Group A would consist of Whomever would like to consider themself the most articulate Democrat or leftist or liberal which everyou want to call yourself {Lavender, Thumper, Weevil Mishcka would be good canadates} just one who ever consideres themselves up for the fun. Thier partner in this thought experiement would be the most articulate right winger, conservatice, libertarian, republican {Uncle Bill, Cheyenne, Miles, Ismael would be good canadates} just one whoever considers themselves up for it.

This thought experiment will be called Right versus Left or vice Versa

~~~~~
What will take place will be very simple each group will consist of 8 post 4 from each side.
1st post would be the opening arguement or presentation of the subject I present.
2nd post would be the body or debate
3rd post would be a rebuttal to the others body or debate
4th post would be conclusion or closing statements
After all is said and done the body of Literotica can discuss who did the better job of presenting thier side of the issue.
The thought experiment comes into play by this factor:
You will not be defending your position on the topic you will be defending the opposite view on the topic.
example
if i gave the subject of horse racing and it is between a horse race admirer and a horse race objector., it would look something like this.
Horse race admirer has to defend why horse race should be keep off television
Horse race objector has to defend why horse racing should be put on television.
Do you think you are ready for the Thought Experiment?
I think this would be a highly entertaining and educational challenge for everyone viewing as well as those participating
Maybe, but I wouldn't be interested in it. In my mind there is no defending the other side's interests so anything I do would be a humourless caricature of the opposing point of view.
I think it would be a good idea if it could be kept purely as a debate and does not drop into ad hominem attacks.
Some of the people from BOTH groups you mentioned have a tedancy to do that.
We had to do this in college, it was quite a cool and fun project.
the names i named were examples any one can take part we only need one person from each side. soon as they sign up i will give the full prameter to what I want done with guncontrol.
weevil affraid that you might end up learning something about how the other side thinks or is it easy to poke jabs at them in stead
Sounds like college debate revisited.
Interesting, in theory.
Makes me remember my professor. Oh, did I ever have the hots for that man. Debate wasn't the only thing on my mind. :)
Tweed jackets still make me moist.
Yes Todd. That's precisely what I'm afraid of.
:rolleyes:
*Internal debate going on in my head*
I could probably go in as a person in favor of control arguing for the no gun control. I just don't know if this is something I really have time for right now.
