ThrobDownSouth, genius, spellchecker and math savant, at it AGAIN...

What's depressing are the large numbers of posters who like his venom and cackle and double-down on it when he starts his "A_J, What's $1.00*$1.30%" schtick without checking to see how insane he is with this question...

That's what he lives for, to bask in the glow of the approval of his peer group, the die-hard Democrats of this forum.

And I mean, not just the trolls, but the zips, pergs and Pookies of this board who consider themselves reasonable people, but just love it when Throb goes on the attack.

AJ, when you (the man who routinely brags about his degrees in mathmatics (sic) and logic) announced that "one times anything equals one" quite a number of people were amused.

You could've manned up and admitted you were wrong, but being a Randian Objectivist, admitting an error is not an option. So you went on one of your typical scorched earth offensives, "proving" that not only did 1 times 1.30 equal 1, it ALSO equaled 1.22 AND .95, depending on how you looked at things.

They're not laughing with you, AJ. They're laughing at you.

The thing that's not funny, though, is the fact that you feel qualified to homeschool little Short Round. I shudder to think of the amount of remedial work she is going to require at the college level.

How was I wrong Throb...?

*gets popcorn*

:waits for another attack on my daughter:

It's funny listening to vermin such as yourself demanding ANYONE "man up."

Maybe you can whip us up with some verbal Calculus just like your mentor LT...

Leaving out the "e" one time does not prove I wasn't a math major, it only proves I'm not an English major, which, btw, I've never claimed to be.

Once again....

Assume you live in a hellish society where the Fair Tax is the law of the land.
The sales tax rate in a post-Fairtax society is 30% tax-exclusive, 23% tax-inclusive.
You go to Walmart and buy a widget.
The price of the widget is $1.00.
You go to the checkout.
How much money do you give the cashier to pay for your widget?
Extra credit: what is the total amount on the receipt?

Assumptions:
The Walmart collects sales tax.
The race of the cashier is not important.
The political leanings of the cashier is not important.
You do not have a credit or debit card with you.
You have enough money in your pockets to pay for the item in full.

What was the price of the widget without the FairTax?

And leave my child out of your lunatic fantasies of brilliance.

You, then, are an idiot who has not even bothered to research the FairTax and what it represents, which is probably why all conversations with you devolve into attacks on my daughter.

And you, sir, are a cowardly jackwagon who can't answer a single simple question because you know it would expose the flimsy house of cards that your beloved FairTax is built upon.

You don't want to talk about the FairTax.

This is why you set up your example.

To prove the FairTax is unfair.

But your example completely ignores the basics of the FairTax. You don't care. In true Democrat fashion all you care about is establishing a "serious charge" and then blasting that one note endlessly until the end of time and when nobody agrees to your false premise you get to accusing them of being stupid and molesting their children, following them endlessly, no matter what the topic of the thread you find that person in, and turning this place into a place none truly wants to hold a discussion in, and to you, that's a triumph of "debate;" being the last one left shouting at the wall wondering what happened to the door that was there when you came in...

And yes, one time I did type Mathematics and the "e" got left out.

At least I don't think Mexico and Arizona start with a consonant.

The Fairtax is unfair. That's a given.

You could easily answer the question, but you won't, and we both know why.

Because you seriously screwed up in the discussion of tax-inclusive vs. tax-exlusive rates in the FairTax thread.

And we both know that if you answer my "gotcha" question, either I or firespin will bump that Fairtax thread and expose your deception.

You've got nothing to gain and everything to lose by answering my question.

And the more times I ask it.....and the more times you refuse to answer it... the more people are going to say, gee, why won't AJ answer that silly simple question? What's he hiding? Gosh, maybe there's something he is not telling us about that FairTax thing.

In the immortal words of that philosopher Simon N. Garfunkel: "Anyway you look at this, you lose"

Thanks for playin'!

p.s. "Gookfucker" <-----there, now you can go on an ad hominem rant and avoid answering the core question once again. :D

It must be getting close to tax time again..

Here comes the annual "Fairtax" delusional stylings of the Cap'n.

It has been introduced into the Senate with more sponsors than ever before and the only reason the topic has come up is Throb's continual wailing about his "serious charge..."

And has as much chance at being passed as it has in the past how many decades?
