I have fought a grizzly bear,
Tracked a cobra to his lair,
Killed a crocodile that dared to cross my path,
But the thing I really dread, when I've just got out of bed,
Is to find that there's spider in the bath.

What a frightful looking beast,
Half an inch across at least,
It would frighten even Superman or God,
There's contempt it can't disguise,
In the little beady eyes,
Of the spider sitting glowering in the bath.

Now it's time for me to shave, though my nerves will not behave,
And there's bound to be a fearful aftermath,
So before I cut my throat,I shall leave this final note,
Driven to it by the spider in the bath.

mig,

Spiders...as frightening as they are, and they really are, they do serve a purpose. Besides the fact that they eat insects and the likes, they always keep us on our toes.

When I was a little girl I used to look under the bed, check behind doors, and check every nook and cranny in my bedroom before being able to go to sleep. I still do. lol

Several months ago something happened to me and now I have a new place I check - under my covers. Yep, I have discovered that spiders like to crawl up and into your bed.

Spiders, they're not just tub lurkers anymore.....lol

Have you ever been in a household where spiders are loved and openly welcomed? They are not to be touched and can live in the corners all the time if they like.
I can understand the reasoning, they kill off the bugs and have a useful nature. My mom never let me kill any kind of bug, we had to catch them in a jar and set them free outside.
But, I don't live at home anymore, and there's no spiders to catch the bugs around here. Sooo Squish!:D

(Unless they're cute bugs like Lady bugs, roley poley's and Daddy longleggers):)

Wiggles,

I have a friend who never squishes spiders - she usually just lets them stay where they are and eventually they end up moving somewhere else. But, if I did that, I'd never get to sleep wondering where that "somewhere else" is. lol

We do catch other insects and release them to the great outdoors. Although with Lady Bugs, I like them to stay in my house for a bit because I figure I can use all of the Good Luck that comes with those beautiful little creatures.

Enjoy your day!

I must be the epitamy of luckiness! They swarm my house in multitudes in the summer! :D

God Can Not Help Me Now

My soul iz in a Wreck
Almost out of Booze
The Girl of my Dreams
is just a dream
And she drank the Spider
After she drank the Entire neck

Can I just add that I never kill spiders.

If I lived somewhere like OZ though I might need to
alter that.

bugs n spiders

As far as i care spiders come and go unless they are in my bathtub or sink then i just hot water down the drain. Now the wife that's another story alltogether it's SCREMMMMM kill it NOWWW you get the picture. Bugs have pretty much the same effect on her.

A friend of mine sent me a e-mail the other day i found somewhat interesting it was called fact or ficition. One of the things in it said in a persons average lifetime they will while asleep swallow approx. 70 inscets and 10 spiders. Go figure huh.

:p :p :p

Not so much spiders for me...

I used to be afraid of a lot of bugs (except ants, for whatever reason) when I was young. But the spider phase has passed. Maybe its because I'm bigger now, and they don't really pose much a threat. Naturally, I'd freak out if a spider the size of my head was found waltzing around the apartment one day. But they're mostly agreeable and have their place in the scheme of things.

But centipedes? GAAAAAAHHH!! They are to be feared! Butt ugly! When they move, they get that wave action in their legs! Ewwww! :( They don't flush down drains so easily! And if you turn on the light to your room to find one on the wall or ceiling, you don't know which way it's gonna bolt when you take a swing at it, because it's difficult to find their ends!

I had a dream once where not only was there a plague of centipedes nationwide (a far reaching dream), but they were huge, had wings and were lethal. And they were everywhere! Talk about a nightmare!

Watching that scene in the Temple of Doom where the bugs are crawling all over that lady just does it for me. I guess I saw it as a kid and have been moritified by it sense.
