I've just spent a week in Tel Aviv -- which should definitely be on the list!

Nice. Too bad that it had to be inherently short. There are now literally hundreds of gay and lesbian friendly cities around the world. For the U.S. list I personally would add places such as Miami, Atlanta, Las Vegas, LA and San Diego (I guess us queers like "warm" )

I live in San Diego and it has been queer friendly for almost 40 years. As a matter of fact the largest civic event in the city is the Gay Pride Festival. We also have gay targeted radio stations, restaurants, hotels and night clubs. Plus, hey, it's Cali - two chicks making out on the beach doesn't even merit a second glance. It's kind of nice when the only comments you get are "get a room!"

I'm just rebellious enough to avoid the "easy" places and be my deviant self in less tolerant locales. Be the change and all that jazz.

I'd add Long Beach to Safe_Bet's California list. Super place if one is gay and not too shabby if you're straight. The gay community is very accepting if you keep you yard attractive, so a straight couple who live in the middle of it tell me.
