Happy New Years to all of you!!!
Thank you so much wilderness!I overlooked your contribution. But my spidey sense began to tingle and I backtracked to see your Perfection.
Awesome!! That's good stuff!!P is for Present. This was my favourite 2019 Christmas Present:

Of course, there's a story behind it. So pour a dram of your favourite tipple and get comfy.
Crown Royal Whisky was created in the 1930s to commemorate the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth; the first time a reigning monarch had visited Canada. Joseph E. Seagram and Sons of Waterloo Ontario made this remarkable whisky that defied logic. All the best whiskies in the world are made from soft water, such as flows out of the Scottish highlands or the mountains of Tennessee. The water in Waterloo is among the hardest municipal water in North America.
(Aside: I attended the University of Waterloo)
But this excellent whisky was the result.
Unfortunately the land the distillery sat on was in the heart of a growing City, so it was closed. (Horrors) in the early 1990s. In 1992 the warehouse, full of whisky burned to the ground. (Tragedy).
The company was sold, but continued to sell Crown Royal made from the dwindling Waterloo stock that had been stored elsewhere. They started making whisky in Gimli Manitoba. (Aside: Google "Gimli Glider" for a great story).
By the early 2000s, the bottles said "Crown Royal Whisky Company, Toronto Ontario". The whisky was noticeably diminished. I once accused a bartender of serving me cheap bar rye in its place. She produced the bottle and I saw the problem. I scoured the liquor stores for old stock and now have about two ounces left, to toast a special occasion.
Fast forward to Boxing Day (Dec 26th for my American friends). My SIL gave me a coffee mug for Christmas. The miniature was just tossed in, because she knows I like whisky.
As soon as I picked it up I knew something was different: the bottle was glass, not the plastic they have been in for almost 20 years. "Holy crap!" I said out loud "It's from Waterloo!"
I can only assume in the Christmas rush, somebody at a warehouse somewhere found a box of old stock, and sent it out to the world. Now I am scouring liquor stores again. I don't know whether to drink it or keep it until the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup...
Happy New Year everyone!![]()
Both are lovely posteriors!!
I love the grainy B&W, very classy!
You're as lovely as they come.
Everyone has been so nice in the comments and PMs, I decided to add some more P=Pearl shots. Sorry the image quality is lower. I had to scan from a contact sheet because we had these professionally done and only paid for the large versions of some of the shots.
Obviously, I love pearl necklaces.PM me if you want to tribute these photos with one of your own.
