In some lands:
The sky turns dark, cold dead breeze blows through the land. No signs of life in the trees, lakes, even people can be found. The towns are empty, the stores are vacant, the farms are not being tended... why?
The very lands of this world seem to be dying. But to what?
Sounds of dragging can be heard echoing in this town, low gurgling moans are heard echoing off the buildings as lifeless bodies drag there way through the town roads. No living people could be found on the streets. The very life of this town was stolen. What was causing this to happen, what sort of evil would do this?
But in other lands, life was still hanging on as kingdoms and towns gathered there wills to survive, and banded together to fight against this threat to life itself. People worked together to keep the plague out, by any means necessary.

In the town of Nemsees; this town was a working town that had produced for the kingdom, with crops, livestock, and fishing mainly. They had there own blacksmith and strangely a Mage tower, and a large jail. The kingdom militia did not like being posted here, for they were first to fight the undead if they came unto this town. The mages constructed a sturdy stone wall to be able to stop the undead if them attacked, but eveyone knows if the undead want in, they will stop at nothing to achieve there task. This town had to be like all the other towns and kingdoms, on lock down primarly, so no infection could be brought in. There were few reasons for anyone to leave to go into the forest, and those that were allowed to leave, usually never came back. Fishing was hard to do for the fear of the undead and not a lot of river to fish from. The mages were researching to find a way to stop this plague. The jail was doing there job of holding the prisoners that broke the rules. But one thing was, they would capture people that were suspected of undead spreading, for information or other resource. The mages risked much with this, and they trusted one of there own to extract the information.
A dark hooded mage with random runes inscribed onto his robe asked questions to a man dressed in black, his hair was shaggy and his eyes told the tale of non caring. He ignored the mage and looked at the others in this cage. The mage was shaking his head as he used spells to make him give the information, but he was resisting the powers. The man in the cage just laughed and stood up to walk away from the mage, as he made his way to speak to a few in the cage, laughed and joked with the other criminals this shaggy hair fellow did. The mage stood there and watched as the shaggy haired man approached again after a long few minutes and was taken by surprise as the mage was a woman and disgusted by this one prisoner, to have him fondle her like that was appalling. The man grinned as he was shocked by a defensive spell and knocked to the ground.
Shaggy haired man: "Hey! Nice rack!"
The man picked himself up and was quickly taken by a few guards out of the cage and brought into another room. He looked to the guards and started to laugh as he removed his face almost and showed he was an elf to the guards and they laughed with him.
Guard: "Did you gather any intel Marcus?"
Marcus: "No, they do not know anything, move them out of the jail, they are clean. No info on the plague. It is not smart that they keep bringing people in. What happens if they bring a infected in and we don't catch it with the clerics? Idiots... mages always think they can foresee everything before it happens. That mage had a nice set of breasts though..."
The guards laughed as Marcus's changed his clothes. They guards looked through the window and saw a new prisoner caravan coming in.
Guard: "Marcus, new prisoners coming in."
Marcus looked and saw a dozen or so people in this one as the clerics were already checking one by one to see if any were infected. Marcus shook his head and sighed.
Marcus: "I heard the kingdom was hiring heroes as well... heroes shouldn't have to be hired, morons."
Marcus strapped his exotic sword to his side and adjusted his bracer and gauntlet, threw his cloak on to hide the two daggers on his back and he walked out of the jail to the bar. He saw people coming in through the gates as well.
"Must be that time of day."
A guard patrol escorted the people in through the gate and steered clear of the prisoners that were being checked. They escorted the hunters and gatherers for the town and a few clerics checked them out as well.
Marcus walked to the bar and saw it was a busy day and the same people as always, he grinned when he saw the women here as some hated him cause he was so lewd and some found his antics to be silly. A womanizer, one that loved to fondle and grope. Marcus walked by a few women and smacked one on the ass as he walked by and she yelped and threw Marcus a evil look, Marcus walked to the bar and ordered a drink and sat and pondered. The people here tried to be in better moods, they tried to not think about the end of there lives, they tried to live there normal lives, but it was hard to do. The thoughts weighed heavily on them, but they had to keep there strengths up to fight for there land if and when the time came, it wouldn't be the first time to them. He thought of better times, when he could leave the town freely and not have to worry about the undead, maybe a Orc tribe or Goblin tribe here and there, but never uncertain doom of undeath... the thoughts depressed him and he sighed as he put his face on the flat surface of the bar. His eyes on the women in the bar and how he wanted them all...
Sigh...
