Inspired by a talk radio show that I find funny, I am trying to start another one of those question/comment threads.

The premise is a simple one, you beging "This might be a dumb question, but..." and then ask a question. Hopefully someone at some point will see your question and have an answer. Questions can range from serious to silly, however the mood strikes you.

I hope this takes off and we have some fun with it.

This might be a dumb question, but how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Please don't resist...I was just trying to fill space with a strange, dumb question.

This might be a dumb question, but toilet paper...over the top or underneath??

Over the top. I've been known to turn the roll around at other people's houses if it's backwards. Yes, I'm that OCD

This might be a dumb question, but why are men's and women's shoes sized differently?

That's a good, dumb question. I've never heard an explanation for that. Hopefully someone will drop in and enlighten us!

TMBADQ but why do mens and womens shirts don't button from the same side?

TMBADQ but why do mens and womens shirts don't button from the same side?
Because most people are right-handed, it's easier for most people to button a garment which has the buttons on the right.

When buttons were first invented, they were hand-made, and therefore quite expensive.
Women who could afford buttons on their dresses could also afford to hire maids to help them dress.

The buttons on dresses were on the maid's right, which is the wearer's left.

AndYetAnotherDQ When the Prez is out tootin' his own horn for days on end to get reelected, who runs the country? And equally, isn't the other guy a governor or something, who's running his state these days? And how do you spell reelected, re-elected? Looks better with a - , I think.
