EDITED THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD. DON'T APPROVE? CALL SOMEBODY WHO GIVES A DAMN

The Backstory:

A skittish, paranoid 36 year old Black woman (race is important here) called 911 because there was a prowler on the premise. Sheriff's patrol deputies arrived almost immediately, two deputies entered her house, found the terrified lady holding a flowerpot full of water as a weapon over her head defensively. Deputy Sean Grayson drew his pistol and yelled at her to put the flower pot down and keep her hands where he could see them.

She complied immediately, apologizing as she put the flowerpot down, and Grayson, who is White, goes full-Kyle-Rittenhouse and fires three rounds, one round right between the lady's eyes, killing her immediately. The other deputy (race unknown) loses his composure and screams "WTF did you do THAT for? I'm going to get the medical kit!" Grayson says something to the effect "Nah, don't bother, she's dead".

All of this is on both deputies body cameras.

The press gets ahold of the story and asks to see the body cam footage. Not gonna happen sez the Sheriff. It would make the public angry towards the police and upset her relatives. (Gee, ya think?)

The dead lady's parents contact the lawyer who represented Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, Ben Crump, and get access to the body camera footage. They are horrified. The family announced Friday that it will release the footage to the general public on Monday at 10 a.m.

The sheriff throws the murderous deputy under the bus, says thats not how we do things around here.

Local prosecutor reviews footage and brings FIRST DEGREE MURDER charges against Deputy Grayson. Grayson was arraigned in court this past week and asks for bond because, y'know, it's not safe for an officer of the law to be held in jail.

Bond? Judge essentially says "no way in hell, this is first degree murder".

Hope the governor of Illinois calls out the National Guard. I suspect it's going to be very very ugly in Springfield Illinois on Monday.

Yeah, more than likely. That's how "they" react. Some white woman gets shot by the cops, no riots, no things getting ugly. Just court cases and a civil settlement. You know, the way civilized people behave, taking it through the court system, etc etc etc. That we aren't surprised that "they" react this way says everything, doesn't it. Low expectations....sad.

On July 15, 2017, Justine Damond, a 40-year-old Australian-American woman, was fatally shot by 31-year-old Somali-American Minneapolis Police Department officer Mohamed Noor after she had called 9-1-1 to report the possible assault of a woman in an alley behind her house. Occurring weeks after a high-profile manslaughter trial acquittal in the 2016 police killing of Philando Castile, also in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, the shooting exacerbated existing tensions and attracted national and international press.

In April 2019, Noor was tried before a jury on charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. Noor claimed self defense. The jury convicted Noor of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, but he was acquitted on the charge of intentional second degree murder. In June 2019, Noor was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison. Noor's conviction on third-degree murder was overturned by the Minnesota Supreme Court on September 15, 2021. In October 2021, his sentence was revised to 4.75 years in prison, with credit for time served. Noor was released from custody on June 27, 2022, and was ordered to remain on supervised release until January 24, 2024.

Damond's family brought a civil lawsuit against the City of Minneapolis alleging violation of Damond's civil rights, which the city settled for US$20 million in 2019.

Not to defend the actions of the deputy but it is unclear what her intentions were while holding the pot of boiling water and what was her proximity to the deputies? Is it known that she had put down the pot? Rob, your account calls it a flower pot of water, not a pot full of boiling water as the article states.

Yeah, but they're cops. They should be trained to deal with stuff like this and they were called about a prowler. We have too many trigger happy cops and if even the other cop is like WTF, you know its bad

In most cases, but what are the facts? Did they surprise her in a cramped kitchen where it was possible they may have been severely burned? If she had put the pot down and she wasn't threatening, then guns should have been holstered. Who calls the cops saying she was afraid for her safety and when they arrive she's looking at then with a pot of boiling water? I think we need more facts but if he shot her without justification he deserves what the law allows.

The bottom line is she complied with the Aryan officer's commands and got shot to death as a result.
As usual, a white person killing a black person makes you so happy you do the Hitler Stomp.

Careful with your use of memes, reich guide will seize the opportunity to tell us all how hitler was a socialist once more.

Making excuses for fascist dictators (Hitler's downfall, convicted felon Donald J Trump's 2020 election loss) are the only reasons for living that Rightguide has left.

I see what you’re doing with your purposely inaccurate thread titles, but it won’t be appreciated by the MAGAts who CONSTANTLY do THE EXACT SAME THING here on the PB and in right wing media. (Please tell me the inaccurate thread titles are a purposeful / conscious act.)

😑

That and boosting gateway pundit to protect his investment.

Flower pots typically have a hole in them. Was the pot pissing all over her head? Why was a flower pot full of water? This whole story has holes in it. :)

LOL. Hitler WAS a socialist. I don't see an issue with that, and it's irrelevant to this thread.

Says the queen of waffle, and if you read the thread properly my post was a gentle dig at reich guide who posts regularly that ah was a socialist which is always good for a laugh.

And anybody who agrees is a fool and intellectually dishonest to boot.

You’ve brought this on yourself, now you’re a clown we’ll forever mock.

Have at it. I would challenge you to a duel of wits, but alas, you are already disarmed....

What's wrong? This thread is about a dead woman killed by a cop. Why are you dragging Hitler, Putin, Xi, and the rest of the disgruntled leaders of the world into it over definitions of socialists and autocrats?

WTF is wrong with some of you?

It's Literotica. Almost every thread goes divergent.

But I agree, that woman being killed like that was worse than shocking. It was disgusting. You call the cops for help, and they turn up and fucking shoot you. It's indicative of a lot that's wrong, and cops need to be far more carefully selected, far less confrontational and far better trained. We live in a very aggressive culture in many ways, and that a lot of us are armed means cops have to be capable of dealing with that in a professional and capable manner.

This woman didn't even have a gun FFS. She had a pot of boiling water to defend herself, which was quite reasonable under the circumstances. I don't see ANY extenuating circumstances here, not based on what we've seen. And this is from someone who thought Chauvin was innocent and good riddance to George Floyd. I don't see any reason to riot, BUT that cop should be made an example of, assuming he is found guilty, which on the evidence so far I think is clear he is. That's jumping to conclusions, but that Sheriff should go to. Trying to cover it up when what's needed up front is full and honest disclosure.

I'm sorry if this bugs people, but part of being a cop is to take a few risks on behalf of the rest of us, and if that means you take a pot of boiling water in the kisser because you sneak up on someone who's reported a prowler and called for help, then you take it rather than shoot some innocent woman who is relying on you for help. Part of the job.

As Matt Taibbi explained in some Useful Idiots video a long way back, police work is very physical. It gets exhausting and injurious. Shooting first to avoid any possibility of a fight or injury is very tempting. That temptation sometimes ends in murder charges and wrecked careers. It's grunt work with steady income, not a glamorous hero's job.

The skull tattoo on the shooter's arm could be used in court.
