I'd like to see a vignette about some government lab working on a cure. Or maybe one showing what's going on in the rest of the world.

Why are you so nosey?

I think it's safe to say at this point tha the Governor probably represent(ed) one of the biggest extant governments left in the world. The US fell completely as far as we can tell and most countries have similar or worse situations to the US as far as this went. Asia in general but China and India are grossly overpopulated, a zombie plague that hit there wouldn't have anything like the American South East where you could be reasonabbly far from the nearst real population.
South America and Australia might be ok.
I doubt there is a cure and what we got was more than we got in the Comics already. They (last I checked which was a few years back) they didn't even know what we do about the CDC and it being kinda like Meningitus. So that's unlikely.
I wouldn't mind vingnettes just for shits and giggles but I'm against anything that doesn't move the story especially on shows that only get a dozen episodes. I'm still pissed we wasted an episode on the governor and hoping it ties back well enough not just be a waste.
As far as I'm concerned though Carol is dead. I just wish they'd done that to Dale instead since He was someone I wouldn't have minded coming back at some point in the future.
"You have to be able to come back from this."
They are on a serious redemption theme. What better character to explore with than The Governor?
For sure. I think the story will be explored, but the Gov is one scary character. We have seen what he has done. To come back from his bad deeds would entail a massive save. What that might be I daren't speculate.
I wish they would do backstories for the characters when their life was 'normal'.
Without the rule of law it's not so cut and dried. Merle, at the end found redemption and he had his share of faults.
Carol will come back and I'll be pissed. Ironically not because I disagree with the steps she took. I don't. She should have discussed it with the people who clearly have rank on her first but I'm a fan of "it's better to ask forgiviness than permission" so yeah. She made the right call. She's our redeemer.
The Governor. . .really he's too dangerous to let live. He's like Shane but with less reason. In reality Shane just kinda lucked into the worst scenario ever. He should have taken our other dead character and left when the leaving was good.
God bless Merle. Damn. That was wonderful.
But were his faults as grievous as the Governor's?
I hope the Gov makes it to the other side. My sympathies were widened last week for the character.
I tried watching with my friends but I couldn't figure out why they don't just use a flame thrower or something for all the zombies.
No. Merle was more reactionary. Personal survival. The Governor is a manipulator. But, the loss of his daughter really twisted him up, and he lost her twice. I do hate the way the show scares the bejesus out of me. It took an unexpected side road.
Rank? Rick is the reluctant leader....aint no rank, thats why she did what she thought best.

Fire doesn't kill them, though it does make them smell better.
The Gov lost his wife as well. Totally messed him up is my guess...
Good luck with that. You won't survive long on your own. Not that anybody survives long in a Zombie Apocalypse. You can count the stories with long term survivors on one hand.
You need a team.
Of course there is rank. Rick is in charge followed by Hershel. Even then there is an official council that seems to be Rick, Hershel, Glenn, Maggie and Carol and she didn't discuss it with any of them and she didn't fight when Rick told her to get the fuck out because she knew he had every right to kick her out because he is the man in charge.
So did Rick he didn't go crazy and start keeping zombie heads in fishtanks.
Besides I'm not saying the Governor doesn't have a reason why he is the way he is, I'm saying it doesn't matter he'd have to come bearing really good gifts for anybody to even give him a chance.
What about the Omega Man?
Rick, I guess is the de facto leader, and usually the doctor in the bunch is at the top as well. So you're probalby correct. Carol, on the other hand, said, bunk! Didnt bother to ask Rick, just took action. Whether you think its right or wrong. What Carol did, I believe, was wrong.
But Rick did go crazy after his wife died. Remember taking phone calls from imaginary people??
Aren't those Vampires? Crappy vampires but vampires like in 'I am Legend'?
Rick is more than the de facto leader. He's the real leader and everybody treats him as such. They keep returning to him for instructions over and over again. We can debate if he's a good leader I think personally he's a rather shitty leader but the people need a man to follow (tis human nature) and they follow him. And Hershel's in charge cus. . .he used to run the farm and was the leader of his team but he submitted to Rick ages ago. Still they are one and two in charge.
I think what Carol did was right, but as you stated she doesn't have the rank to take action without discussion. And thus she was rightly expelled.
Yes I remember Rick going crazy. And as bad as it got he was just made to step down while he got his shit together. He didn't you know, start holding gladiator games with the dead or launching unprovoked attacks. I'll argue that perhaps he could have tried harder to be diplomatic with the Governor but that's it.
