Yes, something I often say to myself as I write, but in this case I thought of it as an opening line, but froze because it was like a buffet with so many choices that you want to eat them all, but not explodelike the character in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. I still cannot rewatch that scene.

So many questions.
Who is the narrator?
Who are they talking to?
Is it a meta story about a writer (again)?
What is "this" that did not turn out as expected?
How DOES "this" turn out?
figuring out the category might help guide these choices...

Possibility of a reality crossover?

Couple banging away when the writer walks in going, "No, no, no. This is not going how I expected."

Cue male protagonist pulling out and turning to face the intruder, his partner still on all fours looking over their shoulder.

"This is all wrong, you're not supposed to be so submissive and as for you..."

The writer then proceeds to argue with their characters, all whilst they remain naked. Do they have to re-engineer the scene, act parts out, plead with their characters to do more, less or something altogether different.

Isn't the thread title also the current motto of dear Vlad (your friendly neighbourhood, Trump and Brexit supporting dictator) Putin?

I'm picturing a sexist pig of a boss, who always has his way with his pretty young secretaries, until they get fed up with his sexual demands and leave in shame after a few weeks. Only his latest secretary is made of sterner stuff, and he suddenly finds himself hog-tied and ball-gagged while she pegs him with a giant strap-on.

wouldn't the ball gag make it hard for him to talk?

could set it in a community theater rehearsal... at a nudist colony?

Don't you just hate when characters take over and lead you down the wrong path because they are evil?
