Getting all hot and heavy with the gf only to be sent home, alone, with a raging hard-on, and leaking precum in my shorts.

(She wants to save it for tomorrow night.)

my student loan company. They tripled my payment without telling me. Then when I asked them to change it, they came back with the lowest payment I've ever had. Why they couldn't have just raised my payment a normal amount completely eludes me.

it SO pisses me off when people wait for the last possible moment to ask you for help with an all-day project.

after biking for 8 miles this morning i made the mistake of stopping at my uncle's house. he promptly asked me if i wanted to help him clear woodland on his property (where he'll be putting in his septic system for his new house).

'scuse me! did you just realize you were going to do this TODAY???? can i get like... oh, i don't know... THREE hours notice? is a day too much?

Being a friend to someone in need (on several occasions) and yet they become invisible when you need them for a change.

i couldn't agree with you more.

eilan once used the term "foul weather friends" in a PM. she was actually referring to someone who only came into your life when you needed someone but ignored you the rest of the time when life was good (a sort of co-dependency thing). it's not quite the same as what you're saying but i think the term still applies if you contort the definition a bit.

I do understand what you're saying. Many, many years ago I worked with a woman who freely admitted she couldn't be a good friend when the chips were down. We were talking about relationships once and I was trying so hard to hold back the tears. She started to well up and abruptly said this has got to stop...I can't do this...I can't deal with tears.

Sure makes me appreciate my true friends more & more. They've been with me during the best times of my life and have never let go of me during the worst times. I am blessed with true friends.

The incident above, my previous post, involves someone that was having a bad time. Not a dear, close-to-my-heart type of friend, but I didn't want that person to go through a bad time thinking that not a single person cared. Oh well, what's that saying about fool me once...let's just say that now this 3rd or 4th time has put the nail in that coffin. They can find some other shoulder to boo-hoo on.

Things that piss me off

Men who tell you although they are in a relationship, she doesn't understand him, so would it be ok if you were his bit on the side.

People have an uncanny way of knowing when my weekends off are...and proceed to call me well before I am out of bed! Damn, can't I sleep in for once????

Turn your phone off till you get up..

Waking up in the middle of the night/morning to some weird ass dream, second night in a row by the way, and thinking...oh it is Saturday....then realize shit it is only Wedensday.

The housing co-op we rent our unit from

The other night the hot tap over the bath shit itself, i.e. it would not turn off properly and it was running not just dripping. So we turned the hot water cylinder off and the power to it, and after I dropped Gil off at dialysis the next day I rang them.

They don't open the office until 9.30am  I reported the problem and said it was an emergency cos we had no hot water and with Gil's health it is necessary to be pretty hygiene conscious. I said I had to go pick Gil up at 12.30 but I would be home after 1pm. They said they would get a plumber to come round after 2pm. So far so good but 4pm rolled around and no sign of a plumber so Gil rang them back. Lo and behold they hadn't even CALLED the plumber!! Gil kicked up a big stink so they got on to it straight away and plumber guy finally rolled in at 6pm. He also found some other problems that need fixing as well, this place is pretty shoddy workmanship anyway. So he will probably be back on Friday to fix it properly but I was just glad to be able to have a shower by 10pm - it is supposed to be autumn here but the temps have been in the high 20sC/low 30sC with quite high humidity you can imagine how sweaty we both get

Doctors!

I've had this Dr's appointment for 3 months. It was this past Monday and my appointment was at 3:00pm. I arrive 15 minutes early. The 3 people that were already there when I got there were called back. Finally I was called back, but it was 4 fuckin 30 before the doctor came in to see me. This is not the first time this has happened. This doctor is also my parents doctor and they have had the same problem. My time is just as important as hers!

ARGH! It's time to start looking for another doctor.

what really pisses me off today is that my lead doesnt really hide it that well that she feels threatened by me and then goes out of her way to try and push me out of a project that I've been working on for a week now so that she can do it all.

Ooh, that sucks.

The doctors that my hubby, kids, and I see are part of a huge 100+ physician multi-specialty mega practice, and they're under a lot of pressure to overbook themselves and rake in as much money as possible. Kinda makes it difficult for them to spend a lot of time with each patient and remain on a schedule. That's why some of them get fed up and go into private practice.

Last night I had to take my 8-year-old to the so-called Express Care because of an earache. We waited an hour and 15 minutes in the waiting room, and the on-site pharmacy had a 45-minute wait. Because we live less than 10 minutes from the clinic, I took my little one home so she could get ready for bed, then went back to the pharmacy, where I waited another 45 minutes for the pharmacist and his staff to straighten out an issue with our insurance.

Unfortunately, this is far too common. It's no wonder that people feel that health care costs are too high - the perceived value of the "customer service" is negative and can't overcome the added value of new procedures and treatments.

I remember our family doctor making house calls when I was a sick youngster. My but life has changed since then. :(

Ugh!

I discovered the horrible facts that Eilan points out about over-booking. I have learned that with a certain Dr. NOT to book an appointment past 3 pm because I have been to his office, waited around and at 5 pm (yes, two hours later than my appointment) and had to frickin' reschedule my appointment. Of course, this Dr. is out of town, about an hour away. Yep, that pissed me off in a hurry!

About four years ago, my mother had a complete hysterectomy/lymph node biopsy because of endometrial cancer. When she returned to have the staples removed, the incision burst open (gross, I know, but that's the best way to describe it). The resident who removed the staples said to her, "I don't have time for this. I have other patients." How's that for "customer service"?

I understand that residents work very hard, but I'd think she could do her complaining away from the patients. It's not like my mom had time for cancer, either.

When I was pregnant, there were times that my obstetrician was on call at the hospital while seeing his regularly scheduled patients in the adjoining clinic. I had to wait for him a few times, but I was sympathetic to that because, if I were on the Labor and Delivery Floor, I'd want him to be up there caring for me.

It's frustrating, though, when you have to rearrange your whole schedule for a doctor's appointment that should take only 15 minutes.

I would change Dr.'s but this is my surgeon...I can't change! Yes, very frustrating that they overbook so heavily. *grrrr*
