Honestly....I don't see the United States doing anything military wise to anyone. See already there have been many cries from areas within New York State for this day to be a change in policy. A change that would hurt everyone in the world alot more then a military strike. I myself live in NY State and yes people want military action.....but many others after watching the dancing say the US should tell the world to go to hell. We've kept the peace for so long and tried to do what's right for everyone. Well....now the people of the United States..or at least many here near the attack want to see the United States take a "Non-Peace" policy up. Meaning the US deals with inhouse problems and removes itself from anything to do with foriegn affaris problems. Also they feel the US should demand payment on all loans given to these poor countries over the years.

Personally, I think it's a good idea....why help those who don't want it anyway. Keep our money here..and to anyone who's dumb enough to try this again...use our military superiority to backup or new policy.

The only reason this hasn't happened before, or even frequently, is because organizations like the U.N. and NATO have kept them in check. An isolationist retreat will imperil us on a daily basis.

That is so short sighted of you, don't forget that a lot of America's foreign policy is considered terrorism, look at the Bay of Pigs for example.
I am not endorsing what has happened, i'm truly against it! I think you should hang the bastards by the balls when they are caught. As for the loans, how can they repay them when they are poor. Idiot!!!! One other thing, there are a lot of countries out there keeping the peace, and they don't need a country like the United States acting as an international cop dictating to them how things should be run, look at the mess in your own backyard before condemning the rest of the world, for example gun control!!

regardless of the rights and wrongs of the U.S military policy it has had a gung ho attitude to dealing with conflicts around the world storming into korea ,vietnam, the gulf, grenada to name but a few although with the best intentions has caused a lot of friction with their we know best ideology. the british , spanish israeli/palestinian lebanon and other middle eastern countries to name a few have had to deal first hand with terrorism , shootings and bombs for a number of years . something apart from oklahoma the american people have never experienced. this has been coming for a long time and the american people have been insulated from this . maybe people will now understand how other nations feel about u.s citizens donating money to "worthwhile causes" such as the "starving children in northern ireland" or white supremacy groups funding the british national party and its policy of forced repatriation for non whites .
how do you reason with an ideology that has been indoctrinated into political and religious zealots that have been raised from an early age to believe the western world is satan and it is righteous to die for allah and take their place alongside the 12 virgins in heaven ?

Unregistered, you're interpretation of the value of isolationism is ... hell, it's not even worth working up an argument anymore. We can't lock the doors and turn out the lights and pretend America isn't home, and if you honestly think we can you're a fool. A big one.

To Unregistered

That's fine cause that's what we the people want. Yeah globablization is HUGE but only because we have helped push it along so much....but the US is not happy with the events of the middle east today...by that I'm talking about Congressman who have been on CNN and other goverment officials. And they have told CNN that the United States is now not only trying to find out who this was behind these attacks but they are also reviewing their foriegn affair policies as well. Bush is to address the UN as early as Friday this week.

I'd love to what would happen in this world if the US didn't stick it's nose in to the world's problems. I'd bet there's be little wars all over the place...and maybe this time we'll be the one's who sit back and laugh at it all.

ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought i'd reply to Dixon Carter Lee, listen we out in the big bad world are quite capable of looking after ourselves, what you need to do is look after yourselves, and not try to force your culture and ideals on the rest of the world. it's not that we don't need somebody out there looking after the world, we do!!! But don't you think it should be a joint effort and not just from one country?

Your interpretation of my post is flawed, I don't mean for you to curl up and ignore everything and pretend it's not happening, but think what alternative that idiot Icon proposes, to bomb everyone and then demand payment on loans from those countries that don't see eye-to-eye with you. But still i'd like to be the one to ask the people involved in this outrage, one simple question , WHY?
