He smirked as he stayed silent during her little comments about him being tired.He sat up from the floor, stretching his arms for a moment as he watched her walk away. He tilted his head for a moment, watching her pull on the form-fitting dress.

He couldn't let her get away with her little comment about him being tired, because he did not tired that easily. He smirked and snuck up behind her, pulling the robe from her hands to drop it to the floor. He grabbed her slender wrists and crossing them in front of her, holding her in place.

"I never said I was tired. Though I think you might need a little punishment for it."

He awoke a short time later, looking up at the ceiling. He frowned as his stomach growled for a moment, letting him know it was time to eat. Li was still asleep next to him, so he carefully extracted himself from the bed. The Academy didn't have room service, so he would have to have go to the cafeteria. He left a note beside the bed for Li before dressing and heading there himself.

Stretching out in the bed as she woke up, Li Hon felt satisfied and a little tender in new places. She felt a little disappointment to find out that she was alone in bed but shrugged it away. Rising from bed, she saw the note from her best friend, rival and lover. She rolled her eyes as she muttered, "That bastard left me alone for food!"

Li Hon put away the rich silk robe and took a hot, refreshing shower to clean off the exertions from all the extra curricular activities. A laughing wicked smile ambled across her lips when her hands touched various parts of her body. Reminding her how Ryan used his hands, mouth and shadow skills to take what he wanted. The mirror revealed love marks that littered her body in various places. "I hope I left some on him too!"

Finally dry, she braided her wet hair and padded naked into her kitchen. "Silly Prince. There's food here. He probably doesn't know how to make anything other than hot water." Though the cafeteria had excellent food, it looked like the main chef was off for the evening. The food that had been laid out was just a variety of chips, lunch meats, sandwiches condiments and some fruit. Ryan sighed for a moment and shook his head. He was hungry, but the only thing that got his attention was an apple.

He was heading out the door, with a mouthful of apple when his father cut him off at the door. He quickly swallowed the bite before giving a little smile.

"Dad...what brings you down from the ivory tower?"

The Head Master gave a smirk for a moment and thumped his son on his head with the palm of his hand. Ryan rubbed the top of his head as his father spoke.

"Since it seems you are doing so well, I've decided to move your exam up to one week."

Ryan blinked for a moment, raising an eyebrow.

"One week? Why so early?"

"It wasn't done mostly by recommendations from your instructors. Don't tell me that it will cause any problems."

Ryan blinked for a moment and quickly shook his head.

"Not at all father. Thank you."

The Head Master nodded for a moment.

"Don't let me down."

With that, his father turned and walked down the hall out of sight. Ryan made his way back to Li's room, finishing off his apple as he stepped in.

"I got news I will be taking the exam next week Li."

"What?! How did you manage to do that? I thought we were assigned to the same exam group. Who am I going in with now if you're scheduled ahead?" Li Hon called from the dining room where she was placing dinner and eating utensils. The miso soup was left in the small clay pot that it was warmed up, the omelet and mackerel on decorative plates, two bowls of rice and vegetable side dishes in small shallow bowls.

"I know you can smell the food, Shadow Prince. Come in and eat before the food gets cold." Li Hon has never told people about her particular extra sense that allows her to have tidbits of knowledge here and there. It wasn't something she could control but it was always accurate. She knew when she woke up and found Ryan gone that he would end up coming back hungry.

Li Hon raised laughing dark eyes up to Ryan when he entered the room. "You should have at least changed your clothes. You smell like us. It's pretty flattering but I'm not sure if any of the other woman who are angling for you would be very pleased." The light dimmed in her eyes. "Course, if you do want them, we can't continue. I'll find someone else." Abruptly distancing herself and falling into her calm center, Li Hon sat down to eat the late dinner. She waited for Ryan to sit before she began to eat.

Ryan chuckled softly as he smelled the food cooking. He probably should have waited on her to wake if she was going to cook like this, but then the thought didn't cross his mind. He took a seat down at the table before answering Li back.

"It wasn't my idea to move the exam up like that."

He took a bite of mackerel and rice, mming as he chewed it. The food was delicious, and alot more tasty than the apple he had just eaten.

"Besides, no one was in the cafeteria now. It is past dinner time, so all that was laid out was sandwich stuff. Only one I ran into was dad, and you know how much freedom he gives me."

He gave a little grin a moment before eating a few more mouthfuls. He shook his head for a moment at her suggestion of finding anyone else.

"None of the other ladies had held my attention like you have Li. Hell, none of the other ladies have approached me for anything in a long time, except you."

He was quiet for a moment as he mulled over her thought of what she would do about her exam.

"Maybe I could talk dad into letting me stick around to help you in your exam."

Li Hon finished chewing and swallowing her bite before she stated, "They don't allow graduates to partner up with the Initiates in the Exam. You know that. They're not going to let you be my partner after you pass." She looked at him for a moment. "I don't want you to fail to be with me."

She continued to eat slowly as she mulled over an idea in her head. "I...I can call for a Ronin test status. I can try to complete the Exam on my own. I know they're made to be completed by dual partners but I don't want to find another person to work with at this point. Anyone I could possibly imagine is already partnered up."

She stared into Ryan's light eyes with a solemn expression. "I'm good enough to succeed on my own. You know that."

Ryan was silent as he continued to eat and listen to Li talk. He knew what she said was true, but he wasn't completely sure how he could help her. When she mentioned about her skills, he smiled and nodded in agreement.

"I know you could probably easily do the Ronin tests. The only advice I could possible tell you is to talk to Dad. Maybe you could sweet talk him into letting you take the exam early with me."

He took a moment to help himself to some more rice leaning across the small table. Ryan pressed his lips against Li's soft lips for a moment before sitting back on his side of the table.

Li Hon and Ryan finished the meal in mostly silence with some conversation about the current Academy politics and whether or not they had plans to take any Masters courses after taking the Initiation Exam. Li Hon waited until Ryan finished his third bowl of rice and tucked away the last of the omelet. She drained the last of the oolong tea, caught Ryan's bright eyes with her own, pushed away from the table and walked over to him. As she turned his chair away from the table's edge, she whispered in his ear, "I think I need some dessert."

She caught Ryan's firm lips with a searching, hungry kiss. Her hands ruffling in his hair and using the short ends to pull his head from side to another as she explored his mouth and stroked the simmering awareness between them. "This is different. It's not like bathing in the public bathes and letting a friend help clean your back."
