Got my counter top done, scheduled (after a fashion) to do some extra side jobs (sub-floor repairs in apartment bathrooms), lined up a helper to save me from running as many steps, and for cheaper than my last helper. I can't make as much as doing kitchens, but there are a lot more fucked up sub-floors than there are kitchens, and I can still do kitchens when they come along. If this works out, I may be just about out of the courier business, unless something changes dramatically. Translation: that they finally wake all the fuck up and fire the idiot lying piece of shit "manager" at the local store.

I ordered my new M14-pattern rifle last night. Well, laid it away. That's Wat's favorite "credit" terms. Insh'Allah that this new round of capitalism-driven "stimulus" will keep Wat in guns-n-ammo-n-car parts this summer.


I'm shopping for my next 1911. Just kicking tires.

If my math is correct, this M14 in the upgraded package should come in at about $137 cheaper than the standard version at the local gun shop, even after shipping, insurance, and transfer/background fees. That's a counter top replacement install saved to go to something else.

The problem with .45s - 1911s are way sexy, but Glock 21s hold 13+1 and are less expensive than almost all 1911s. Way less than the ones that seem worth two fucks.
