Thoughts about Heaven

I decided to respond in a thread by @sister jenny with the Inside the Actors Studio questionnaire located HERE.

It reminded me of some thoughts I've had about the afterlife. There's the earthly idea that we die and go to some sort of paradise, and that we are reunited with those we've lost. But, how does it work if there are souls there that want to see you, but you do not want to see them? To me, paradise involves not having certain persons around me again, but I know some of them will want to be around me. How will that work? How about the mutial connections, like I want to see one person, but I know that person will be in contact with people I don't want to see.

Has anyone else had thoughts like this?

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on heaven in general. Do you even think it's a real thing?

Assuming there exists a place you describe, all the negative thoughts you had on earth about people will no longer stand in your way. Your level of understanding will enable you to let all that go - same for them. So anyone you want to be with or who wants to be with you - there will be no barriers as there is on earth.

Personally I do not believe any afterlife exists. You die and that's it.

Assuming there exists a place you describe, all the negative thoughts you had on earth about people will no longer stand in your way. Your level of understanding will enable you to let all that go - same for them. So anyone you want to be with or who wants to be with you - there will be no barriers as there is on earth.

This is an interesting thought.

I lean towards your belief, but am open to the possibility of something happening when one dies.

And if that is the case, then the same is true about hell. So the meaning of all this is to make sure hell does not take over.

So live life right this second.

And yeah, I am fully aware of throwing rocks in a glass house with the living here and now. But we all live to get better, right?

I think we attempt to make our own sanctuary, and hopefully it's similar to a heaven.

I do want to see my pets again. They've all been gone for a while now, but they still (luckily) sneak into my dreams.

If Billy's right, maybe I won't have the 'problems' I think might be there.
