Do any of you actually read them anymore? Or do you just skip the whole rigamaroo by making lit's forum your home page? Was the last one you read any good?

Yes, nightlight et al. We have stories.

I read them occassionally. Though I think my standards are higher cause I don't read them to get off. It's weird.

Feel free to pander to my ego if you'd like.

one never knows when they'll be in the mood for some front lawn butt sex...

I pandered in a PM... but the last story i read was your latest... very funny, y'all... you ought to read it!

I read a few a day... because I write, and writers should read, right? Though I have a hard time because I have to edit so many of them in my head before I can read for content... so the 'gettin off' is kinda diminished.

I read them everynight...pretty much to get off though ;)

:p

Every night. Rain or shine. 70-100 of them.

70-100 porn stories every night? Good Lord, woman! That's gotta have some kind of effect. I remember back when I was taking gross anatomy and spending 4 hours a day in the lab and another 4 hours studying that when I'd encounter people on the street I'd unconsciously start dissecting them thinking things like, "I'd love to see her gastrocs" or "he would be a great cadaver".

I wonder what Laurel automatically thinks about. ;)

Not pandering, however I have to admit that "Absolution for Gretta MacClain" by KM was the best story I've read here. I don't say that lightly because I am an avid reader and know bad writing from good. What hooked me was the completely original story line, and of course, the Muff knows how to write. What can I say?

There are many good writers here at lit.

Bob Peale is fucking amazing. I'm waiting not-so-patiently for his latest to be up. He's been teasing me with snips of it in chat.

Nessus is beautiful at transporting you to another time and place. I love her work.

cymbidia's stories make me hunger for sexual submission. She's an excellent writer and knows how to take the reader on a journey they might never have thought possible.

In short, I don't read as many stories as I'd like to due to my addiction to the GB. I generally read authors who I've met here and enjoy, so I'm probably missing out on a lot of great stories.

p.s. Anybody know anything about the availability of "The Best of Literotica.com?" I ordered it from Amazon but they said there would be a 1-3 month wait.

have you read the bob peale take on my cowboy story? yes, this is a shameless plug, but he's not sharing feedback with me... for which he must be punished...

The B&N here said they could have it for me in 2 weeks if i ordered it tonight. Amazon ALWAYS takes forever anymore.

Hmm..I read ten or so a night, usually for the selfsame reasons as Mistress.

I don't have a favorite author as of yet, though the folks Ruby mentioned are easily the class of the bunch.

I'm also working on at least two story sketches I hope to have done and posted this coming week. Hopefully, they'll fly.

Sometimes I miss Ambro...

I read the stories, but inconsistently.

We'll generally skim through several, and one will catch us up, and we take turns, one reading aloud

while the other plays/does naughtynaughty things to the reader's sensitive, intimate places...

hot, erotic fun

I can relate ... my medical physiology class took over my entire life this semester. I looked @ people in a " scientific " way. My friends would tire of hearing about ADH & how the hypothalamus controls this & that ... it even seemed to invade my dreams. :)

p.s I do read the stories. :p

It's weird how little it affects me. I used to do graphic design for an agency, and I would literally have dreams involving the design of whatever campaign we were putting together. But the stories...there are some that stick with me in the way that good writing should, but I don't dream about them. I don't know what that means - whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.

When I was in college, I worked at a wholesale bakery. The first two weeks, the smell of baked goods made my mouth water the second I walked in the door. But on the third week, I didn't even notice the aroma anymore. I guess that's the same with the stories.

I used to...

When people liked my stories.

Then I got on the board and people took my personal views out on my stories and judged them by how they judged me.

That took the fun out of it.

Since then, I come here for another type of masturbation.

Laurelina, do they even turn you on anymore? I can imagine that they might not.

One of the reasons I decided not to be an OBGYN (other that the ridiculous hours) is that it absolutely killed my sex drive. After a long day doing pelvics and delivering babies, the last thing I wanted to see was another vulva.

Oliver, I've been thinking about this very topic recently. I was present at the birth of my best friend's baby a couple of weeks ago. All did not go as planned and the baby needed a vacuum extraction (turns out he had the cord wrapped around his neck three times). So, the on-call doctor (my friend had only picked out a midwife) was standing there with his hand up her vagina on the baby's head waiting for another contraction. For some odd reason, her contractions slowed down right then, so the doc was standing there for like five minutes - with his hand in her vagina. The whole time he was chatting with all of us and keeping an eye on the monitor.

The scene really cracked me up. I was imagining the doc going home to his wife after that and finding her sex even mildly interesting.

LOL! Some do. The bakery I worked at made these incredible double-fudge chocolate brownies. No matter how long I worked there, those brownies still made my stomach rumble - even though the other cookies and cakes did nothing for me. Every so often, a story will hit that button. Not all the time, but it does happen.

A friend of mine who knows I do the site asked me the same question, only she phrased it, "Doesn't your mind get all warped reading all those sex stories?" My answer to her was that since I don't happen to believe that sex is "dirty" or "wrong", I don't see why reading about it - or doing it, for that matter - would be harmful. Back to the bakery metaphor...smelling baked cookies all day long is not the same as eating cookies all day long. In real life, one must eat a balanced diet. But that doesn't mean I can't dig aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

From RubyfruitThe scene really cracked me up. I was imagining the doc going home to his wife after that and finding her sex even mildly interesting.

Exactly, Ruby. When you have a woman erupt amniotic fluid and blood all over you, it doesn't make you want to rush home for hot lovin'. And then, of course, there's also women with trich, BV, herpes, gonorrhea, all kinds of menstrual disorders, etc. I'm well aware of the range of pathology that goes on in the female reproductive tract, but I find that if I see it on a regular basis it spills over into my personal life and poisons my enjoyment of sex. I like sex too much to submit myself to that.

Laurel: I like the bakery metaphor! I'm glad that lots of sex stories isn't as numbing as liberal doses of actual poontang. ;)

Ruby, thank you. I'm amazed and humbled to be included with the others you named; even i know i don't really belong in such company - and i am *not* being falsely modest.

Muff, your genius continues to amaze, delight, and astound me. As i've said to you before in other places, some public, some private, i can't imagine how you manage to capture the truth, reality, honesty, and loving humanity of BDSM relationships. But you do, don't you, time and time and time again.

You story, It's Nilla For Me is a recent example. HOW could you get it all so right between them? The absolute necessity of immense trust by both partners toward each other and of themselves, the questioning of oneself at a basic level when that trust is shattered, and the need and hunger that remain, undimmed by outside events - it's all there. It's perfect. It's beautiful. And you aren't even one of us. HOW could you get it so right?

I am amazed, shaken really, at the marvelous job you do in your BDSM stories. Because of them, perhaps one or two people will see us less as sick freaks and more as people with complex relationships and motivations. People like them.

You are such a good writer, my friend.
Trite, easy words but i mean them with awed sincerity.

Yeah, yeah - like you've finished all the others. :D

Seriously, thanks for the vote of confidence - and the first 4 chapters of the new one (but not the one you really want - I really do hope to get that one up by the end of the year - it's at 70 pages and climbing) have been posted.

Oh goody...I'm gonna get punished, I'm gonna get punished...

I'm sorry pcg - the written feedback I've gotten has all been drivebys in chat...things like, "Oh great, now I have to go change again" and, "Well you could have warned me first," and "Wow".

Other than that, the only thing I can tell you is that the rewrite has been accessed about 2,000 times and has an average score of 4.25. I promise if I get any emails on it, you'll be the second to know ;)

On a side note, I do like pcg's stories, as well as ShyLady's - if she would just get off here barely clad derriere and write more!

I first came to Lit exclusively for the stories, and some indeed kick started a few good dreams for me!

Now I find I'm better stimulated by the poems, but continue to read the stories written by the familiar names I have met on the boards and in chat. Looking forward to reading more of your works, KillerMuffin.
