There should be a single thread for all of these questions- I'll start it :)

I wish I spoke more Spanish than I do. I'm learning a bit though- little by little at least. Because i signed an email "Con muchos besos", an acquaintance asked me this question;
can you give me ...an early
eighteenth-century Spanish word that a man (a rough, tough man) getting
bit (by a scorpion) would shout; the equivalent of shouting F*CK, very
loudly?

I thought I'd put it to the posters here... many thanks in advance!

Hmmmmmmm

Hard question even for a spanish... riding between the past and this century.

Maybe "¡Voto a bríos!" o "¡Voto a Dios!" can be used.

I thing that the books of "Capitan Alatriste" are translated to English, and are based on a soldier of this 18th century.
