Lately, I've been in a writing rut. I haven't been in the mood to do anything (but sleep). I have ideas to work with but I cant' bring myself to put them onto paper.

Do you write best when aroused or is it the other way around?
Does writing bring out your wild side?

I can't be so aroused that I can't think of anything but sex, but sometimes I find that being a little bit excited helps me out.

Two things I learned this weekend: Coffee and sugar can make you write fast. and Vodka does NOT increase your writing skills.

I find that writing when I feel a little naughty but not fully aroused works best for me.
And when I can't bring myself to get all the naughty ideas down on paper, I don't force it, I just keep them tucked in there until the writing mood comes back.

I feel like it's the only time that I can write is when I'm horny. On the occations (few as they may be) in which I'm not horny, I'm not in the mood to write anything.

Writing Moods

I have to say that my writing is actually best when I’m just a little bit sleepy and a little bit Yiffy(turned on). Since i have a tendency to hyper criticize my work i find its the time I’m least analytical. Also, i find reading a good story, or fantasizing in your head can really help. Sometimes i jes lay in bed and think and that tends to get me going.

I think really it’s different for everyone.

I must be strange. Whether I'm aroused or not has nothing to do with my desire to write.

Whisper,,,

That's because we have to discipline ourselves to write for a living.

If you wait for the muse to strike, she will throw gutterballs.

That must be why my scoresheet read "0." LOL I'm in a serious slump.

I write best when I'm fairly calm and stress-free.

Or on liquid coedine after having my tonsils out.

Unfortunately, the former doesn't happen often and the latter only happened once ... so the rest of the time I just soldier along ;)

I usually find myself writing sex scenes during the week I ovulate. Those hormones keep me up all night at the computer. When the haze wears off, I write the context and the aftermath in the mundane light of day. I'd rather not be so biological about it, but that seems to be the way it works for me. :)
