Second of all, Siren will always be Siren. Ramlick will always be Ramlick. Neither one of them have a steak's chance in a dog dish of changing the other one of them. Accept what you cannot change blah blah blah and all that rot.

Ramlick, have you considered apologizing? You were wrong, you know it. Simply apologize. Then do the intelligent thing and ignore Siren and Rosebud. They probably won't say anything nice to you anyway? Why bother reading it unless you just want to get angry and continue the fight? Siren 'plays' that way with everyone, not just you. We don't censor you, why should we censor her? Just because you were insulted and offended?

Siren, Rosebud? Have ya'll considered just ignoring Ramlick? It's not like he has anything to say that you would consider interesting anyway.

From detante a peace may somehow follow. This isn't in the interests of being goody goody, or letting the other get away with a slight to you. This is in the interests of keeping this Board together. Not all of us were part of the original problem, and now we are finding ourselves getting embroiled in a fight that seems to be driving some people off. I believe its called sacrificing for the common good.

KillerMuffin, I said I was wrong to send e-mails six days ago. I said I should have responded in the public forum, even if that meant humiliating people for all to see. Since then, I have read a number of negative posts about me in an obviously choreographed and coordinated attempt at turning opinion against me. If you've followed closely, you would have seen that I've been silent.

That's the problem when people butt into arguments between people: they don't know all the facts, and end up taking sides with people who they wouldn't have had they known all the facts.

If Siren, and others, want to keep attacking and harrassing me, I will continue to answer them. I'm sure many people are enjoying the controversy, despite what they say.

Come on people, I can think of only FIVE people on this board that continuously and maliciously cause problems. The rest of the 'fights' are small spats that are forgotten or worked out. Now there are FIVE people who truly cause problems and I'd say about sixty other posters on this board that I can easily recognize.
In fact, I can only think of one problem maker who has been actively posting his brand of discontent these last few days. Now, one person can do nothing, sixty people reacting by sinking to his level can. Whose board is it anyways?
Laurels? She owns it and monitors it she's only one person.
No, it's our board. The real problem makers aren't going to go away but the problem itself will if we act like mature adults and ignore them. If people want to leave this board I'll miss them, but I'm not leaving it myself, nor am I going to be silenced by the classroom bullies.
So, what if you get a nasty e-mail? Delete. These people want responses - ignore them. Refuse to post to them. Everyone here has been called names, everyone here should know those kinds of words are spoken by morons who crave some sort of reaction.

I had been hoping to avoid this, thinking the whole subject would just die away and things would get back to "Normal" (whatever the hell that might be). But I figured, What the hell? Why not share some of my observations.

Ok, so first off... Does anyone realize that the only negativity the last couple of days has been people complaining about the negativity? It reminded me of an old joke Robin Williams used to do... "In the dictionary under Irony it says, 'See Irony'". LMAO... That always used to crack me up, but if you think about it, it's something that really applies in this case.

Now, this thingy with Siren and the emails... You have no idea how much I fucking regret letting that genie out of the bootle. In my time here I have had a reputation for being, well, let's say "outspoken". Part of the joy that comes along with being that guy is getting emails from people that aren't happy with what you say. I know I've easily received over a 100 such emails in my time, and the one I posted the other day was pretty mild in comparison to most. What Siren needs to realize is that if you mouth off to people, some of them are gonna answer you. It's how you handle it that makes all the difference. When I posted that email the other day, it was the punch line to a joke. I honestly couldn't give a flying fuck what some jack ass wants to email me, I've got better things to do with my time. If I had known it was going to spawn something like this, I would have thought of a different joke.

Oh, well. Sometimes you're fucked if you do and fucked if ya don't.

Ok, back to the irony.

What's funny to me is that while this whole "question" of negativity has been going on, there's been some amazing discussion going on in other threads. I guess it's just a matter of where you look. If you look at my literature thread, or on Jade's after you die thread, you'll see some very thought provoking, and very positive posts. You'll also see that when the trolls make an appearance on those threads, they are completely ignored. Obviously, if someone is unable to add to the thread in an intelligent, or at least entertaining, manner, then there's not a whole lot of sense in addressing their comments. All you do when you tell one of these people to shut up or to go away is to validate what passes for their egos and encourage them to do more. If they stop getting the attention here, they'll move on to someplace else. I know that's been said a 1000 times (at least), but it's very true and has been proven in dozens of cases on this board alone.

Finally, one last thing about all this that is funny to me - the whole discussion on negativity is no different from when jack asses like me complain because there is too much flirting going on, or how there's not enough serious threads, or that the newbies don't know how to post right. Ya know what? Who fucking cares?? I think I finally realized that the last time the subject of flirting came up. Laurel made some great comments on the cycles that this board goes thru, and when she did, the fucking light bulb went on and I realized just what a waste of time it is to sit here and bitch about how people post.

What it all comes down to is just what Never said in her post above. If you're not happy with the direction this board is taking, do something about it. If you want to see
happy threads, post happy threads and make happy posts on them. You're never going to get rid of all the shit-stirrers in this world, the trick is to not let them get to ya. And I'm telling ya, the easiest way to get rid of those fucks is for EVERYONE to shun and ignore them. Don't mention them in your posts, don't mention their comments in your posts, don't even allude to their existence in your posts. If everyone continues to be themselves, the board will take care of itself.

Hopefully now everyone can relax and see just how silly this whole thing really is. There's too much good that goes on here to dwell on one tiny, insignificant aspect of it.

THANK YOU Lasher. You and Never are COMPLETELY right. I'm enjoying many of the other discussions myself. I need to learn to listen to my own advice. I opened up this can of worms with my "Negativity" thread, and I regret it with all of my heart. I'm moving along, nothing more to see here.

It's nice to see people behaving more reasonably now, even if there is still an undercurrent of disingenousness and revisionism to it all.

In my view, the moral of this story is:

1. If you attack somebody, expect them to attack you.
2. Keep all the attacking to the boards, not in e-mails. (That seems to bug people.)
3. Never under any circumstances stoop so low as to post someone's personal information on a board in your attempt to strike back. It's a very toadish thing to do, a complete violation of decency, and the worst thing that was done during this entire episode by far.
