This site is getting dafter

For the ten years I've been here Laurel championed free speech, then she trimmed. The AH usta be Dodge City with constant hostility. Its slowly changing to an old ladies tea social when never is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day. Verily the snowflakes will go after real PC standards.

And yet it still gives you posting space here.

And I'm not in the habit of complaining about this site, which is offering its services for free
Not for free! They get revenue.:cattail:

Missing from the discussion is this observation: If this thread were about writing it would be a lonely orphan.

That only applies to the vanity/nonerotica/"Oh, my gosh, I'm reinventing the wheel" threads you start several times a day, James--and even some of those are met with extensive discussion. Writing threads get a lot of interest and discussion on the AH.

I think someone should just put this thread down. There's no point to it. We all know each others views and really, I'd rather talk writing. I come here to relax and have fun and okay, I humbly apologize for any non-AH suitable comments made.

What exactly keeps you from creating a writerly threaqd? You throw poo like PILETTE and never start threads....THE PILETTE WAY. So get off your ass and start one.

Chloe, me dear, you know of what you speak.
You need not apologise.

I shall accept the challenge and see what brilliantly original authorly topics occur to me over the next 24 hours.

What's kept me from it? Timidity. I have not your brash and assertive self confidence. I'm better at coffee and being a slightly timid smartass :D whose overly serious sometimes and silly at others.

I have just been notified that my story "A Christmas Future" has been rejected...
It's always you. You're rejected a lot. Maybe you have a terminal case of bad vibes re: LIT. Yeah, it's karma.

Well don't tell us, tell them.

It's entirely possible that your story has nothing to do with partisan politics and current events and that they simply made a mistake after a cursory inspection. Submit again and point out what you think the mistake was. Simple as that.

Yes I will do that, thanks for one or two sensible on thread responses and not for a load of political reference carp.

Rubi dear, it isn't about Mandela, he is a character in a parody

I have just been notified that my story "A Christmas Future" has been rejected on the following grounds:-

****In response to overwhelming feedback from readers (who have expressed that they are feeling bombarded by the constant political news, and have requested that Lit remain somewhere they can relax and refresh), we have decided at this time not to publish partisan political articles or anything directly related to the U.S. election. We staunchly support political speech, opinions, the U.S. First Amendment, and freedom of expression - but we feel that such content is not a fit for Literotica at this time.****

It is satirical, humourous erotica (I think) and features Prince Charles, Nelson Mandela, and Bill Clinton, plus plays on other lesser known names but relevant to Clinton's era in completely fantasy and unlikely situations.

What relevance has it to modern day politics? None whatsoever!

I agree that rejection of a story for that is weird and capricious, especially in view of the extreme fetishes that are permitted here. Readers could do just the same as they now do with BDSM, nonconsent, gay, incest, etc. categories when they don't personally find this material acceptable but that is here in stories--they could be adults and just close the story when they lose interest in it and go on to another one.

I have managed to overturn one or two rejections and stuff now posted. S'funny they don't apologise for mistakes, where I would.

Sorry, got to side with Snowy on this one. It's a BS reason for a rejection. Nobody is forcing readers to peruse the material. Furthermore, unless there is an actual disclaimer somewhere on the site that says political content isn't allowed right now, then there is no legitimate reason why the story should be rejected. Laurel only hurts her own site if she allows her decisions they to be controlled by public censorship.

Poor snowy. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a story rejected because two people were having sex in it.

I suspect snowy has sufficiently annoyed Laurel that she's extra-critical of his submissions and exploits any grounds for rejection. Or as I said above: bad vibes at LIT.

Hypoxia, I felt that and stated that some time back and I was basically flamed;
"Oh they would never do that" sort of thing.
I stand.
