Thought about downloading movies.

Ok so I went to see Chicago last weekend. Our theatre was showing it as a sneak preview (odd since it had been released two weeks ago) but whatever. Anyway I didn't know there were no movie previews before sneal preview films, so while standing in line for my Latte and milk duds I missed the opening number.

So this morning I downloaded the movie and watched All That Jazz (brilliant by the way. Zeta Jones blew my mind).

Now, I paid to see the film. I am definitely going to bye the DVD. So am I screwing the industry by downloading the film?

maybe... but they'v been screwing us for year with a fucking reach around! bout time we get to break one off inside them, for a change :)

$8.50 to get in

$4 for popcorn, ditto the drink...

I think a download is ok every now and then

No.. it's theft.

and you shall burn in hell for it.

I'm so jealous.. I tried downloading a movie a few weeks ago and my fucking computer wouldn't let me watch it

Every movie I have I already saw and paid for elsewhere.

Freaky, you need a computer nerd to handle your woes. It can be played

See, the price of movies doesn't bother me that much. When my husband and I go to the movies it generally costs us around $30 for tickets and snacks.

Now when we go out to dinner we usually spend more then twice that (take out not included). If we go out to see a band at a bar we usually drop around $50. Local theatre tickets usually run around $30, so when compared to most other nights out it's not that bad.

as long as you buy the DVD how could you think you're screwing the industry.

Better question: Does it screw the industry if I download the movie even though there aint no chance I'd ever buy the DVD?

I suppose it would screw them only if suddenly you stopped buying DVD's cause now you could get them for free

remember: We're not talking legality, we're talking plain ol screwing!

So where did you download the movie? I think it is still against the copyright provisions, BTW.

I tried a couple of different programs that people suggested. Windows Media Player refused to play it.. (I can't remember the error message).

I finally gave up.. shit canned the movie from my computer and decided I'd wait until it comes out on dvd. LOL

Industry will adapt ... if not it will die and we will have another form of entertainment ...

Your friendly spelling buddy says "I am definitely going to buy ..."

I saw it last weekend too - with my 14 year old daughter. I worried I'd need to cover her eyes once or twice, but she was ok through it all, so was I!

Great movie - and I can't wait for the DVD. I've never downloaded a movie before, and have no idea where to begin!

hmm let's see... I have

Windows media
Realone
Divx 5.0.2
Powerdivx
xvid
powerDVD
VideoLAN
Quicktime

All with the appropriate codecs

I went to download Divx.. and it had way to much spyware with it.

I don't do spyware.
