The 2016 GOP Primary was the most entertaining political season that has ever transpired.
The humiliation of Ted Cruz by Trump was one of many high points in this neverending cornucopia of entertainment and righteous shadenfreude (sp.)
At one point, Trump, freestyling in a Fox interview, paraphrased a National Enquirer article implicating Cruz' father in the JFK assassination conspiracy. Pure goofy trolling...except it forced Cruz into the shifty, sweaty Nixonian doubletalking captured in this video.
I mean...we all know the Cruz family never had anything to do with the JFK assassination...right?...but you have to admit, if they did, the denial would look exactly like this.
LOL. Cruz had the intelligence to realize that he needed to make some kind of light-hearted joke...and he's so shady and nervous that he trips over his own lines, making it sound as if he were bobbling a rehearsed bit.
You'd actually have felt sorry for Nixon in this situation. He at least had a pathos to him....and he would probably have been guilty, too. The genius of Trump's mockery was to expose Cruz as both pipsqueak and phony. Brilliant politics.
