First, I do want to congratulate bunny bondage on her 1000 posts. Her thread kind of inspired this one, in an indirect way.

With bunny bondage gaining her 1000 posts, I started thinking. Is there a "normal" timeframe when most reach their 1000th post? Anybody ever thought to look into that?

Looking at my posts, I am coming up on 1000 posts, myself. Damn, I'm gonna have to figure out something to put in there, too, in a short while. Woo Hoo! But, at this posting, I have about 50 or so to go. That could still take me a while.

What are your thoughts, anyone? How long will it take me to get to 1000 posts, with the ratio I have, up to now? My first post was over a year ago. Mathgirl (our resident math guruette), what would be the formula for this? Is it the average posts per day divided by 1000, perhaps?

Another question.
When you all reached that elite status of 1000, did you do anything special? Is there a special room somewhere like on Saturday Night Live, where the 1000ers can go to eat caviar, drink fine wine and smoke cigars?

Do you notice other posters bowing to your intellience just because you have posted more than they? Do you get some kind of glow about you, after 1000?

Or, is 1001 just another day at the forum?

You currently show 2.19 posts per day, so it will take you 23.7 more days to reach 1000 posts if you post at the same rate.

I think Etoile has answered your first question. Unless you are suddenly inspired and begin posting like a...............rabbit. :p
To answer your other query, no. Nothing. No fireworks, Highschool bands, balloons, champagne, nada. Sorry to burst your bubble DVS. :rose:
And lastly..............you must be joking. Surely you don't bow to Lance's "glow" do you? Ha! I thought not. :p But if it makes you feel better, I'll prostrate myself to your new found intelligence when you reach your 1000 post. OK? :D

-kym- Still cheeky :D

Cheeky? your AV looks more like you nick should be chesty, breastie, boobie or Wowie! And this is coming from an ass man. Now that's where the cheeky would come in. :D

You know, I just wanted to check things out, a bit. And, I did notice my posting rate when I checked it. I think it will be a while before I reach 1000. I usually don't have much to say. I'm not one to post unless I do.

I remember seeing one guy who posted 30 posts, just to get his virginity to be gone. Each post was just a number...i.e. 1,2,3,4 etc. And, he was at least gracious enough to choose an old thread so he wasn't really hurting anyone. But it did show is inability to handle being a virgin again.

Shit, we all go through it. It isn't any big deal. And, surely everybody knows we really aren't virgins, to be posting on this forum. But, he just couldn't handle it. I wonder where he is now?

I also figured there would be no fancy dinners or champaine socials when I got to 1000. By the way, do you know if this is the last of the great thresholds we have to look forward to? Is there another one at 2000 or 5 or 10,000? Maybe that is when the champaine and marching bands show up. You think so?

Well, thanks for posting to this thread, cheeky.
And, thanks for showing my your AV, cheeky.

No, I'm not going to be bunnyposting any time soon. But, you did help me get yet another post.

OK, who's next? This kind of thing is fun!

Yes, I noticed that, after you posted this. It seems you are close to 1000, also. But the last time I looked, you had about 10 less. You are a posting fiend, of late.

Must be because you are a moderator. You all do post a lot more than the normal poster.

Thanks for the info. The trouble is that word "currently". There are days I don't post at all. And, today, for some reason, I have posted a lot.
Many more than that 2.19 per day. to keep that ratio, I can't post for about a month.

The reason my ratio is so low (about 1/day) is because I signed up in 2000 and yet only became active about a month and a half ago, if that. I've probably got more like 20/day! It's not that I'm a moderator, just a loudmouth. :) And actually, it seems that because I'm a moderator, I can have a title even though I have less than 1000 posts.

I'm in the same boat as Etoile in terms of being around for along time before I started posting. On the other side is someone who tired to ring up 4000 posts in her first year. She fell about 40 short.

I cannot stand the whole posting/rating thingy, it drives me batty, so once I reach a significant number I tend to have hissy fits and unregister and re-register myself or take on a new nickname on some variation of serijules (seri, serij, jules, etc). I'm anal about that for some reason. I guess it comes from observing and moderating a lot of boards which form cliques centered around post numbers, or people posting mindless crap to shove their number up, or endless congratulations on hitting 50, 100, 200, whatnot posts. There are a lot of story sites that how good the story is, is often judged by the number of comments, or like here, a rating number. It's all a bunch of BS to me, I would gladly do without anything relating to judging/rating. In fact, the rating is why I stopped posting my stories here even though the comments I got on the few I posted were great, and the rating was alright.

Not harping on anyone that has a high number mind you, I'm just noting that this is one of my pet peeves for lack of better word. :)

I think everyone does their Lit posting in their own way...

I met some fun and exiciting people on here when I first joined and thus lost my "virginity" and got my AV within in a VERY short period of time....most of it were posts in the Fireside Lounge thread.

I enjoy reading and posting my 2 cents here and there even if no one really notices it.

Getting to 1000 seemed to be a cool goal at one point, but...I find I just read more than post now for some reason LOL

I am currently looking to change that AV DVS, so stayed tuned. The "cheeky" refers more to my personality than any physical attribute. But that may change once my new AV is in place.

Yea, I've watched the most mindless rubbish posted that some could get their post count up. It was suggested to me by a fellow Litster, but I refused. Mostly, I post to silly threads that are "tongue in cheek" for the most part. I don't get into the "heavy" discussions very much because real life is heavy enough for me and I don't need to carry that into my online life. So if I appear flippant, I am to a certain degree. I do have my serious moments, but they are rare.

Always happy to help another Literotican with their post count DVS! ;)

-kym- 1-2-3-4-5-6- :p

Well as for me i'm here for the long hall.I also don't care about the ratings ratio as i figure i'm still young enough where i'll still be around to hit that so called majic number:p :p
Here's posting to ya!!!!!

Good attitude MD, its not the post count that makes one interesting. It took me close to a year and it wasn't until I began posting at the Playground that my count went up. But I wasn't trying to raise it either. I found many threads there that suited my tastes, so to speak and began posting to them. MY-Sir has told me that there are days it takes Him forever to read all of my posts. ~~laughing~~ I think He's given up that practice now.
I like to laugh and enjoy trading banter with many Literoticans. If in the process my post count elevates? Who cares. Its only a number.

-kym- enjoys "hitting" other magical things..............

Well, mydestiny2003, I'm not much into numbers, either, but there is a time in everyone's life when longevity is a good thing. I'm getting close to that point.

And, when you like your life, you want it to continue. I do like my life. Financially, it has taken a road south, and that sucks, but in other ways, I am doing quite well. Does it show? :D

Seriously though, we are all here for fun, I think. If it were a major part of our lives to post until we drop, something's wrong. It has just been an aside of my writing, and I have made friends. The pithy part of this is my Lit. friends are all over the world. I will never get to meet them face to face.

serijules, I hope you don't misunderstand me when I say I think you are going a little too far with it. But, you don't berate others for their choice, which shows character.

I do agree with you on the vote ratings of Lit. I have never quite understood why it works the way it does. As for other numbers here, they are just numbers.

I think some start a thread and hope it will total many pages and posts, thinking it will be a status thing for them. OK, fine for them.
I hope you go far in everything you attempt, and find one thing you like and allow it to add up.

Even with the numbers 36-24-36, they are just numbers. And, I don't consider them perfection. But, everyone has their area of interest. It's the second 36 that is of interest to me. (.)

MY-Sir's-k-, If I read your post correctly, I look forward to your next AV. You can never see too many nice looking behinds. At least your AV and name (cheeky) will match better.

Why didn't someone mention for me to respond to each of these individually! LOL, I would be over the top by now.

InnerDarkness, we are pretty close to the same, in most areas. In fact, I didn't even think of 1000 posts as a goal. It just came to me when I saw another thread about it, and noticed I was very close, myself.

Like you, I just like to put in my 2 cents, from time to time. And, I have a rather dry sense of humor that is difficult for some to catch.

When I first came to Lit, it wasn't understood and well, I won't go into that. Those threads are way down at the bottom, by now.

Croctden, that gal who tried for 4000 posts in a year? That was quite a goal. Is she still around? But, no names, please.

Edited to correct some stupid spelling.

There is nothing more satisfying than finding a way to avoid partaking in one's own pet peeve, which is why I sometimes go back to 'virgin' status. It's very satisfying to have that kind of control, maybe thats the top in me taking over <g>

i wanted balloons and a party when i hit 1000, or even just a lousy cupcake, but i got nothing! infact, i was at 1030 before i even noticed i'd gone over!

the post count isn't an accurate measure of someone's knowledge or wisdom, because (as it's been mentioned) lots of people just post a bunch of crap. but hey, there's no reason not to take pleasure in the little accomplisments in life!

What I really don't get is the people with 12000+ posts in something like a year. If I were to keep up my current posting rate (i.e., not the number shown in my profile) I might be nearing numbers like that, I guess, but it still boggles my mind. How can any of those posts have worthwhile content?!

ya know , i first registered in feb. and i gues i am either lazy or i just work too much cause i am only now hitting experienced, but i have also not been working as much and i finally get a day off tomorrow .. but that is besides the point.

my point being, it took me a bit to figure out this rating thing and then i got kinda pissed ; i didnt want to be a fucking virgin... hell what kind of fun is that, i mean really....

so my goal for the near future is to reach whore status....
lol .....

and besides i have been lucking around in here for a couple of months so might as well add my opinion..

and it is just nice to see i am not the only person (even though i might be the only person where i am from) who is into everything ....

She is still around. You probably know her from the AH. Big player, from a Scandinavian country, really focused on a book that just came out. Got it?

DVS started this tread for you, everyone made suggestions for names, I even violated Andrew Lloyd Webber. Did you want birthday spanking? At a thousand that would take a fucking while.

As DVS said, probably by doing this.

Heh... i've been a lit member for a while and i didn't even know there were boards for a few years... so my rate of posts per day is very minimal... Also i tend to be an enternal lurker... i'll read a lot and post choosingly... also.. i kinda wish there was an average word cout to posts... i think i'm ranging pretty high... i don't write stories but it's hard to find a post where i don't ramble on fairly well...

he didn't start this thread for me silly, but i'll still take that spanking!

Interesting thread as until Master mentioned it, I had never associated any relevance to the number of posts. Serijules please post more stories....just switch off the voting option if it concerns you.

numbers numbers numbers...

at first I cared. It was sort of egging my addiction to literotica on..."just a couple more posts and I'll be "experienced" and then I can go to bed..." - then I woke up and realized I'd reached 90! Time to make 100 my goal so that I could have an av! okay, av achieved, let's go for a title...1000 down! And...and...well...then what? Well, by then I was hopelessly addicted. I sort of noticed myself breeze by 5000, I notice that I'm sort of nearish 10,000 now...but it's just no big deal. Do I look at other people's post #'s? Only when they're small numbers like 1, 2, 3...the only reason I look then is that usually a person with a small amount of posts won't answer you if you answer a question they pose.
