Where ever they feel the best, of course.
And i've seen you gaining some ground out in the other threads, too.
Good work... for a newb.

I am quite a shy person so i will stick to trying to post 1 a day instead of 10. Most of the time i like being a wallflower. :)
Wallflowers are *gorgeous*. I'm so glad we finally got one of our own here! Welcome, MidnightsBlue.

I like the cartoon, but I meant to quote & respond to something such as "Was it what you thought it would be?"Of Course not. What used to be boring has now become Byzantine:D
Take for example the whole "The Bulletin Board Artist Formerly Known As Bratcat/Cath/Hillary Rodham /Cougar Mellencap" thing.;) , combine that with people's power ranger-like abillity to transform their appearance, and the abillity to change a signature as if one were ambidextrous, and I can't keep the players straight without a scorecard.:D . But in a fun way!
Making the effort to return & reply helps me understand the humor. I have a telecommuting job. I don't know how the rest of you make the time to visit so often. These aren't judgements, just first impressions. No criticism implied.

I'll just slide my palms down your back & sides until I can rest them on your hips. From there I can massage the stress from those tired lumbar muscles with my thumbs. ;) Lead on to the next thread, Cymbidia.
Care to join the line , anyone?

So, are y'all settling in, then?

See, it's not so hard to simply jump in and then just keep going. One only has to hold one's breath for a few scary moments (relatively speaking) there at the beginning. After that, the pulse of the place begins to hold one up and the struggle to swim with the rest of us becomes pure pleasure.

Right?

"coming out"

Dear Cym: your thread brought me out of the woodwork a couple of weeks ago. I may be slow; but I am posting and loving it. Thanks.

Keep it up, stargazer

cym, I believe that should be "So, are all y'all settking in, then?" since you're using the plural form of y'all. The southern syntax is not my strongest suit, so it may be "So, are y'all all settling in, then?" but it seems to me I've heard it used the former way more often.

It is the holiday season, a time for coming in out of the cold to warm oneself with a cup of good cheer, a moment by the fire, or the magical inner glow which sustains us through the worst of times, called friendship.

Welcome, new and old alike, to the party! Sit down, stay awhile, can I fetch you something to wet your whistle?

Now, can we squeeze a paragraph out of you? What's your weakness? What topic will get a longer response?

Wanna talk about sex? ;)

Bumping my own thread - the height of hubris!

However, there seem to be a bunch of really high quality newbies showing up of late. It makes me wonder if there's not a bunch more of y'all still standing behind the curtains, quietly observing, not yet sure you want to step into the party.

Please do.

We want you to come play, come post, come laugh and sing and tell your stories. We want your experiences and your humor. We want your poems and your pathos.

It's not hard.

Just post.
Ten posts a day: that's the legal minumum for newbies.
Five if you get it cleared ahead of time with either KillerMuffin or Never or Mensa or LukkyKnight. Just PM them to get the okay.

C'mon in...

*peeking out from behind the curtains*

trying to think of a really good story or song. Do I know a poem? Oh, the pressure!

bumping your own thread

But it's an important one, and it saves you repeating yourself . It deserves to be read by the visitors

In My Humble Opinion (acronyms sometimes are confusing to us newbies)

Posting here is about inviting your inner voice into the daylight. You'll never find a better place. I have not. Sure, there are a few scary individuals, whose av's and attitudes make you cringe a little. But! This is a big place. It is so easy to avoid anyone here, and equally as easy to connect with anyone. It's easier than RL. Don't feel overly self-conscious either. I love it when I see a poster with thousands of posts misspelling(sp?) or using improper grammar. It gives me permission to be less than perfect as well.
This entire thread is devoted to that very dynamic: Giving permission to the reader to bring themselves - no more, no less - into the conversation.
I have heard that 1 negative comment has more influence than 10 positive comments. The same is true, here. The invitation to the reader is to look beyond the 10 percentile and join the party.

To hold the beauty of the rose,
You must embrace some thorns.

As a newbie, I find that at first the BB can be a bit overwhelming. However it, like most things, appears more intimidatig than the reality of this fantasy world. Be not afraid of your posts, I ve decided. I post my thoughts, observations and opinions, much like most everyone else. And the others can take them or leave them. Agree or disagree. I'm sure some will take note, others will ignore. Some will respond others will move on. I will continue to post.

Don't be fooled by my registration date. I joined Lit then and started reading the stroies, then moved into the chat. There I met the lovely Mistress of the Rain and gained friends in the tub, such as Perky, Tulips and Southern to name too few. Only within the last couple weeks have I been posting here. And I find the free exchange of ideas capitvating, alluring (like some of the ladies).
