I was resolved, resigned and prepared for Hillary Clinton to be President in 2016. A Trump victory seemed beyond the realm of possibility, especially in light of the polls and the pundits. When Trump won, I was surprised and somewhat excited. My son told me he was truly afraid. At the time, I couldn't relate. This time, I can. I don't know it I would say I was "afraid", but I'd be unhappy and concerned with a demented old man as President. The Democrat's record and behavior over the past 4 years don't conform to my values. President Trump has done remarkably well in the face of withering opposition. I just have this feeling that most Americans don't want Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as our leaders. We can see what their society looks like and it isn't what we want. This is the first election I can remember where I will actually vote with enthusiasm and hope. If Trump wins, the Democrats will be crushed, and that's a good thing. If Biden wins, I wonder if his opposition will pull the same bullshit the Democrats pulled with impeachment, etc. The difference would be Biden crumbling under pressure because of his dementia.

I watched Vice-president Biden's drive-in speech. The honk if you love Jesus aspect of it was quite comical. The guy with the horn really got under his skin; he snapped at him three times (maybe four). President Trump uses ridicule, Biden shows his flashes of anger, not cool. But considering how many people have already voted the incident is probably moot. Hell, I'll bet I get some professions of admiration from those like his "fighting spirit." It is a bit galling to be lectured at by a guy who has been in his basement about how American Patriots cannot be intimidated (my words). Maybe he could have used a little more fighting spirit. That's all I got. Enjoy your morning.

Another four years of trump and you just might get your banana republic.

How do you figure? Doesn't that seem FAR more likely under a Democrat regime? Look at Democrat cities and Democrat police forces.

Yes.

They are a shining example of light and of hope and prosperity...

Someplace else.

You have a demented old man as President.

Now you get to pick between two.

I don't know what to make of Trump, but he isn't right. He seems like a megalomaniac with a very loose grip on reality. Yet you have to give him credit for what he's accomplished despite truly evil opposition on almost every front. The Democrats; The media. They impeached him on completely fabricated premises. They spied on his campaign. Yet they won't investigate legitimate charges against the Biden Campaign. Last time I voted for the third party guy, whoever that was. My vote doesn't count in my state anyway. But this year despite his shortcomings, I do not feel like I'm voting for the lesser of two evils. My hope is that a successful second term will lend momentum toward newer better future candidates.

They may be old, but neither of them suffer dementia currently. There are plenty of legitimate things to be critical of both, but dementia isn’t one of them.

The differences between them are pretty sharp too:
One of them has been largely factual and honest (very honest by politician standards)
One of them is a pathological liar (record numbers of lies and inaccuracies, peddles conspiracy theories)

One of them is extremely humble, sincerely cares about the well being of others, has the confidence and the wisdom to listen to others
One of them is thin skinned, egotistical, irrational, and impulsive. Thinks he knows more about everything than anyone, including subjects he has zero knowledge of

One of them understands the values of science and respects factual data
One of them doesn’t

One of them has reasoned plans for pandemic response, health care, environment, foreign policy, infrastructure, etc
One of them says he will...so far we haven’t seen any (unless you count drinking shots of bleach to cure Covid-19)

One of them sees an urgent need to strengthen relations with foreign allies, recognizes significant threats from N.Korea, Iran and others
One of them thinks he’s so tough that we don’t need friends and allies, and still doesn’t see that he’s been played by Kim Jong Un

The list could go on....

We agree about trump being a megalomaniac. But we differ on the rest. About the impeachment, maybe you weren’t following the congressional hearing but there was a mountain of evidence. There has been a lot of digging into the Biden’s as well, they just haven’t come up with any evidence at all yet. The Trump administration has been trying desperately, but there just isn’t anything to substantiate malfeasance. I recommend reviewing the transcripts from the impeachment hearings, particularly the testimony of Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Marie Yovanovich, Bill Taylor etc. The Biden conspiracy theory was repeatedly drummed up by the likes of Devin Nunes, and was completely refuted by every single witness as being either empty rumors or being Russian propaganda that ran counter to US security interests.

Mr. Biden is clearly in the early stages of dementia and that will progress rapidly during his first term. Traditionally, in uncertain times, the electorate is not likely to introduce MORE uncertainty by electing a new leader that campaigns on the promise of a dark winter ahead and higher taxes. And many of the attributes you associated with Mr. Biden are not true. After being in power at the highest level of government for 47 years, the people said "We want Donald Trump." That's his legacy.

OK, we get it. You think Donald Trump will be re-elected.

Kool story, bro.

It isn’t clear at all. That’s just political maneuvering, and many on the left have tried to say the same about trump. The problem is there isn’t any medical evidence in either case. Your speculations are yours, nothing wrong with that, but “the people” have not said they support trumps reelection. Election isn’t till Tuesday. The attributes I attribute to Biden are pretty much supported by his decades long record, doesn’t mean you have to agree with them or like him. The narrative that some Republicans are so desperately trying to push just has no basis in facts (senile, incompetent, socialist, blah blah blah). Like I said, there is plenty to be critical of Biden! He isn’t my favorite Democrat, but I have yet to hear the trump campaign land one factual criticism on him ... that speaks volumes about the trump campaign if you ask me.

Trump is an authoritarian at heart and has made authoritarian moves such as hiring Barr to squash investigations, reward the loyal/punish the disloyal and putting a muzzle on the CDC for a couple of things

And Social Media. Last time it was the pothead Gary Johnson.
The candidates simply could not get worse.

I don't know how you could look at Mr. Biden and not conclude he is spiralling down.Even the he served under knows. I can't imagine a less enthusiastic endorsement."Don't underestimate Joe's ability to screw things up." The energy and emotional engagement between the two men is so stark.

Did Biden do like trump did in the last campaign and tell his followers to beat them up and he'd pay their bail.
