Posting photos off the net is not really the problem. Posting photos off the net that clearly show a photogrpaher's name or web address, or in some other way are absolutely labeled as "copywritten" is the real problem for Laurel. I don't think Vix posting a few nudie shots is a worry.

The thing is that just because the pictures aren't marked copyrighted, there is a high probability that they are copyrighted, when you get them from the net.

And you have been after ginny for doing the same thing, so what's the difference??

In my first post to Ginny I made mention that we all post net photos, and that most are covered by "Fair Use", which they are, and that the only real problem lay with photos and graphics that obviously lay outside the realm of "Fair Use". In all the photos Ginny posted that day you could see the web address, the photographer's name, and even the copyright symbols! THIS is what gets Laurel into trouble. Not stuff like this:

What if you edit that stuff out?

Dixon from what I know, almost all porn sites say that the pictures are copyrighted, and you accept that whey you enter them. And it's better to be safe than sorry when you post pics, that's my opinion anyway. Yes it sucks that we can't post the pictures, but I don't want lit to be closed down because of it.

And I honestly think we're splitting hairs with this conversation, so I suggest we can it.

The picture are still copyrighted, no matter if you edit it out or not.

To do that you'd have to put the photo on your computer, delete stuff, and then post it on Lit like how it shows below. Not the same thing as "displaying" it on Literotica.

Yeah, STG it's splitting hairs, which is why I don't bitch about it unless someone goes out of their way to blantantly do something illegal, which is what Ginny did. Even if she did it with one photo I really wouldn't have said anything. Like everyone pointed out, the legality of a "hotlink" is not set in stone. But Ginny posted more than a dozen photos that day, and, looking back, I've found dozens more, ALL with obvious copyright status. The girl actually was doing something that could get the site in trouble. And don't get too bogged down on "Copyright". That episode of Friends you taped last night is copywritten, too, but the Supreme Court says you can make a copy at home. There are degrees here. Ginny obviously went over the line. I don't think Vix did.

That's a terrible pic DCL. I thought you'd have better taste than that.
