This is the only way the GOP can win…by cheating.

453,000 Purged from Oklahoma voter registration rolls

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt alongside state election officials announced on Wednesday the removal of over 453,500 voter registrations.

Since January 1, 2021, officials say Oklahoma election officials have removed 97,065 deceased voters, 143,682 voters who moved out-of-state, 5,607 felons, 14,993 duplicate registrations, and 194,962 inactive voters who were canceled during the address verification process.

I didn't mention dead people in my comment. Maybe re-read for better comprehension.
If roll maintenance includes removing deceased voters, dead people are included by default. You didn't exclude dead people. Weak sauce. :)

Yes, I mentioned that I don't believe voter roll maintenance is cheating.

I also mentioned that I believe any maintenance after August should be illegal.

Neither of these things mentions dead people nor does either of them prevent dead people from being removed from voter rolls.

Of course I’m for purging the voters that shouldn’t be in the voter rolls, but I’d like to know if people are aware that they’ve been removed. I’m sure that OK is purging more people that aren’t GOP voters for the chance that they wouldn’t check/fix their status before it was too late. The almost 200k of “inactive” voters worries me. In my searches, there seems to be too many convenient ways on how you become an “inactive” voter in OK.

Same happened in Iowa. It’s all good with the dead voters, those who moved and legitimately should not be asking the registered voters. Exactly what one must do to remain registered is the part that gets a little fuzzy. The state’s website does a good job of delineating who can register and how to do so. You can also verify if you are registered, but what isn’t defined is under what circumstance you can be removed. We do have Election Day/same Day registration, but for those on the fringes of having permanent residence etc. It can be a challenge. I’m not concerned for myself, I vote in everything from President to school board elections, but I can see how, to some, it can be a confusing process.

I guess I wish there was as much effort put into encouraging registration as there is purging records. Participation by eligible voters should be everyone’s goal, regardless of party.

Typically purges amount to a large number of valid voters being removed. It's good practice for every voter to check their registration status frequently.

Why didn't say so! :)

Yes, but there are some people that as the get older: have mobility issues, no longer drive, not tech savvy, or don’t have access to the internet. Those are the people that are going to be turned away at the polls regardless of their party affiliation.

I wil go out and say that purging voter polls is inefficient and, on the whole, a waste of taxpayer money and the time of election officials. No one, from whatever state or county SA resides in, to Kris Kobach having the backing of a president and the federal government, have shown that dead people are voting in a purposeful manner to affect any election at any time ever in history. It is, to beat a dead horse, a solution to a nonexistent problem.

i think 6 months out from the election should be a cut-off date, with the counties responsible mandated to send out notifications within 1 week of the removal of their names, plus expedited adjustments made to any incorrect removal PLUS compensation if it's not made right within 1 month of it being challenged.
