could it be that Moriarty is the bastard brother?

Mycroft was talking to another government official about exiling Sherlock, and Mycroft said "I'm not accustomed to outbursts of brotherly compassion. You know what happened to the other one."

well?

i've been pondering this all night in my damned dreams. still, made for an interesting night :) even went to the 'non-identical twin lost/stolen/given away at birth' thing. something to do with the mother, anyway, methinks... there's that bit where she says if anyone hurts her boys they'd better watch out because she can turn ''quite monstrous''. that phrase makes me hear moriarty. yes, i need to go to work now and yes, i'm kinda sleepy from sherlocking all night long.

As you know, we in the States don't generally see BBC programmes 'til well after they've been aired by Auntie Beeb.

I have seen a trailer that, to my utter amazement, showed Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in Victorian kit. What's that all about?

I haven't bothered to investigate because I'm lazy and know it will be revealed as time unfolds.

There have been many swerves, off of the well trodden path.
It s a wonder and a marvel, what they have managed to tickle out of the old fables.

We get The Abominable Bride, for New Year's.

yay! Better late, than never.

On that note-

Good, gracious! Buttery, that is a nest of plot bunnies, that you have unearthed.

(I did not know what to make of that line, at the time.)

You have my imagination working overtime.

it's gonna be fab :D:cool:

I dont really like this version, but I have read many a fanfic about them. The writers add a bit more man o man sex than the show does.

I prefer elementary. I have a major crush on Jonny Lee Miller.

Uh, oh.

Nobody can do it better than Jeremy Brett. I'm prepared for disappointment.

Jeremy Brett is hands down the finest Holmes, when it comes to the traditional Holmes.

Sherlock has done a fine job of modernizing the classic tales (Study in Pink, Hounds of Baskerville, etc) while staying true to the main themes in the adaptations.
I was not expecting much, but Cumberbatch (Sp?) does pull off a fine Holmes, and Freeman does a really good job as Watson.

i do believe we've been here before :)

we shall agree to disagree

since brett's your topman, you most likely will.

i was a fan of the stories, but nothing much onscreen of sherlock until these two (cumberbatch/freeman) combined with the other two (moffat/gatiss). my favourite tv.

What's up with Morland in the last episode?

"My god, Morland, his children found him!"

"They were meant to."

He seems like a bad mofo.

and i got it wrong *pout* not till new year! ugh, thought i was getting to watch it for christmas. bah humbug.

re the moriarty connection:
The Suspects:

Steve Moffat and Mark Gatiss are the same guys who at a recent press conference shouted that Moriarty is dead and there was no chance he’d be back. They remain prime suspects in this case for being lying scumbags and awesome showmen.
