Io, Avaline, Wyn, Raymond, Draken, Raven....South America 1817

Raven was still a little dumbstruck as she was roused from her brief sleep by not only her sister Iolantha, but by Avaline their dear Goddess being here as well. Upset by the feelings they were giving off...she stayed silent but listened closely to all that they both said. Her mind racing to what all this meant ...not only to themselves but the rest of the world. It was incomprehensible ...even to her. And if it was enough to have the Goddess upset ...it was not good at all.
Quietly clearing her throat she finally spoke.
"What do you need for us to do Avaline?"

Ignoring the remarks from Drakken and the anger from Io...she looked upon the Goddess and saw the disconcerted looks and feelings coming from her. Unsure what to make of it and what was all behind what they were now facing here...she could not spend too much on the thoughts of being with her sisters again or the fact that their love interests had to wait. More pressing things were in their midst.

She watched as Drakken moved away from the group and went to the stream. She felt the cofusion and frustration of some of his thoughts. It must be hard not being of this world and having to do a task for another and landing with this group for whatever reason must be upseting as well. She hoped he didn't feel totally hated and yet he kept to himself and kept his thoughts blocked from them.

Raven tried hard to stifle a giggle as she heard Raymonds comment. He was the a little worse off than the rest of us , in the sense that he was plucked from the future and now all this...poor soul. She touched his arm briefly to calm him and settle his anger and confusion . She bravely tried to smile at her sister's. But the sense of dread from what they were saying was making it hard to think let alone be happy that they were back together, the sisters, her family.

Avaline and EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!! 1817 and her cloudy home.

Avaline heard everyone, sat there listening, absorbing it all as the rumbling under the ground was growing closer, she looked to the man known to her as Draken, and saw he wished to leave, she nodded for him to go, his words reassuring her concerning the mortals lives, but she herself did not trust him. There was another reason he was here and the more she thought about it the more she began to wonder if perhaps he was there for her. She understood that Demon hunters would only kill something that wasn’t Demonic if they were being threatened or someone they were protecting was. She wasn’t harming anyone so she wasn’t sure why Draken would be concerned with her, for she had nothing but compassion, love and friendship for her charges.

Inwardly she thought that she would have to delve deeper into the man Draken and perhaps she would have to apply feminine charms to Draken to make him give her the information. It had been a while since she had used her body to gain information, but since Richard no longer loved her and she was sentenced to death, she should at least enjoy the last of her days. That thought sent Avaline back. Never had she put herself before another, and now suddenly she had thought to use herself to gain knowledge; that wasn’t like her. She shook away the thought, determined to let the laws of the Gods work. But she didn’t have to, she was powerful, beautiful and charming, she could control them, all of them really with just a flick of her wrist. Again Avaline stifled the unexpected thought and took a deep breath.

As Avaline brought her mind back into focus, she looked to the right of them and the left. “You need to seek shelter now. The quests for the men have started. I can’t aid you in this. Go seek shelter, for the battle on this land between San Martin and Spain has begun. I can only tell you the year is 1817, and you don’t want captured by Spain!” She looked to the group, felt the power of Zues surrounding the area joined by Kali and she growled.

“Zues brings another, Kali the Goddess of Destruction rides with him. Beware... she takes from you the most precious gift one has... your soul.” Avaline watched their eyes widen, for a moment a rush of energy ran through her as if she were enjoying their fear. She closed her eyes and took a deep calming breath. “I must return to Karl, I’ll tell him of your love for him Iolantha,” she smiled warmly at her friend. However, inside a thought burrowed into Avaline’s mind. “Why not enjoy yourself Avaline... your going to die anyway, why not start with the mortal gentleman and work your way around them... you know you want to.” Avaline’s face paled as the thought traveled through her. She swallowed back the desire the thought had produced and shook her head no, she didn’t understand why she was suddenly having thoughts that would only serve her, she wasn’t like that, nor would she allow herself to be.

She rose up into the mist and disappeared, her thoughts bringing her back to Karl and her cloudy home. She studied him silently before making her appearance known. "He is a handsome mortal Avlaine, one quick taste... you know you want to, its been so long," Avaline's eyes devoured the man, but she told herself no there were other things more important to do.

Stepping up to Karl she spoke to him, allowing him to sense her presence behind him. "Karl, I need to know your loyalty to your military group." She didn't have time to waste she needed to know where he stood and would stand when he found out his side had won the war, and now ruled the World.

Wyn had stayed quiet through out this whole ordeal In her happiness to see her goddess and her sister again. She had missed the look Draken had given her before speaking. Her first instinct was to protect Draken because as she seen it he was in the same situation they all were, and then it regestered how he had said what he did.

Wyn stopped and kept her silence because Io was right he had been extreamly rude, and had been about to tell him so when he applogzed and showed them the runes on his hands. Explaining why he had spoken the way he had. Couldnt they feel his confusion and fear as she had or was it only her? Didnt he have the right to distrust them as much as they did him??

Richards concerns about Hitler were correct and Avaline was right they couldnt just kill him it would change hystory even more than it already was and we wanted to put it back not change it.

Hearing Aveline speak to her Wyn smile tho in her eyes were some confusion. No i have no questions my Goddess i am only sligtly confused, but i belive my awncers will come with time, and for now it is good to see you alive and well. I am glad we were able to save you. As she spoke Wyn noticed that Aveline didnt look very well, but only if you were paying attention would you notice it. Something was wrong and from what Io had been saying about Hitler and Richard along with something about them being in the middle of a war zone... Things were going to get hecktick again soon.

Hearing Draken say that he was going to leave Wyn put her hand out gently touching his arm. She had been going to call him back and ask him to stay but decided to give him some time to himself insted and allow him to think things through. Be careful.. she said insted, and turned back to her sisters Raymond and her Goddess. Hearing Raven ask "What do you need for us to do Avaline?" Wyn waited to hear what she would say.

Listining to Avaline they were in alot of trouble 1814 Closing her eyes Wyn tryed to remember her hystory class's in collage. Unfortuantly at the moment her mind was drawing a blank and from the sounds of the animals and trees near by they were defanetly running out of time fast.

Watching her goddess dissapear Wyn looked to her sisters and Raymond and said.. I think we should find Draken and find shelter some where... What do you think? We cant stand here long..

Raymond nodded, and pulled out the map he was given.

"Let's just zap off to North America or something. I really hate this jungle. I guess the lizard should come too, but then... maybe North America isn't a good idea then. Whatever, let's just get out of here."

Lastar's Mind

Draken was given the go ahead to part from the group while they continued without him. He was given his task of protection and that was that. He turned and felt a hand on his arm. He stopped for a brief second to hear Wyn.

"Im always careful....its part of the job description. Making sure everyone else is careul is the hard part." He paused, thinking about his words. "Thanks Wyn.....I'll be sure to mind my surroundings." And with that he headed off, hearing only something about soul stealing.

<You hear that Lastar? There's a being out there capable of the same acts we are. Wonder if their aware that your soul is untouchable so long as mine is bound to it too....>
(Yea, and if i had anything to do with it your soul would be vanquished to the Demon Realm like the rest of them. Instead you bound yourself to this forsaken Katana. I hate you Seth, you are an abomination that serves no purpose in existing. You should have died like the rest of your kin.)
<Strong words for someone so weak in will as you Lastar. Your spirit was broken the day your parents were stuck like pigs on the edge of Kain-Sante's blade...>
"SHUT UP, and do it NOW! Thats enough for once you bastard, now leave my mind in peace for a few hours!" Draken spoke not in his mind this time, but outloud. The echo surely made its way to the others.

Draken found the rock he and Wyn had rested on just an hour before and sat down, peering out into the river. The reflection looking back at him though wasnt his own. Drakens tan leathery hide was replaced with a thick, spikey black Carapace. His eyes were red instead of green. His wings were now bat-like in comparison, and from his elbows lashed out wicked Scythe-like blades. His reflection was that of the Demon trapped within him. Seth Gabriel Zeal; the Chaos Demon of Ayoma. So long as Draken remained in control, this thing would never see the light of day. Seth had escaped before though, using Drakens body as a shell for his own persona, it was only time before the Demon found another way.....

Zues, Kali, Battle warriors ;)

Zues heard Kali's words and found them encouraging and yet he knew she would have to be watched. Her gifts were many, but the power and hunger she thirsted for to claim souls ran deep in her blood and he could not permit her to run rampant over the others, and take souls at will. Their bodies could not be forced either, for Avaline was still their Goddess and her anger would devour Kali and her powers if her charges were forced into submission against their will.

“Kali... it is time.”

The warriors moved across the lands, the hills dividing them, a perfect place to fight and a perfect place to capture. It wasn't long before Kali and Zues emerged and the sounds of battle ran through. San Martin's men were shocked to see foreigners and though he would have normally aided them, he had no time, his only concern was the battle and destroying Spain. Zues and Kali both knew the outcome of the battle and that would remain the same, what they needed was the distraction so he and Kali could swoop in capture the three women and leave the men alone.

His quest was simple. The men would be forced into action for the time of petty thoughts, and bickering were no longer important and so, it was no surprise when Zues struck out at the weaker of the two males and forced a bullet to enter Raymond's shoulder and exit cleanly out. He would take down the men, then overwhelm Iolantha and Wyn, allowing Kali the female Raven to deal with.

He did not wish to use his powers, but in the end he would. His eyes searched for Draken, the foolish Demon hunter that had Avaline in his sights but did nothing to claim her life. Was he not up to the task? Was he not able to slay her? For a brief moment, he caught the mist of her magic and knew she'd just left. Another scent mingled in the air, a scent he'd not smelled in this area in years. The scent of a Demoness, shrugging his shoulders he thought nothing of it for the moment; he had to focus on the task at hand.

Karl / Avaline (Avaline's cloudy home)

"Karl, I need to know your loyalty to your military group." Avaline asked surprising Karl with her sudden arrival and with the question.

Karl couldn’t understand why she’d asked a question like that, if she put him back into 1942 he’d revert to his position as an SS officer. In any other time his loyalty belonged to Io and nobody else, he’d do anything for her he’d even go as far as saying he’d give his life for her.

Thinking about it Karl came to the conclusion that something had gone wrong, he knew that Avaline didn’t like or trust him but to ask a question like that must mean that they’d altered time in some way. His quick thinking and jumping to the right conclusions had always helped him during his career in the SS he needed this now. He knew that he wasn’t important enough to have had an effect on time, after all Avaline would have known in advance and not moved him from 1942. That left the outcome of the war as the only possibility and who would have won and lost. If Germany would have won and things had changed, sixty years in the future his loyalty wouldn’t matter. That brought him to the conclusion that Germany should have lost and things had gone terribly wrong causing the Third Reich to win.

The question now was where did that leave him, back in 1942 it wouldn’t matter but sixty years in the future which was Io’s time. He would probably be down as a deserter to be shot on sight, the only good thing being that he wouldn’t look eighty years old. He wondered if his uniform would still stand him in good stead, or if they’d changed it over the years.

It was obvious now that Avaline didn’t trust him and was worried that he’d turn her and her friends over to the authorities at the first chance he had. That would mean losing Io and that was one thing that he didn’t want to do.

“Avaline, you don’t trust me you never have, I’ll even go as far as saying you don’t like me either. The only thing that you can really rely on is that I won’t do anything that could cause me to never see Io again. I know you Gods and Goddess’s have messed up and changed time and you want me to help you put things back the way they were. I think the only way I’m going to see Io again is to help you do whatever is needed,” he told her.

“Now don’t you think I should know just what is going on so that at least I’m prepared for what ever happens, if we're going to have to work together” he added seeing her face go cold.

Avaline and Karl -- clouds

She glared at him. Her eyes seemingly to glow for a moment, a sliver of yellow danced in them, then disappeared. 'You could kill him Avaline... you should, he disrespected you. End his life, and feel your bodies power increase.' Avaline paled at the thought that went through her. She shook her head and turned away from Karl. With a deep breath she steadied herself and focused on the words he'd said to her.

“I do not hate you... trust has to be earned, and you Sir in 1942 was sided with a vile man. One that murdered thousands and you were a part of that whether you wish to acknowledge it or not. So do not speak to me as if my dislike of your beliefs comes as a surprise. You mortals slaughtered people at a whim. You will have to live with that... no amount of time shifting will change your memories only I can do that... I and the other Gods.“

She turned back to him, “Iolantha is with her sisters. She told me...” Avaline stopped, her eyes unfocused for a moment and the hint of yellow slipped in again. “She said to tell you that you were to use this time to explore other avenues. She has met with Raymond again... the man she was with in Germany, before she bothered with you.“ The glowing yellow left her eyes and locked itself away, knowing Avaline had not been able to stop its words form emerging, nor would she be allowed to pull them back.

Avaline heard the words flow from her mouth and tried to conteract them, but the words would not come. “What is happening to me?” she thought to herself, but shook off the feeling of dread. She went back to Karl. “We Gods... don't need you Karl, I can do this on my own. I keep you with me to judge you. To see if you are worthy. You are insignificant otherwise, but you are hear now, and my friend Lily is in the future. She will be struggling, trying to come to terms with the new future... a future that was not to happen.“

“Your Hilter won the war using the powers of another God. We must travel to the future. Try to find Lily.. the powers of the other God have blocked me from locking onto her. I need you to come with me, protect Lily as well as myself, my powers are weakening and I need to set things right before my time here ends.“

'Your powers won't end if you let me play,' her thoughts ran in her head again. Avaline ignored the words, and stared at Karl. “Your faction... you leader almost succedded in exterminanting and entire race of people. He only stopped when he realized what good slaves they made; even then they are underfed, rarely allowed outside and never allowed to worship their God. Your loyalty you say is to Iolantha... but at one time you supported this evil, what is to say you won't support it again. When you reach the future... what is to say that the power of the ones that follow this new government, a government that wasn't supposed to exist, wouldn't suck you back in...?“

Karl / Avaline - clouds

Karl listened to Avaline rant at him about his beliefs and thought about what else she’d said to him.

“As far as my beliefs are concerned, is that why I snatched you and Io from the camp because I agreed with what was going to happen to you?” he asked. “Just because I wear a uniform doesn’t mean that I agree with the policies of the leader, did you ever think that it was a way to stay alive even if millions were dying?” he added as another question.

He was glad she’d railed at him he always thought better when that happened and he’d noticed that she’d stopped as she started to deliver Io's so called message then started again with different words. There was also a flash in her eyes as they changed colour, he didn't know what that was about but it confirmed she wasn't telling the truth.

“I thought you were supposed to be the Goddess of love, but you change the start of the message that you are delivering from Io I don’t believe the message is true. Io asked me to wait for her, so wait for her I will until the day I die, nothing will change that,” Karl told her getting really annoyed himself.

Thinking about what she’d said about the task ahead, he realised that she’d contradicted herself about what was needed.

“First you tell me that you can carry out the task on your own, then in the next breath you tell me you need me to protect this Lily and yourself. You say that trust needs to be earned as you rant at me about beliefs that you don’t know that I had, you also couldn’t deliver a message from Io without changing the start as if you had second thoughts, and then you contradict yourself in a matter of seconds and you talk about trust. Can I trust you? Is there more danger of you being sucked into this new power than me. Remember I’m missing from 1942, I can’t show up in the year 2000 plus and say I’m SS-Sturmbannführer Karl Kreutz, from what you say I’d be shot as a deserter or a madman without them giving it any thought” Karl told her hoping he’d made his points.

"Now shall we get on with it and find this Lily of yours, the sooner this mess is sorted out the quicker I'm liable to see Io again. I'm going to have to trust you and vice versa," Karl said quietly.

War, thanks a lot :p

The crude bullet tore through Raymond, and the map flew from his hands. He fell forward, and cracked his head against a rock, and his eyes rolled up and into the back of his head.

The map began to fly up and away.

Avaline - Karl - Chicago 2005 - occupied by the baddies!!!

Avaline listened to him. A part of her allowed his words to make sense another part drove them away, telling her to kill him, take him far back into time and drop his sorry ass off. She fought the terrible images her mind was projecting and she shook her head, placed her palm against it and calmed herself down.

“I'm sorry Karl... I am distracted with the thoughts of my charges and I only want to set things right. I will try to make more sense to you.“ Avaline looked back at him, took a deep breath and breathed in the scent of her lilic blossoms.

“You never just up and disappeared. I explained to the others how this works. You have an image of yourself, still doing what needs to be done. You were sent on a secret mission, in that mission you will die and no one will question your death, because no one but a few would have known of this quest. Your past can be changed if you and Iolantha decide you are a true match and you wish to return to 1942 or you may return with her to her time. But that is all far into the future... right now..“ she flecked at the invisible cloud fluff that swept over her skin.

“Right now we will search out Lily... I do speak the truth. My powers are weakening on Earth and only here am I strong enough to fight the powers of evil. There isn't alot of time for me left, so I need to fix the errors that have taken place.“ She swept her hands over his form, dressing him in casual clothing of 2005. “The clothing has remained unchanged in Iolantha's time, except for the symbols of hate that is worn... the symbol of your military faction.“

'Take him now... you don't need his help, I can help you. I have't been free in a long time... your God was stupid to think he could control me.' The voice screamed at her, but Avaline ignored it. “Come Karl we'll travel into the future, make good on protecting and finding Lily. The city's name is Chicago and we need to find Jake's bar. I need to pull Lily back, she needs to stay safe. Then you and I will travel deeper into the past and reamerge in 1942. What disguises we'll use... I don't know yet... where will Lily go... I know not that either.“

It was becoming apparent to the Goddess that she was a failure and her charges were more then likely going to lose her and be stuck relying on someone else. 'Me..' the whisper caressed Avaline's soul. Avaline reached over and clasped Karl's hand. “I'll shield your from the pain of travels.” She flicked her wrist and soon they were spiriling through time and space once more. Her thoughts kept him safely sheltered, her powers protecting him but leavng her to carry the stabbing pains of travel.

War Upon us.....

Draken stood upright as the sounds of battle quickly reached his heightened hearing. "Wyn...." Draken opend his wings and took off in the direction of the others. "Dammit i never should have left the group."
<Thats what you get my Draconic friend, thats what you get.>

Draken reached the group to find Raymond on the ground, a bullet wound incapacitating him. The others were all on the offensive. Draken landed and then he saw him. The very being who had sent Draken here in the first place was upon them. "YOU!? What are you doing here? What is the meaning of this? You told me not to harm any humans.....what has Raymond done? Explain yourself!" Draken summoned forth his Dragon Fang Blade in hopes of defending himself if neccesary. He stood by Wyn, the first person that came to mind.

Zues sent a bolt of energy through his fingers, shoved Draken from his chest, sending him flying through the air. He watched the man stagger up and he glared back at him. His feet quickly closed the distance that separated them. “I also told you to wear the amulet you fool... You take care of your job and I will take care of mine. I will harm whoever gets in my way, including you.“

He forced the Demon Hunter back, holding him with a strong, steely gaze. “She was right there next to you. You could have ended her life... or has she already made you believe in her?“ Zues eyed the hunter closely. ”Have I chosen the wrong man for the job? A weakling that can not bring his sword down to deal with a petty demoness?“ Zues itched to scorch the infidel with a flashing bolt of lightning but by now Kali would be in the mist of battle and he needed to return to capturing the women.

“Don't try to battle me fool... you'll lose. I go to take your women... or have they to captured you weak heart?“ Zues knew that to test the hunter was his purpose but he also knew a good battle would do wonderful for the ass chewing Hetta was going to deliver to him, when he tells her of the scent of demons had filled his senses after Avaline had disappeared. He feared that something more sinister would be taking place inside his friend, right now he needed to take the females from their men. Already he'd taken down the weak one. “Much to easily,” he told himself, a bit sad that the boy Raymond didn't have much stamina to balance himself after a gunshot wound, leaving Draken to protect the women.

Draken was thrown back by a bolt that came far to quickly to be seen. He was then grabbed and held by the being named Zeus.
"The pendant.....was off for only.....a few minutes.......to help gain the aid.......of the mortals.......in disposing of.....the Demoness........I had no opening to attack.......without first dealing......with the humans.......that you forbade me to harm........She will get whats comming to her.....and you will follow unless you release me now."
<Yesss my Draconic pal......feed me your anger and hate......but dont rely on me to kill this god for you. Only my version of the Katana can slay gods, and i've not harnessed its powers yet.>
(Shut the hell up Demon! I can take him myself. You'll not be loosed unto this age no matter what!)

Zues' anger flashed through his eyes. “Your inner self needs to hush his musings, for he grows tiresome.“ Zues released the pitiful man, cleared his thoughts and looked hard at Draken. “You'd do well to find out how you'll reach Avaline now that she's left you. This was an opportunity you idiot and now it is gone. I don't know when the opportunity will present itself again.“

He watched the battling armies and he saw how easily it was going to be for San Martin's men to force back Spain's army. He watched both groups battle around the women. “Return to them, and protect them if you can... but don't think of attacking me again... I would hate to destroy the man who is supposed to kill the Demoness.“

He shoved away from Draken and returned to fight a war that wasn't his. He knew eventually the women would begin using their powers, and he needed to be in the mist of battle when they began. He'd not told Draken that in the end the Demon Hunter would lose the women he'd come to like so much, but be left with only the man Raymond to aid him in his quest. Weapons sounded through the air as he worked his way into the battle, even Zues took out soldiers that were advancing on the females. Neither group knew the women, but they saw them as either the enemy or as leverage. Zues saw them as proof to the men's true character and standing.

(Tiresome is right, but you wouldnt know the half of it....) He thought to himself once the god was from his sights. He then rushed off to aid Wyn and the others, stoping at the feet of Raymond. "I forget how soft human flesh is...."

Draken reached into his personal satchell and took out a crystal clear jug in the shape of a serpent. "Lazulii Water. If you can still hear me Raymond i'm applying what you might call first aid. This liquid will seep into your wound and, burn as it might, it will heal your injurie. Once you can walk i suggest you try and aid us in the war that is pursuing. You would know more about these things than I." Draken poured a bit of the water into his wound and stoppered up the jug, returning it to his Satchell. He turned to leave and then added to Raymond, ".....Your welcome Human."

"WYN! Wyn where are you?!" Draken was in flight soaring over soldiers of different sides looking for the group of females, but more importantly Wyn. Something was wrong. A god wouldnt just show up to incite war, release someone who had failed them, then remain on the battlefield if they didnt have an alterior plan. He needed to find them a fast.

Raymond's gooood 1817

Well that was interesting. Raymond thought. He had only been unconscious for a short while. He awoke in time to learn quite a few things.

A soldier fell near him, and Raymond got to his feet, grateful that his shoulder was already healed.

Picking up the ancient gun, Raymond squatted on the ground to figure out how it worked, grabbed the dead man's sword, and stood up.

Pissed human

"Zeus! You fucker! You screwed us all, didn't you!" Raymond screamed. As the god turned, Raymond aimed for the chest and fired, but struck his arm instead. Cursing, Raymond made to go after Zeus, but soldiers were after Raven and Io.

Shit! Raymond thought, and ran to protect the two sisters, trusting Draken to look after Wyn.

Wyn heard the sound of the bullet fire and watched as Raymonds eyes widended and the map fell from his hands. Dropping to her knees by his side she begain to heal.

Hearing Draken land near them she continued what she was doing but it was hard to concentrate with the sounds of the bullets being fired and the shouting and fighting going on around them. She couldnt hear what Draken was yelling while fighting with one of the other men but the other ones voice sounded familar....

Looking up Wyn could see her sisters were starting to be surrounded. Looking down at Raymond she could see that he would live. Leaning forward she said/ I am sorry Raymond i have healed you a little bit but i need to get to my sisters.. Jumping up Wyn ran to her sisters calling the animals for help as she ran. Hearing Draken behind her calling for her she would have awncered but didnt have time as they all were now completly surrrounded.

Karl / Avaline / NPC's - Chicago 2005

Looking around Karl thought they must have arrived in the industrial area of the city, he could hear water not far away so he thought they should travel in the opposite direction.

“Any Idea which way we should go?” Karl asked Avaline, she just shrugged her shoulders as if to say I don’t know. “In that case any way is as good as the other, the river sounds as if it’s over there so I think we should go this way,” Karl suggested starting to walk in the direction indicated. After a few strides he stopped and turned, he was relieved to find Avaline was following him.

Everywhere they looked was a dirty grey as if everybody had decided it wasn’t worth worrying about, Avaline was now walking along side him when the came to a junction. Not knowing which way to go he turned right and after a couple of minutes say a group of armed guys turn a corner ahead of them and walk towards them.

“Pretend to kiss me,” Karl said to Avaline as he wrapped his arms around her. He’d positioned himself so that he could watch the group approach.

“We’re after you with your lady friend,” one of the group told Karl.

“This lady is with me and nobody touches her except me,” Karl replied trying to sound dangerous.

“Sorry sir, we didn’t know you were from Germany,” another of the group told him dragging the first one to speak away from them. “You appear to be in the wrong area of town,” he explained.

Karl realised that his accent had made them think that he was somebody important or did they treat all native Germans the same only being able to distinguish them from their accent.

“We were out for a walk, and seem to have lost our way, one of my colleagues back home suggested I should visit a place called Jake’s bar,” he told them feeling confident now.

“We know the place sir,” the leader told him sounding a bit unsure of himself. “Would you like us to escort you to the correct street?” he asked.

“You don’t sound very keen on the place, what’s wrong with it?” Karl asked wondering if he’d made a mistake.

“It’s just that there are rumours that an anti-government group collect there. We’ve raided it a few times but have never caught anybody known to us. Of course the detainees have never been seen again as instructed by the Furher,” the man explained. “But you’d know this sir and are just testing us,” he added sounding unsure again.

So this group thought he was important, he hoped Avaline was following the conversation and coming to the same conclusion as he had.

“We would like your help finding the place but I don’t think we should be seen with you. Once we can’t get lost again you can give us directions and leave us to approach the place on our own,” Karl told the leader.

They were guided through various streets, then the leader stopped.

“At the end of this street turn right, you’ll see Jake’s bar about one hundred metres on the right. It’s got a dirty green door with a broken sign over it,” the leader told Karl and Avaline and the group left them alone.

“That was a lucky break,” Karl said to Avaline when they were alone once more. As they neared the door to Jake’s bar Karl stopped. “What do we do now?” Karl asked Avaline suddenly unsure of himself. His accent would point him out as a native German and if it was an underground hideout he was likely to be set on very quickly. The other thing was he had no idea what Lily looked like so Avaline would have to find her.

Io/Raven/Wyn/Draken/Raymond

Everything seemed to hit at once, Avaline disappeared, then shots fired, Wyn screaming and rushing in to help, Raymond falling, turning I look for Raven but do not find her. Where the hell had Draken gone to and then he was there yelling for Wyn. Confusion being the big aspect of everything happening at this moment in time. I knew the war here had found us and yet, as I watch Draken closer I see him arguing with a man. The man attacking us, did Draken know this man and if so what were they arguing about I wondered.

Slipping into the bushes along side the area that we had been in I moved closer to the two arguing men. Knowing that Wyn would head for Raymond and she would take care of the two of them. I wanted to see what Draken was up to and what we were up against.

Hearing Draken's words I knew he wasn't with us, turning I rush to reach Wyn and Raymond. Knowing that Wyn wouldn't listen to me but maybe Raven would if I could only find her. She would know what to do about the traitor in our mists, and if she didn't then I would have to contact Avaline and let her know.

Coming out of the bushes I head directly towards Wyn and Raymond. Only to find myself surrounded by men wearing uniforms carrying guns. Looking about me wildly I find that not only have I been encircled but so has Wyn. Still my eyes do not find Raven in the area. Opening my mouth to yell to Wyn and let her know that Raven has gone missing. Pain explodes in my head and darkness swims to meet me. My thoughts scatter leaving me lost in a world of swirling mists and faces.

War 1817

"Io!" Raymond yelled, running his sword through a soldier that had hit her over the head with the butt of his weapon.

Unfortunately, Raymond was not a trained soldier, and although he suceeded in drawing the men away from Io, he was quickly being overwhelmed.

Just as he was about to have his throat cut, soldiers that were enemies of those Raymond was fighting came and gave him the chance to escape.

He ran and dove, landing next to the fallen Io, and checked for a pulse.

Avaline/Karl/npc/Chicago 2005

'Avaline... wasn't that tasty... that kiss... its been a while, I can feel it in you, you want more. You can have it Avaline... one kiss, can lead to many more things, things you've denied yourself for what??? LOVE! There isn't any look around you....' Avaline did look around her, she saw sorrow, decay, and pain, but she also saw hope. They walked toward the bar and she found herself very glad she wasn't alone. She would use her powers only if necessary, for now she'd pretend to be as human as the next mortal and allow Karl to lead her.

"It wasn't like this Karl..," she looked around, her eyes full of sadness. She clutched his arm and stopped outside the bar. "He kept it clean and happy. Music played, people laughed. This place was full of the good and the bad, but the good was so much it outweighed the evil... but now...," she sighed, feeling the pain the enveloped the city.

"Your Hitler can't win. Don't you see?" She splayed her hand out and for a brief second she allowed him to see what this world had been like. The bar was lit up, its true beauty and laughter showed. The street was full of people walking about, not a care in the world, children played, parents shopped and the sun shown brightly. The image faded and she looked to him.

"Jake and Lily were lucky... they lived in a place that wasn't rich, but was nice. This neighborhood was once full of crime and horrible things, but the people worked together to help each other out. I have to fix this.. I have to fix it all before I go." She hung her head and pushed the door open.

Immediately they were hit with the acrid smell of cigarettes and drugs. Her eyes took in the powers on the tables, the booze in every hand, the women on laps, on the bar and in some corners already openly displaying themselves and performing sexual acts. 'Avaline... I want to live here forever... you can't change this. This is heaven.' Avaline's eyes flashed a brilliant gold and for a moment she pressed her body closer to Karl's allowing him to feel her breasts and hips. Then Avaline just as quickly moved away, her mind telling her that she could not allow herself to enjoy Karl, he was intended for Iolantha.

"There is one of Jake and Lily's friends. We need to talk to him." She took Karl's hand in hers and slowly they wove to the bar. "His name is Tony, ask him where Lily and Jake are," she whispered in his ear. Avaline saw the women eyeing Karl, so she pushed wrapped her arm around his waist and pretended to be only his, keeping her eyes lowered in submission. 'Mmmm... nice Avie girl... very nice.'

Raven , Wyn, Raymond, Io, Drakken...Lost in the battle 1817 South America

Shots rang through the air no sooner than Avaline left them. Such ancient
weapons ...the smoke from them being shot off clouded everyone and
everything. Raven scrambled and not seeing where everyone went or where
she was. She huddled down against an outcropping of a cliff face and stayed as low as possible...She heard shouts...from her sisters and the men. Her head swam with the pain she was feeling and held her shoulder as the pain was horrendous and she knew someone was hurt and then she felt the pain in her head and the voices were so loud and the noise drowned out her small
whimperings of pain. No one heard her . She dared not call out for fear that she be shot or captured but not seeing anyone around her she was not sure if any of them were alive yet and she was all alone .

Oh, what have we done...what have we caused ourselves to be caught in.
Holding her head from the many voices that raged around her she tried to calm herself and feel for her sisters. Searching for them with her minds eye..calling to them from her mind, hoping against all hope that they heard her. But knowing if the noise be this loud in her head then it be as bad in theirs. She heard the shouts of Drakken and then of Raymond and then nothing but the battle edging closer and closer to her location. She trembled as she noticed it getting dark.

All the smoke from the battle and the weapons was clouding over the sunlight. She felt a cold evil chill go through her body and shook as it ran her blood cold from the prescence that surrounded her.

Again and again she tried to peer out to see anyone ...her sister's or Drakken or Raymond...but nothing..it was like she was in some eerie fog. She called to her sisters with her mind...still nothing ...but the sounds of weapons going off around her. A man's body feel in front of her and she screamed as the man's eyes rolled up and looked at her in their death's gaze. The mouth moved but nothing but a trickle of blood seeped out from the corner. She went into a mild shock then. Looking at the vacant eyes she began rocking slowly back and forth in the small little hiding place she was in.

Kicking her foot out at the rigid blank face that still stared at her, she hissed in a voice unlike her own, "Where are they?...What have you done to them all? Talk to me you son of a bitch! Tell me ....Tell me now!" Catching some dirt under her foot some managed to fly off her shoe into the deadened face. It startled her back to her surroundings and she hugged her legs to her and trembled in fright..

Closing her eyes wishing she was anywhere but here.

Io/Raven/Wyn/Raymond/Draken

Somewhere in my mind I heard a scared voice calling to me, at first I think it is Avaline. Try as I might though I could not answer her, nor could I seem to move my eyes. Again the calling within my mind, louder more urgent this time, a woman's voice soft and scared. Raven! I could hear Raven she was scared and possiably hurt, I hadn't seen her before I had been hit but she was there..

Reaching out tentatively at first calling back softly with my mind. The pain grows and I know after all this I would need a lot of asprin when we made it home, IF we ever made it home. Not recieving an answer I begin to wonder if perchance I wasn't able to talk to my sister within her mind as she had us for so many years. Concentrating harder upon my own powers, I begin to use the winds about us to cause small gusting rushes. Knocking those about me off their feet, focusing once more upon what I had seen of the area before I had gone down. I remember a tree not far off that had looked to be close to dying. Willing it in my minds eye, I see the tree begin to smoke and then flames begin to greedily lick up its length.

Maybe if I could just let her know I was here so wouldn't be so scared anymore. Raven my dearest Raven, and Wyn I hadn't had enough time to spend with either of them. Nor to tell them how much I had missed them, or how much I loved them before this had all hit.

I begin to feel the anger of so much hurt and pain, opening my eyes I look up to see a very worried Raymond. His warm fingers pressed to my throat, and his deep voice talking soothingly to me. His clothing was bloodied and torn in areas but he was still good looking and sweet. Smiling softly up at him I try to move my head just enough to look about me. Seeing the tree burning not more then twenty feet away. Men running in all directions, guns being fired, smoke and blood everywhere. Bodies of men I did not know litter the ground around me, but yet again my gaze did not fall upon Raven.

"Raymond? Where is Raven?" Raven had been with Raymond just before everything had hit. And for some reason I thought for sure he should have still been with her and not me.
