The Walking Dead

I liked this series initially. But over time the shine has worn off. Its too much like a soap opera now, which may be its appeal to many. I couldn't finish the second season because of how unbelievable the dynamic has become. If that was a group irl fighting for their survival they would've split ages ago. 2 alpha males in a group doesn't work.

By most accounts the second season was poorly written. It was episode after episode of whining and stupid mistakes that no normal person would make.
It got better near the end and certainly solved the two alpha male problem.

There can be only one.

I thought two alpha males created drama, which is good, but it was exhausting at times, fighting over the girl, etc. Glad to see Andrea back!!

Well fuck me runnin', they finally killed the bitch.

I wanted them to do it all last season, but I am stupidly sad right now. I liked her for the first time as she was preparing for her death.

That episode was intense.

Good thing they keep finding new people to replace the one's they are killing off.

Amazing! This show will be remembered as one of the greatest in a generation.

That was some hardcore shit. Even Lost never got around to killing off the majority of its original cast until the last few episodes.

A question about the second to last episode of season 2

Replete with season 2 SPOILER

When did Shane get bitten?

I don't remember him getting bitten, did he? The virus lives in everyone and comes forth when they die.

If you missed the episode that explained it, everyone is infected. They come back as walkers, even if they're not bitten before they die.

He didn't. He was killed by Rick and came back then shot by Carl.

But he had to have virus in his system before coming back. Otherwise all the dead they found in their cars on the highway would be walkers too right?

I was wondering about that earlier. We have to assume one of two possibilities to account for the various dead that the group has encountered throughout the series: either they died before everyone became infected, or they died of a head wound.

What? Which episode explained that?

(And how did the people on the highway die anyway? Poison gas?)

They don't really run across that many bodies. I'm sure there are a few continuity problems with the whole thing about the virus but I don't think it's as much as it may seem. Most of the dead they come across are moving around.

So it's as though everyone's slowly getting infected as time goes on or something..

I forget which episode it was, but it was toward the end of season two. Remember when the guy at the CDC whispered something to Rick? That's what he told him. That wasn't revealed until much later, though.

I don't know; I think the writers probably knew from the beginning that everyone was infected.

I don't know when everyone became infected. Would newborn babies be born infected, or do they have to breathe in the air or something? They'll probably address that.

Alright maybe that's the last episode in the season. I do remember the CDC whispering. I won't tell the person I'm watching it with what happens. I had to know though.

You should have already found out about it by the time Rick killed Shane. Maybe you missed an episode?
