This Could Present a Quandry!

For Box; and a note to Lovey.

Thanks for being honest about it. It's a real quandry, not to say a quandary, besides.

The current fodder for comedians is wonderful, coming from your party--be it
Palin, Bachman, Santorum, Cain, Gingerich-- the latter offering $2.50 gasoline if elected (somehow getting oil cos. to reduce the price at the pump by 1/3!).

Further, Romney is aping the loonies at best, and at worst, in their thrall, talking of defunding Plannned Parenthood, and criticizing HIS OWN healthcare plan in Mass!

Careful, box, your porn supply--not to say, the dissemination of your writings--- may be interrupted in case your Repugnicants drive out the Muslim, foreign-born socialist, aka Big O.

===

PS Lovey, welcome back. I gather your knickers are untwisted a bit, and you're feeling better.

:rose:

I read that Owebama's trying to lower the price of oil $20/barrel. Maybe $2.50 is doable and he knows it.

That's a head-scratcher all right, Box.

Better put on the old thinking cap.
LOL! Yes, you know things are bad for the Repubs when Box, himself, is suddenly having stray thoughts of "Hey, this guy might be worse for the country than Obama...."

Don't worry, Box, I'm sure, as Stella points out, that if the Republicans nominate Ricky, then Ron or Newt will go on the ballot as an independent and save you from this tricky dilemma. :)

Social issues will not decide this election, economics will. If the economy's booming, then people are concerned about or indifferent to such things as abortion, gay rights, the environment and suchlike.

If the economy improves sufficiently enough to put the electorate at ease, then Obama wins a second term. If it doesn't, he's gone. Romney will be the Republican nominee (after a bruising floor fight) since he's a moderate and will calm the fears of the undecided.

Look for a Republican controlled House and Senate with a veto proof majority in 2012 in any case. The grass roots are pissed at the economy, gas prices, Obamacare and the burgeoning deficit and will be electing Republican's in droves come November. As Tip O'Neill once said, "All politics are local." :D

And then there's the other grass roots, who are pissed off at the GOP and the teaparty hucksters.

Some men, personally, might be indifferent to things like women's reproductive rights, but to many of us the topic is part of the economic hardships we face. If we lose control over our own bodies, if women become chattel to the fetus, how the fuck will women be able to keep any jobs at all?

I wish people would be a little smarter about this. Gas prices are the only reason anyone is considering the group of monkeys over in the Republican party.

Other then racism and ignorance, of course.

Sorry if the truth upsets you, but there it is. There are simply not enough people who think as you do on certain social issues to influence a national election, much less a local one (Remember California?). It's frustrating, I know, but it's reality.

Don't blame the current societal attitudes solely on the GOP, it's all of America.;)

Well said, Stella. The conservative/republicans have always found it difficult to understand that theirs is not the only view of the world.

Jimmy and his ilk would hate it if Obama were successful in bringing down gas prices. He would take that real personal.

I do believe we have, in this thread, the first fully "coming election" thread of this presidential year campaign.

No, the thread is about porn. And things such as abortion and birth control and other subjects of interest to us.

I thought you were a real boy by now.

Naaah. I'm thinking about sitting this election out. I dont think it makes a difference who gets elected. They win, we lose.

I thought you were talking about how much you hate Obama -- so much that you would almost rather vote for a lunatic instead. Luckily some of your friends are smarter than that:

Yeah, it's fairly typical that Box doesn't seem to understand what a thread is about even when he's initiated the thread. :D

That is my school of thought at the moment. I'm hoping something changes.

If it's Romney, I doubt I'll vote at all, let the chips fall where they may.

If it's Santorum, I.....

will most likely vote for Obama:mad:

I'm really hoping for a santorum candidacy. :)

You know the thing is although I don't believe in God, I believe in people's right to and to worship as they choose. It seems that lately God is becoming a bad word.

Rhode Island recently had a situation where a prayer banner that hung in Cranston West high school since 1963 had to be taken down becasue one girl, one! Complained. The school voted origianlly and said it stayed.

She went to court. The judge ordered it taken down because it offended her. One kid in 50 years. So now thousands start protesting what about our rights? It went to court and it is still down because it would be expensive and a huge fight to get it put back up, but one little bitch and her parents think they're funny and wanted it removed.

This country was founded on freedom of religion yet God is now a topis of controversy.

Calling The State Christmas tree a holiday tree so no one is offended. I think the US could use a little more God in its government a little more in the way of values.

But not to the extreme Santorum would bring. This guy wants us back in the fifties. TV shows showing couples in separate beds and back alley abortions. Sex for only the sake of reproduction and reproduce you shall with no birth control allowed.

So fuck him, he's one of the idiots that give religion a bad name. No one likes a zealot for any cause.

I also believe Mr. Santorum doth protest to loudly. It is a matter of time before he is caught with a gay lover (in a matching sweater vest) a teenage mistress or pictures surface of him dressed like the gimp from pulp fiction.

Most repressed God boys are closet pervs of the highest order and this fraud will be no different. He'll be on tv crying someday and begging for forgiveness just like Jimmy Swaggart.

No, it's about the opposition of one candidate to porn, etc. and the effect it might have on my vote. The link on the OP quotes the candidate on the subject.

I don't hate Obama anyhow, although I am in opposition to some of his policies.

ETA: I'm not a Republican either. I am registered as a Libertarian, because I believe in as little gov. interference in personal lives as possible. I have certainly made it clear that I favor such things as same sex marriage, legalization of MJ, availability of abortion and other freedoms so dear to the hearts of most posters on the forum. I also favor personal responsibility.

Homework for you: seperation of church and state.

A lot of people in this country don't believe in that god. A lot of people don't believe in a god at all. And the huge majority of crooks and tin-pot tyrants that are running things right now are devout Xtian church goers.

Being President is pretty much like pissing into the wind. The office has degenerated into a ceremonial/pep rally gig. You take cool vacations, eat well, and fuck up traffic everywhere you go. So if you have a 13 year old mind it could be just the ticket.
