That is where we were and you would have to say that the republicans took us there. The country is on the verge of losing the right to be called a democracy, I really am unsure of our ability to overcome the right wing surpreme court's recent dicision on money in politics.

Obama is a one term blunder. Hillary is poised to run against him in 2012. All the Injun signs are there!

I don't believe the new Congress next year will be able to repeal anything. The Reps will probably control the House, but not the Senate. Even if they did control the Senate, The Big O would veto anything he didn't like. Repeal bills will be proposed, but that will be just to make a point, not with expectation of being passed and implemented.

At least the Dems won't be able to pass anything more against the wishes of the people.

If you will notice, all the political crap threads are started by the same three or four people. And most are just their opinions or someone elses opinion that they have cut and pasted. I have no problem with political discourse if there is a point to it but rehashing all this crap isn't going to change anyones mind in the least.

Take it to the general board. This is the Author hangout and most of the ones posting politics here aren't even writers. The reason they post here is because there is no one to boot their ass to the GB.

Actually I enjoy these threads because then the self-righteous, oh-so-very-tolerant-of everyone, bleeding heart, mealy mouthed hypocrites come screeching out from their nests in cuckoo land and hurl invective like zoo monkeys throw their shit.

You have to understand that they once ruled the roost around here. Everyone agreed with them and that was fine. Everybody hated GWB, Republicans, the greedy fat cat rich, big business, conservatives, Christians and anyone else's opinion they disagreed with, and that was fine. Ami, Box and R. Richard raised some opposing views on occasion, but they were mocked and ridiculed and that was okay too.

Now that there are more people on this site with opposing views they've become positively hysterical in word and action. No one objected when one side of politics reigned supreme, but when another gained momentum then it was 'let's sidline 'em somewhere else'.

So much for their vaunted and oft trumpeted beliefs in fairness, equality and free speech.

A wide majority of Americans are fed up with being saddled with fa crushing federal debt with no appreciable results (WH spin nowithstanding), the feds declaring war on Arizona for doing what they should be doing in dealing with illegal immigration, de facto takeovers of American banks and industries, waffling on the War on Terror, giving a pass to millions of illegal immigrant lawbreakers, trying to silence opposing voices on radio, TV and print, hijacking 1/6 of the economy in a Health Care grab, having racists calling others racists and getting by with it, a sycophantic media in cahoots with the current administration, no jobs, new taxes and many other outrages and they're gonna do something about it in November and 2012.
