The Underworld

He smiles at her, as he eats her pizza. "So, my love, shall we begin our second movie?" He asks grabbing a soda from the table, and taking a drink. Diet Pepsi had become another of his favorites in the modern era.

He clicks the play button on the remote, and the opening credits begin rolling for Buffy the Vampire Layer.

"WooHoo vampire porn!"

He smiles at her, running his fingers through her hair ever so lightly. "At some point tonight, my love, I will have to find a meal. Perhaps I can bring it back here, and together we can bleed them dry." It sounded cruel, but he had no intention of turning anyone else, and if two vampires fed off the same source, the host would surely die.

"My love, then we must never feed of a single source. For if we do they will surely die, and the only way to prevent that is to turn them. No one must be turned without warning, the life is too difficult if you go through the first century hating everything about yourself. Luckily I was warned, and so were you. When the time comes, I will help you to find your first victim, you will know when to stop to prevent their death, I promise."

He smiled back, grabbing another piece of pizza for himself. There was one other way to get an endless supply of blood. But he will explain that after the movie, and any activitiies that may take place after the movie.

She had knocked him out. Literally. More than literally. He hadn't had sex, for some reason, Eddie had just gone ten rounds with Ali. His eyes tried to focus, failed, the world coming to him in blurry concepts. He tried again, starting to see his lovely angel above him.

"It's ok," He heard her concern, he couldn't make out the words. She seemed fuzzy and distant, but he could read the concern. What had happened? He'd only drunk water. Sex hadn't been that bad, sure she'd drained him but...

This?

Drugged? No. His muscles refused to move other than the most basic of movements, a sudden cold chilled him. He didn't come out in goosebumps, but rather he felt like his core had diminished. Whatever fire inside him that kept him going had gone down to a dull roar.

Panic, lazy heightened panic hit him. He had a sudden fear wanting to run and hide, monsters under the bed, in the closet, wanting to eat you, wanting to bleed you...

"It's ok," A weak smile. As scared as he was, she seemed even more so. OF course, she had just fucked him, and he was reacting like she had just shot him or something. How crazy.

Maybe things weren't ok. Maybe... maybe he needed a doctor. Something didn't feel right. He tried to get to his feet, half lurching from the couch, before falling back in a heap.

He laughed, but when it came out, it sounded like sad crying, "Maybe I'm not ok... I don't know... what's..."

It hurt to talk, too much pain, too much effort. His body already began shutting things down, conserving energy, as much as possible.

"Maybe... a doctor... someone to help..."

He'd have to explain why he was naked with some patron at the bar to his employers, and probably to the ambulance as well. God, he'd lose his job... but at the moment, warning bells, a dull pain that felt worse with each passing moment, that seemed like almost a blessing, anything to keep him alive, keep him ok.

"I'm sorry," He said, although, he didn't know if he spoke those words, the message of speaking went from his brain to his lips, and got fuddled up somewhere, causing a random spurring of words.

He tried to tell her he was sorry, for ruining such a good time. An innocent night of play, a wonderful connection with a woman he had never felt so close... and for some fucked up reason he was as helpless as a kitten, and weakening as the moments ticked on.

Mikki watched with trepidation as the human fought for life. Seemed eerily familiar in a way and all together uncomfortable. His body twitched and his breath was shallow and laboured. When he did speak, his voice was weak with strain and barely made sense.
The young vampire backed away from him and hesitantly left the dark room. She'd get help, she affirmed. There would be someone here, right? Someone who knew how to help in such a situation...
Mikki swiftly cruised the backrooms of the club, the sights and sounds barely registering as she singlemindedly looked for assistance.
"Hey, someone? I've got a problem with one of your people...I think I broke him..." Her voice trailed off in frustration. She tried not to become too anxious, but the thought of the trusting man she had left minutes before gnawed at her mind. Mikki felt an unusual sense of shame, hardly becoming of a vampire. I should've been more careful, she chastised herself. Should have known I'd lose it.
She prowled the halls, banging on doors and calling out. There must be someone....

He paused the movie. "Do you feel it? Something isn't right, my guess is at the club. Reach with your senses, can you sense it?" A weird look crosses his face, flashes of pain and uncertainty filling his mind. "I think someone we know is in trouble."

"I'm not sure, but I think it may be the bouncer, what's his name? The one who has no idea what Lucidia and Adriane truly are?" Orion isn't exactly sure what to do at this point, he's not necessarily in the life saving business, but he does have the ability to heal wounds, and that is vital in some case.

"My love, I think we should go to The Underworld. I will go alone if I must, but since I turned you, you have the same healing powers I have. This would be a good way to watch and learn how to use them. Although the feeling that something is wrong is getting weaker, and it may be too late to save him."

Generally speaking when one lives in a twelve story walk-up you have to walk down twelve flights of stairs, and he would have this night, but now that Heidi was a vampire he grabbed her hand and led her to the balcony.

"Okay my love, follow me," He got up on the railing and winked at her, before letting himself fall backward toward the ground, doing a flip and landing on his feet at the sidewalk. "Come on down, it's faster."

"Very good my pet, getting up we can go the traditional way if you'd rather. Although I do so enjoy climbing the wall as it were."

He laughed as they began their walk of three blocks to the club, in order to investigate what it was he had felt. As they got to the club something was definately not right, the line was forever long and the patrons were grumbling. They jumped ahead in the line over the mutterings of the patrons, Orion only turned to them and pointing to Heidi he says, "She's one of the dancers, now shut the fuck up."

They walked through the doors and Jerry was no where to be seen. He went to the bartender and asked him, what had happened to Jerry, that's when he heard the woman's voice.

"Hey, someone? I've got a problem with one of your people...I think I broke him..."

Orion turned toward the sound of her voice. His reflexes on edge ready to attack if necessary. "What do you mean, you broke him?" He looked at her, he sensed something about her, that's it. "You're a Vampire! Did you drink from him? Take us to him NOW!"

Mikki was near breaking point when she finally caught a voice directed at her. A tall male vampire with a young redheaded female vamp at his side stalked towards her, angry.
Her steps faltered as he bore down her. He was older, intimidating in his presence.
"Look, I didn't mean to hurt him, right. You know how it can be...I got a little lost in it." She motioned for them to follow her to the room where Jerry struggled to remain living. "I don't know what to do with him. I mean, fuck, he's just a kid."
The kid in question lay prone on the cushioned bench, haphazardly folded into himself. Mikki's breath died in her throat.
"You guys have skills right? Some of that magic in those vamp hands?", she asked distantly.

He glared at Mikki. "First of all, Heidi here is only recently a vampire, this evening in fact. Secondly, I know the bloodlust, especially when it is combined with our sexuality, but you have to be more careful." With that he turned to Heidi, and a smile crossed his lips.
"Slave, goto Adriane's office, in his safe he has IV bottles of O blood, the combination is 1005, how original the year of his mortal birth. Two I think should be enough, bring the needle that should be with them, and of course a tube."

Looking down at Jerry, he began whispering an ancient incantation, Orion reached out a finger to Jerry's neck, and the wounds closed disappearing completely. Heidi returned with the bags of blood and he began a transfer, filling Jerry's now seriously stressed veins, slowly the color returned to his face.

"Jerry, it's me Orion. You will forget what happened here tonight, it was just another normal night, you got woozy and collapsed at this booth. Wake Jerry, and remember nothing."

Another boring night. God, he wished something exciting would happen. He saw a few friends from the club, waving at them as he went back to his post. There seemed to be a line forming, nothing really serious.

Must have snuck up on him.

Oh well, he sighed, getting back to his spot, and looking over the I.D.'s of today's youth, which ones were fake, which ones were real, and which were really good fakes that he had to let them in anyway. Come on, if you spend a thousand bucks on a fake I.D. might as well be able to use it sometime.

Anger boils

Seeing the Jerry was okay and had returned to his post, apparently oblivious to anything that had happened Orion whirled on Mikki.

"You, just what the fuck do you think you were doing? You can't come in here and start trying to kill mortals! Especially not the ones that work here, especially the ones I consider my friends! You of course are welcome to come here, we welcome our kind here, if you want to Fuck Jerry, then Fuck Jerry, a little nip at the neck now and then isn't bad. If I hadn't felt something was wrong you would either have had to kill him, or turn him.... That's it isn't it, you didn't want to turn him without his knowledge, because it would've been an easy thing to do. That's how you came to this existence isn't it? You weren't warned. Just be careful with who you choose, I've killed my share of mortals too, sometimes it happens, just be careful."

Orion eyed Mikki, and pulled Heidi close to him. "So my love, did you get an understanding of the things you can do tonight?"

Mikki was shocked at the transformation. Jerry who had barely been concious moments earlier was now moving past her in a dazed but healthy stride. His eyes met hers briefly in a polite acknowledgement before he left the room entirely.
"He doesn't remember anything, does he?" she asked the two vampires before her. "Just like that." She folded her arms across her chest. "Sorry," she bit out between pursed lips. "I won't touch another one of yours, I just got...lost." She carefully explained, hoping that they weren't overly angry. The tall vampire was glaring at her then in his face softened as he spoke to the newly turned girl. She regarded her coolly.
"Welcome to the club."

The poor girl looked skittish, her eyes flicking between Mikki's and her male companion. Lovers, perhaps.
"Well, anyway, sorry for the trouble...I'll just get a drink and stay in the corners, okay? Thanks for uh, the blood and stuff."
She left the two quickly, slinking her way back into the vice-filled club. She was angry with herself, violence bubbling at the surface of her mood. Her eyes flicked to all the patrons laughing drunkenly around her, jostling her lithe form in ignorance. She went to the bar, ordered a strong drink and sourly told the barkeep to keep them coming.

"You're not doing a very good job you know."

He didnt' know why, but he felt he should say that. He had just finished with the crap of the club, and taken a break. Someone insisted he'd already taken one, but he brushed them off. He didn't remember taking any break, he'd been bouncing the door all night long. How boring and dreary, until he saw the woman at the bar, drinking her sorrows away.

Jerry had come up to her, another one of her drinks in his hand. He had asked the bartender what she ordered. He offered it to her, smiling as he sat down. For a moment he didn't say anything, just stared at those sparkling eyes, dumbstruck.

"I could tell you were trying to get drunk. I get paid to notice things, people, you know? It's my job... and I noticed."

He sipped on a bottle of water, cool and refreshing. No booze while on duty, which was sad, but he understood. All of a sudden he did feel super thirsty. He had cottonmouth, and felt spanning moments of unknonw relaity, like deja vu all over again, or something.

"My name's Jerry. I noticed you coming in. You had a... I don't know, a real presence around you. It's hard to explain. You just look, different, beautiful. Why of all places would you want to get drunk at a strip club?"

Her body froze as she heard his voice talking to her over the din of the club. Her shoulders hunched in on themselves and she swallowed more of the burning alcohol. She eyed the offered drink hazily before grabbing it and tossing it back, grimacing. His words rang in her ears, recalling earlier times and a sinking sensation loomed in her stomach. She smiled wanly at him and looked around cautiously for the vampire that had just chastised her.
"Uh, yeah, you're pretty hot too." Her eyes darted around, the club seemingly growing noisier and more crowded. Everytime their eyes met she glanced away quickly, seeing his naked body folded in death. "I'm just here to look at the...ladies. And to get drunk," she added muttering, motioning for the bartender. He looked up at her and held up a finger to wait before he turned back to smooch with a barely dressed woman that was leaning across the bar bench. 'Oh for fuck's sake,' Mikki snarled moodily. She stood up and leaned herself over noticing a bottle with something clear in it within reach. She grabbed it without hesitation, sniffing at the contents before lifting it to her lips to drink. She glared at Jerry, her mood darkening. Humans.

Orion walks up to Mikki and touches her shoulder, whispering in her ear.

"Please forgive my earlier outburst, you didn't deserve that dressing down I gave you tonight. Your drinks are on me tonight."

She turned at the hand on her shoulder, ready to say something unpleasant when a voice in her ear stopped her cold.
The vampire had snuck up on her! She huffed in fuzzy protest. Except wait, he was apologizing. And offering free drinks. Her eyes peered into his in suspicion.
"Okay." she replied, taking another swig of whatever it was she had grabbed. It burned anyway. Burned her throat and it's path all the way down to her belly. 'Warm', she thought. 'I like warm.' She held onto the bar's edge while her head tipped back to swallow more of the warmth. She was always cold, always dead. Jerry was looking at her like she'd grown another head. The bottle was empty, so she put it down with a burp and laugh as she looked at him. "I could so drink you under the table, human." she sneered. Her blood was filling up with alcohol, slowly working it's way through her wicked systems. Took awhile, but hell, even vampires could be sedated into a drunken stupor. Her world swam around her and she looked over at the pretty lady vamps on stage, full of smooth charm and deadly grace. She grabbed another drink, the barkeep now keeping her supply handy and she smiled.

She had snapped at him. He gave a weak smile. That wasn't the way he'd seen it happening in his head. Rather, some small talk, and then they'd slip into one of the private booths and fuck each others brains out. He could see it so vividly in his head, an image that was something more than just what he wanted to happen, rather what should happen.

But, she didn't even want to talk to him. Had he said something wrong? The words he spoke to her did seem off, he hadn't really noticed her, he hadn't seen her looking at him. It didn't make any sense at all, why did he say it to her?

"You should take it easy. We're all here to just have fun, you know? Are you sure you're ok? Is there anything I can do?"

Jerry was talking to her again. Her head swivelled over to regard him with careless eyes.
"Would you believe me if I said we'd already fucked and I nearly killed you but your friends saved you? And then you didn't remember nothin' and I can't talk to you anymore?" She had another drink. "I'm fine, I'll need a lot more than this to get to where I wanna be. Have some," she said pushing a drink his way. "We'll race."
