I stopped taking baths a few years ago, because after lathering up and doing an initial rinse the dirty soap floating in the water would cause a layer of soap film on my body when I got out.

This weekend it dawned on me that if I soap up and do an initial rinse, then empty the tub and partially re-fill it with clean water and I rinse off the soap film and leave the bath not only clean but without a layer of soap film on my body. :)

Why not take a shower first?

I think you should look to Benjamin Franklin as a way out of this. He loved air baths. Too bad he discovered electricity before someone else showed him how to pump water from a well.

How often do you bathe yourself that you have a film of dirt that floats in the water during your baths? I'd increase the use of soap and water in your life.

It's almost like rocket science!

Did you never think you could rinse off after your bath too?

don't use soap, use bubblebath

no soapy scum, clean bath, soft and fragrant skin

You must bear in mind that the American colonials know nothing of the art and science of taking a baaath.

I didn't realize anyone over 10 took baths. Once you realize you're sitting a broth of your own filth, the novelty wears off.

I love my big old fashioned bath. I like to take a book and a glass of Jamesons and wallow in my own filth for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.

reading in the bath with a glass of something good is my favourite pastime
