I'm asking seriously. I'm not trying to trap you in a word game. Dave Chappelle does it so it SEEMS like it must be ok because black people love him. White people watch and they don't know what to think. I see blacks refer to other blacks as "nigger". I see blacks refer to whites as "nigger". And (too often for your tastes and mine I think) people just act like it's no big deal. In fact the only time I hear the word "nigger" is either from in hip hop music....from black comedians....or here on Lit.

Me, I don't make excuses or gyrations. Calling someone a nigger when they haven't called you any racial slurs is a sign of poor character. That's completely unacceptable in a civilized society. It's like Godwin's rule but with teeth.

I love all the excuses that are made on Lit when someone does something totally nutball. I don't buy them, society doesn't buy them, and Don Imus learned that the hard way. Then Russell Simmons promptly did, too.
