This just in from John Kerry:

When we were attacked, the whole damned world understood why we invaded Afghanistan. Now most of the world feels differently. Of course you know that, but for some reason--no doubt having to do with your blinkered partisan politics--refuse to acknowledge it.

BTW

Nothing has changed from 9/11

The reasons we went to Afghanistan prevail today

The only thing that changed is the Dums doing a great job SHITTING on us all

DEATH TO DUMZ!

It shpuld be noted

Political realities 101.

NATO has outlived it's purpose. It has no value beyond that as a political and economic organization. The very purpose of its formation is non-existant now. Fulda Gap is an excersize engaged in by arm chair generals hopelessly stuck in the past. Our presence in Germany is nothing more than a convenient base of operations taking place elsewhere. When it's been fully amortized, we'll be gone.

The French have been actively working against the best interests of the US even when their best interests coincided with our own. This has been a fact of life since the "DeGualle Doctrine" came into effect. It started with their attempt to destroy our economy by rying to corner the gold market in 1968. (Which is why we are no longer on the gold standard.) Continued with their deal with the Arabs over oil in '73 and has shown no sign of abatement regardless of the damage they're doing to their own country and culture. They have shown themselves willing to sacrifice themselves to damage us. And this has nothing to do with Iraq. It goes back damn near three generations.

Spain hasn't had balls since we beat them in 1898 and Italy hasn't had any since the Romans. Western Continental Europe is an intellectual wasteland in its death throws. But more than willing to drag us down into the abyss with her. To convince us that mutual suicide is a great thing to experience.

Their blood is thin and their will is weak.

I finally got around to watching Kerry's shining moment on YouTube.
"Elitist" may be too kind.

If this had been any other politician, it might have flown.

This is amazing. I keep lambasting the Republican Party for ineptitude and then they allow people like John Kerry to get up and talk.

Why do I worry?

Ha, Mallard Fillmore! The Ziggy of political cartoons. :D

The most amazing thing is, that in this year when the Republicans have nothing of their own making to be proud of, a poorly told Kerry joke is the best they've come up with. You know they've been lying in wait for a moment like this, and nothing better has come along. How sad for them.

YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU MEANT!

Dont gimme fucking flowers at Embassy's and candle lighting
What about all those countries that let you kidnap people and torture them in secret prisons on their soil? Surely that shows goodwill?

Although it does say something for Kerry that he manages to blow an election that he's not even in.

Kerry, the intellectual of the two? Poorly told doesn't describe it. He forgot to mention Bush at all. Then he does his usual and refuses to apologize at first. Blamed everyone else including the White House who knew he was joking. It must taken the whole Democratic Party sitting on him to get him to apologize.

But it's gonna work.

And how sad is that for all of us?

I considered adding that too... but it's so much more in vogue to bash the President.

I could give a fuck either way as long as my brother gets back safe.

Both are IVY league. Kerry went to Nam, Bush did everything under the sun to avoid it. The entire us Senate has one person in the armed service...one person....lets talk about how much Kerry is privileged and how much Bush, the Veep, Rumsult and what have you fought in a war. If ashcfroft was still around we could still vote for the dead man. He lost to won. Sorry, I can't allow anymore bullshit about respect our soldiers while these politicians send nobody to serve. You are expendable though they or their sibs are either too smart or too busy..........rock on....

In the West, Italy Spain etc, They didnt KNOW and are PURSUING the CIA guys that did it

NYT Admits They Lied About Kerry's Speech

The New York Times has issued a correction for their article about John Kerry’s slam against the military, in which they did not even print his actual words: Corrections: For the Record - New York Times.

A Political Memo article yesterday about the fallout for Senator John Kerry over what he called a “botched joke” referred incompletely to the differences between prepared remarks and what he actually said about the Iraq war to students at Pasadena City College in California on Monday. Mr. Kerry not only dropped the word “us,” but he also rephrased his opening sentence extensively and omitted a reference to President Bush. Mr. Kerry’s aides said that the prepared text read: “Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush.” What he said: “You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

This is the Times’ time-honored modus operandi—publish a shockingly biased story leaving out important information, then a day or two later, a belated correction to give them cover.

Pergy

Even SEAN could answer your INCORRECT assertion that we LOST the good will

EVEN SEAN! :p

Kerry may motivate some Republicans to vote who otherwise might have sat it out because of their disgust with the party. As far as being a major motivator, though, I don't see that happening.

I find the focus on Kerry to be more and more amusing. Bush expects everyone to be up in arms because Kerry insulted the troops, when Bush's stupid comment of "bring it on" actually endangered them.

Pretty unbelieveable if you ask me.

I haven't heard that one.

I did hear "bring it on."

I think it was right after I heard "Mission Accomplished."

Since I have ya here...

What do you make of the hype over this report of findings showing that the Saddam regime was still pursuing and/or had some nuclear weapon making capabilities after the end of the '91 conflict?
