ok, i made myself a box of that Pasta Roni fettucini alfredo, only i substituted regular spagetti for the noodles that come with it. the shit's doing wierd shit to me. after every bite i feel a little queasy, and then i get all dizzy. i think it's food poisoning or something, but the stuff is too damn tasty for me to stop! i take a bite and let the queasiness and such wear off (takes about 10 minutes), then i eat another bite or two.

i paid 77¢ for the shit, and after this it's back to pb'n'j. goddamnit, i'm gonna get my money's worth out of it if it kills me!! i'm sick and tired of pb'n'j!

Eaten... Ramen... for the past week.... everyday.... please kill me....

ramen doesn't make me WANT to throw up, it actually goes through with the threat.

oh, and i'm just a poor college student, damnit! do i look like i'm made of money?
:p

Years of poverty make me think I should have some tips about stretching the food budget, but I can't think of anything besides shoplifting and dumpster diving which is definitely not for you.

Love your AV BTW.

You get what you pay for. *snicker*

Sorry, I just had to say it!

Ramen IS a lot better.

I have to go with everyone else here, Ramen is much more versitle, and even comes with recipies on the back. Get some carrots and celery and you can make stir fry. That's how I set off the smoke detectors back in the day.

Campbells makes a variety of tasty soups.

Frozen mixed veggies are cheap and easy to prepare, as well as being extremely healthy.

Macaroni and cheese is always great.

Rice is cheap, and good, with a little soy & veggies.

Potatoes are cheap. Poke em with a fork, stick em in the microwave for 5 minutes or so, and viola! Starches galore.

Here's one of my cheapie faves: buy a can of kidney beans, a can of stewed tomatoes (preferably seasoned), and a can of canned zucchini (you can omit this if you don't like zucchini or can't find it). Drain the beans, then throw all three cans in a pan. Mix well. Heat. Eat. It sounds strange, but it's excellent! AND it makes enough food for 2-3 people or meals. If you wanna splurge, buy a package of tortillas. Warm one over the burner on your stove, spread a little margarine/butter/whatever, and enjoy it with your stew.

oh yeah

Love the AV, I have such a crush on Bruce, and thanks to someone who shall remain nameless he knows it too.
Damn I'm such a geek!

I find the recipes on the back of Ramen are quite complicated, and I wouldn't be putting Ramen in a recipe that elaborate, assuming I had all the ingredients. I'm not knocking Ramen, I just bough 30 things of it (for only $3!) and I have been eating it too much. That's all.

Throw some peperoni in it. Makes it much better. Just toss it in at about the same time you put the noodles in.

The problem with Ramen is it's nutrionally valueless by itself, so living on the stuff a long time isn't something I would reccomend if you don't have veggies or something to add to it.

figured it out. i should eat more. hadn't eaten in over 24 hours save for ReeseSticks, pizzalicious pringles, and tortilla chips. anything else would have been fine, but that thick alfredo sauce just drop-kicked me stomach.

oh, and (at least for me) Ramen sucks ass. i take a bite of it and it tries to fight its way back up my esophagus something fierce.

maccaroni and cheese... i've done that to death already, thanks.

veggies... eeeew.. (the potatos are nice, though)

what i usually do, though, is noodles and tuna.

Tuna! Tuna's good for you. I would also reccomend you get your hands on some breakfast cereal. It can be fairly cheap and filling.

The hell planet are you on? I paid $4.48 for a box of Quaker toasted oat squares the other day. Super markets Jack my day up with cereal prices. Honeycomb was $3.99 Cereal is not cheap, at least not in LA.
