The best guess is that there are two "strains" of the same virus. One is airborne or something and everybody has it. That one infected a lot of people who weren't immune to it. It's the only real explanation for the initial outbreak and why the military couldn't contain it. All the lines they set kept getting spontaneously fucked as their own turned mid battle. The second is a fluid based virus that kills the shit out of you. As we saw with Shane dying of a stab wound doesn't even delay your turning. You turn at the speed of plot.

In the GN she did kill him after being captured, tortured and raped at his hands. They are watering down for the TV viewers.

What's with all the hate on Andrea? She's a strong character. Yeah she sleeps with everyone but, eh, if I wouldnt have known that the Governor and Shane were a bit batshit crazy, I would have slept with them too.

I don't think I ever "realised" it per say. It's just something that gets me going without me even having to think about it

Haa haa at the end of the second season AMC had a viewer giveaway for one of Hyundai SUV's they use in the show......and all I could I think of was "Wow, I sure hope they detailed the hell out of that interior once Shane & Andrea were done bumping uglies in there." 
And as someone that has almost a fetish for drawl's......I don't think any of the cast member's have an actual authentic drawl. Hell most of the one's with "accents" are British.

All British, all have affected "drawls" to mask their accent. As far as I know only Hershel (Scott Wilson) is the only cast member born & raised in Georgia, and he sounds like it.

Her motivation there--hell, everything about her personality aside from wariness of everyone and everything--has been the weakest element of the season to this point. There had to be something motivating her to want to go back to kill the guy, rather than just getting the hell away permanently. Presumably it's something in her pre-plague past.
I can see why Andrea gets heat, but "stability" in the form of Woodbury has to be pretty damn tempting compared with how she was living beforehand. We've seen in the past that she's not the type to follow along without asking a lot of questions, she's bristled against the patriarchal nature of the town, and after seeing the Governor's zombie hoard, she now knows she's been fucking a wackjob. So I expect her status to evolve in a more viewer-friendly direction now.

I got some friends into WD a few weeks ago. Loaned them my Season 1 and 2 DVD sets. They watched all of the episodes in one week, and caught up with Season 3 last week off Comcast InDemand
