When I first started writing for the site, I recall there being something about necrophilia or "otherwise objectionable" material being written about. I alluded to it in a horror story, but I was worried that it would not make it past the site's editors.

A whole section dedicated to it? I know there's a horror section, but I don't see a necrophilia section.

From what I recall, actual non-consent is really frowned upon, but consensual non-con is okay. Like the whole...it wasn't her idea, but she ended up liking it vs. it wasn't her idea and she was emotionally scarred after the fact.

I didn't think you were passing judgement at all. I have read stories in that section though, that have no aspect of consent. Whether they have slipped through the net or whether the protocol has changed, I really couldn't say.

Lit does indeed have rules and like yourself, I wouldn't want to frequent an unregulated site where genuinely disturbing and depraved material was available.

It is very much a grey area and one I have tried to seek clarification on. Non-consent is ok but if there is too much violence prior or during, stories are rejected. Bestiality is a banned subject, but people write no end of stories involving mythical beasts and 'furries' (animal characters with human attributes and higher cognitive function) which are apparently ok. The guidelines for story submissions and SRP subject matter only amount to a couple of paragraphs and I do think they're inadequate given the vast array of subject matter here. From talking to other writers, there is also a degree of inconsistency where very similar stories have been submitted, only for one of them to be rejected. I know that Manu and Laurel are only human but I do think there could be a bit more clarification than there is.

I've got Master's parents down from Wales this year so I'll have to make a bit more of an effort with decorations. I've never really bothered much as I spent years living alone and Master isn't really fussed about tinsel.
