Some things that do it for me .. in no particular order:

1. Weddings.
2. Thinking about my daughters, and what wonderful young women they are.
3. Great soulful music ... the 2nd movement of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D, for instance, leaves me weeping with emotion.
4. Corinthians 13 ... the "love chapter". The most glorious passage ever written by a human hand. To this day, I can't read it aloud without tears streaming down my face.
5. Families rallying to face a tragedy together.
6. The sight and sound of young children outside laughing and playing without a care in the world.
7. The beauty in Nature ... the Tetons, Cataract Canyon, Mt. Rainier, Canyonlands National Park, so many more.
8. The memory of my father, who died a year ago next week.
9. Some terrible things I've done in my life that hurt people.
10. An explosive orgasm.

1. Thinking about old loves/unrequited loves
2. The anniversary of my first son's death
3. Hormones
4. Not being appreciated

That's it for now.

If i think of more i'll come back and post them.

I know this is corny, and I don't know why I do it, but I get tears in my eyes every time I hear the Star Spangled Banner sung beautifully and respectfully before a sporting event. The way it should be sung, reverentially...

And, my dad was a P.O.W and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, and I choke up every time I go through those gates......

What doesn't make me cry is a better question. I tend to be a soft heart. Crying with joy over a beautiful poem or sunrise; crying with sorrow at senseless death or suffering; crying with mirth at funny jokes or a movie; etc. (Sometimes it's embarrassing but when I'm touched, I can't help it)

There isn't a single thing corny about that. From my time in the USAF til now, I do the same thing when I hear it done right.. the guy with the trumpet last week I believe did a great job. And it totally pisses me off when it's not done as it should be.

Yeah, that trumpet guy before the Panthers game was awesome.

I also think it's really nice that the ladies such as Milfsauce and SereneOne can show a different and very personal side of themselves.

I cry every time I see an animal get hurt in a movie. I know it's fake but I can't help it.

I wear my heart on my sleeve... cry easily, happy or sad... ex used to pick on me about it so tried to not do it in front of him.

I have a very soft sweet side. I just keep it protected. ;)

Same here. I can cry at a hallmark commercial.

A phone call and the sound of hope in his voice.
Talking to his dad and hearing how treatments are going.

2. The anniversary of my first son's death

How awful :( ... they say there is no pain in this life like the pain of burying your child. My heart goes out to you ...

When people pick on my special needs daughter.:(

Sometimes there's no explanation at all for how terrible human beings can be.

I tend to be a soft heart.

The alternative being a hard heart ...

Johnnie, I'm sure you've been to the Vietnam Memorial? I was there some years ago and noticed an elderly couple who had found their son's name. They were standing there at the Wall, weeping.

Broke me up ...

Oh, I can't even watch scenes like that.

Movies. I admit it. I'm a sap for sentimental movies.

Which ones especially do it for you?

I lived in the DC area for 11 years, Milfy (may I call you Milfy??)

Once you remove all of the politicians from the equation, it's a beautiful place....

Not corny... I do the same. I remember spending a summer in Canada when I was 19, I had been there all summer and toward the end had turned on a baseball game.. I cried when the Star Spangled Banner was sung and realized how much I had missed hearing it. It's been like that ever since.

My daughter passed on and she was just hours old.

She died in my husband's arms before they finished with me.

Her twin was born with multiple physical (internal) defects and it was touch and go for many years. (VATERS Association)

If you ever need to talk I will listen. :rose:
