Well, this week the thermometer crosses 90 and stays there for the foreseeable future...

I shall spend a lot of time cleaning the pool.

Princess has been in it once.

The Queen nonce.

Happy Sunday!!! I have put on coffee and a crockpot of beans. Simple stuff for this week's menu. Cheap, too.

Everything outside is still wet from last night's storm. The new cat seems to be settling in, except that she doesn't like the old cat. He has quieted down, but she's still growling at him. Silly cats doing silly cat stuff.

I'm enjoying the open windows and different air right now, but the a/c goes back on by 10 because we're going to be 90 and beyond all week.

I feel sorry for the roofers who are coming to town for our project this week. I don't care how close to the equator they're originally from, this shit will be hot-n-humid. Brutal.

Are the roofs shingle, or hot tar?

;)

When I was a union roofer, we spent a summer doing hot tar roofs.

That was the second hottest job I ever had...

The first gig is nearly 1000 squares of 3-tabs. The second one is nearly twice as big.

Allah has been merciful and we'll be upgrading them to dimensionals - 30-year shingles if I saw the paperwork properly.

I borrowed some binoculars to watch progress up close from a safe distance.

I still remember getting butt burn from a roof back in July of 1990. This was a funny sensation.

I was knocked off a two-story roof by a pole with an ungrounded wire running up it...

Sort of a bang-bang experience, like a low level jump from a perfectly good plane.

I'm pretty sure that they'll be sending me up to inspect various suspicious bits of discolored sheathing. We will, of course, kill it promptly and without regret so that it doesn't dishonor the rest of the roof.

Actually, the existing roofs look fine at both place from what I've seen so far, so I rather suspect that there won't be much sheathing at all to replace.

I was thinking that the tits made the hat look big.

I've never seen a rumble seat with its own windscreen, and all this intersecting movable parts stuff at the ass end of this body seems to me that it would make the entire area subject to some major flexing:

What is LooksLikeAFoolDownSouth doing in a thread like this?

Not exactly his cup of tea...
