Things that piss you off?

I'm hobbling around with a suspected broken toe (no I haven't been to the doctor!) Bloody cane chairs that leap out and kick you when you least expect it
Sorry to hear that, Bandit. :(

I broke the little toe on my left foot when I was 14. In my case, it was the caster on my bed that jumped out in front of me. My little toe and the outer part of my foot swelled up and turned purple.

My mom ended up not taking me to the doctor because she figured that all they'd do is x-ray it, confirm what we figured to be true, buddy tape the little toe to the one next to it, and tell me to take it easy for a while.

The next night, I managed to squeeze my swollen foot into my softball cleats so I could play catcher in my first JV softball game. In hindsight, I don't know what I was thinking. I shoulda milked it for all it was worth. :)

It was better in a few weeks, but the first week sucked. I was in pain just from the bedsheet touching my foot.

My foot hurts just thinking about it.

LOL seems like I'm not the only clumsy one on Lit :D This is the first time I've ever broken a bone so can't complain I guess  I've buddy taped the last 3 toes on my foot together and it feels a bit better, it only hurts when I walk now.

I'm hoping I'll at least be able to drive in a couple more days. Gil has dialysis this afternoon so he will have to drive himself, luckily the hospital is only a 5 minute drive away. He had to do the shopping yesterday too which he hasn't done for ages, he reckons everything's been moved around in the supermarket and they put up all the prices without telling him! :D

see... there IS hope.

fuck spring. i haven't had a satisfactory winter to speak of yet. where's my fucking snow, sleet, high winds, frigid cold???? i'm going through muckluck withdrawal.

Come to Dallas - don't have snow, but we sure do have muck!

so, in summary, quoll's got a cold, bandit's got a broken toe, NB has bronchitis... all we need now is a swarm of locusts.

Sorry to hear about the cold Quoll, toe Bandit, and bronchitis NB - and the winter storm BG - hope all rights itself really soon for you all......

Well mine is not a WPMO so much as what is frustrating right now with the new job. IT seems to be having an issue with putting on my computer the items I need - like one of the major programs and access to the drives where all of the reports I have to work off of are located. Then my phone display is dead and will not show date/time - let alone clear all of the numbers I dialed last Friday.

On top of that - the higher ups still have not made up their minds on what area's I will be working with and it sounds like this could go on for this week, so I am stuck in limbo land right now............urghhhhh

Only clumsy one on lit? <raising hand ---- > better put my name in that group too - I have sprained my right ankle too many times and in too many weird ways (like tripping over a tree and having my dog trip me) and then there was the time while I was vacuuming barefoot (btw - don't do that - you could really hurt yourself! :D ), my recliner jump up and rammed my left big toe! Have no clue why it was out to get me - I was always nice to it!

I'm starting to get pissed off that I can't get my hands on tickets for opening day. In fact, I can't seem to get my hands on any tickets. :(
Try doing 120 in a 45 zone...that might change your luck.

I have a funny feeling your father wasn't the one driving. :p

I once had a 70 Firebird that I did 110 in....I was late meeting up with friends to go to a Kinks concert...what was I to do?
True enough...in fact, using the same scientific methodology I determined that even my mother's Rambler station wagon could hit three digits.

that must have been back when gas cost 39 cents/gal
That sounds about right. I remember that it cost $3.00 to fill up my first car (a ten-gallon tank, IIRC).

I cant decide which would have been better, my foot to actually be broken or to have just the soft tissue damage to it. *growls* it is so irritating to be limited by an injury....

soft tissue damage is no fun either.
you ain't kiddin'.

seriously though... i wish you well too, W&U. :) take care

Thanks guys. It's even more frustrating since my doctor said that it will probably take the same amount of time for it to heal as it would if it were broken. And of course, this is just after I started a great exercise thing for myself and got the tendonitis in my hand all better. I half feel like I'm falling apart physically.

yeah. at least if it was broken you'd have a cool cast that everyone could sign.

a friend of mine in college had a green stick fracture that seemed to take about 3 years to heal. if this is remotely similar, i really feel for ya. :) be well.

Thanks. I want it to heal quickly. I'm supposed to be playing on one of the company softball teams and taking a ballet class starting next month. It's killing me that I'm just having a hard time getting in to work from the parking lot (it's a pretty good hike in). I had just gotten myself started working out again and was managing to actually run 3 miles in about 30 minutes (huge improvement from before). It's like it's all gone to crap now because I can barely walk. It really does tick me off something terrible.

ROFLMFAO

What the hell is going on, besides everybody here who is sick or injured there were more threads on the gb about the same, in fact toes and feet seem to be the preferred injury at the moment.

For those of us not nasally challenged it's a Loquat, a particularly delicious little fruit that also holds a lot of childhood memories for me. Full info here
