I know a lot of people are against making resolutions for New Year's and I'm one of them. But I do try to set goals for the coming year. This year I met all of my goals for 2016 except for travelling outside of the US.

So, answer any or all of the statements below. There's always room for personal self-growth, improvement, or just plain making ourselves do something new by doing something that scares or excites us. The key is to be realistic, so we have a chance of succeeding, instead of setting impossible goals that set us up for failure and disappointment.

This year...

- A habit I'm going to break.

- A new skill I'd like to learn or get better doing.

- A person or character trait that I admire and I want to be more like.

- A place I'd like to visit.

- A book I'd like to read.

- A new food I'd like to try.

- A financial goal to reach.

- I'm going to improve and enrich my knowledge by ________.

- I'm going to have a positive effect on someone else's life by ___________.

- I'm going to make an effort to stop ___________.

- I'm going to be good to myself by _______________.

Go :heart:

- I'm going to make an effort to stop being married.

- I'm going to be good to myself by getting my old name back.

A new skill I'd like to learn or get better doing......continue with training my dog

I gave up on specific resolutions around 1966. They never worked. Now I'm fairly general:

* Don't fuck up too bad.
* Don't hurt those close to me too bad.
* Don't blow cash on worthless shit.
* Try not to get too stoned.
* Don't argue politics.
* Try to stay alive.

All pretty basic, hey?

PS: And don't get caught taking contraband across borders.

I like all of those, Hypoxia ;)

Come on Litsters, what are the things you want to change or do or become or stop doing? :heart:

I think for me :

Spend more quality time with friends and family

Try not to judge people too much

Be more confident and smile more :D

I think I should expect more from the people in my life. I have high standards for myself but give everyone else a pass on...well...everything. I deserve to be given to, not just taken from. I'm going to expect to be cared for the way I care for others. If these people can't do that...bye.

During this year I will reduce to half time in my work. So:

I will be an effective house-husband for my still full-time working wife.

I will take bee keeping to a more productive level my queens and the weather permitting.

I will reconnect with some very dear friends.

I will take my wife to her home town she hasn't visited in 30 years.

I will bake apple pies the way my son loves them.
