What's the theme song for your life? You don't have to figure it out. You just insert the date of your 18th birthday right here:

Life's Theme Song

I'm not quite sure why the song topping the charts on one 18th birthday should be one's theme song...but it is amusing to remember what was playing then. And to think about it as a theme song for your life.

Toto's "Africa" -- eh, not so much, although I liked the song and even remember the slightly lame video. My real theme song, the one that both reminds me of being young and hopeful and full of plans and reminds me of everything I have and want in life, was Tears for Fears "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"

As a member of a Commonwealth country, I'm opting to pick the British Chart's "Life's Theme Song".

Take My Breath Away - Berlin

(The other choice was Amanda by Boston ... ick, Boston sucked ;) )

I think figuring out the actual year I turned 18 was more of an eye-opener than the song choice ... it was so long ago! When did I get old?

Hooked on a Feeling, Blue Swede

Which is really sort of uncanny, if you know me, you know why...

birth date. Oops! (But I like mine, and I'm keeping it. It suits me.)

I don't know what happened, but the page I saw asked for my actual date of birth and not my 18th birthday.

This is what turned up: Blondie's "Call Me." (Lyrics)

I admit that I put my birthdate in the first go around ... but then I changed it to my 18th b-day .... and I'm still old. Wanna make something of it? :catroar:

It's on the juke box page in smaller print and it was in 3113's original post.

Na, I was just hoping someone around here was older than I am....

Please don't tell me it involves a scary dancing baby ...

"Ooga Chaka Ooga Ooga"

Birthdate the first time. Tried my 18th birthday and came up with boy band crap. Damn.

Could be worse - mine came up with Debbie Gibson.

Fuck that. I know my theme song. "Bottle of Smoke," the Pogues. Wanna make something of it? ;)

Shanglan

(Or, depending on mood, quite possibly "Nutrition" by the Dead Milkmen. Or "The Marriage of Figaro Overture." Potentially "The Ride of the Valkyrie," or an outside chance of "The Skinhead who Never Returned" by the Dropkick Murphies. I'm a fickle creature.)

On my birthing day it was Black & White ~ Three Dog Night
On my 18th birthday it was Release Me ~ Wilson Phillips

On the Brit charts it was Mama Weer All Crazee Now ~ Slade
And The Joker ~ The Steve Miller Band

All good songs. :D

My REAL theme song is "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Because backing down has never been my thing. I've always been a stubborn, cantankerous fellow. :D
