Hi, it’s Gabby again

jims away for the next few days on a secret mission for... well, you know. Should be back Saturday.

Funny, he didn't show up for the rollcall count. (Did find some Monopoly money on the ground, though, so maybe he went off early--as I understand he's prone to do.)

Oh, I just love Jim's "undercover" operations!

As do thousands and thousands of brothers and sisters, fathers and daughters, and uncles and nieces who read his wonderful stories on this site. He's done more for interpersonal family relationships since the condom.

for Sarahhh

Sarahhh,

I thought your latest nonconsent story was excellent, and gave it a "5". Your Christmas story was entertaining. and I gave that a "4". (unlike others, I think a "4" signifies an above average story.)

I don't understand the rationale of stopping public comments on your new story to prevent me from leaving a comment. If you are unhappy with a comment from me or anyone else, I would simply delete it. There were two other comments on your Christmas story, by the way, thst were much more harsh than mine.

When you open your story up for public comments, I think you have to expect pretty much anything!

Now, about the "real danger" statement, I think that just because a story is listed on a lot of people's favorites lists or it gets a lot of votes, does not necessarily mean it is of the highest quality. For example, I have a story, Sis Doesn't Know He's Watching, that has gotten more votes than all of my other stories put together. It's by far my most "popular" story. So what is the problem? It sucks!!!! I have no idea why people like it....Scouries can write rings around me in the Incest category.

Speaking of the little(?) devil, were you being tongue in cheek when you listed him as your hero? Hell, you could do worse. Scouries at his best is superb of course, but his trumpet only blows one note....incest. I still say it might be refreshing for both of you to try a non-erotic story, or nonhuman, or first time, or just something different from the incest theme.

Again, thank you for your latest story. If I could have left a comment, it would read:

Excellent storytelling

Sarahhh, you've provided an entertaining story with memorable characters. Kudos for you for contributing something valuable to the nonconsent/reluctance category. Far too many other stories in that category are amateurish or brutal!

Sack:rose:

Since the condom did what?

Solved the "inbreeding" problem. Do I need to elaborate?

Incidentally, I thought the discussion you were involved in on the "Literotica Authors and Their Books" thread a few weeks back was frigging hilarious. Made me wonder if you coined the famous quotation, "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

Beats me. I don't remember the thread you reference. Guess I don't spend all that much time keeping score on Internet chat room threads.

Yes indeed, scouries sure is my hero. He’s funny. His stories are funny, among other things. I like funny. And he doesn’t take himself too seriously, unlike some here from Michigan who get their panties all in a bunch about much ado about nothing. Here I thought Illinois was the most corrupt state.

Hey now, I have stories in 15 different categories, and the majority are not Incest, contrary to the popular opinion of those who have labeled me the Queen of Incest. And I did win recent contests at LustyLibrary where “Incest” is definitely taboo and not accepted. I have my own agenda regarding what I write, which really is nobody’s business but my own. Actually, I’m in the mood for another cuckold Loving Wives story like “My Husband Sucks.” I know, I’ll do one for Valentine’s Day! Now that’s funny. Scouries has his own agenda pertaining to what he writes, as do many other authors. Some want to write material they can later convert to e-books and sell to themselves. Scouries can speak to his own agenda. One thing he strives to accomplish is to be my hero, but he already did that.

Since you are so concerned about “quality” related to votes and favorites lists and public comments (oh my, you’re a public comment whore too?), let me ask you a question. The two top stories in the past 30 days for public comments are mine, which you already publicly commented upon, and Soular’s Seven Days Ch. 06. Both had 90 public comments the last time I looked. To what do you attribute the “popularity” of Soular’s story in terms of so many public comments?

I've left you and scouries and his alts alone, kindly do the same. None of the 'some here from Michigan' have posted on this thread in weeks yet the both of you and your many alts continue to goad us. It hasn't worked so just give it a rest. You hang out in your own world and we'll hang out in ours.

Hey Gabby, well please make sure that Jim does get his sweet ass back by tomorrow. All of a sudden I need his musement on a Non-Erotic category story. The title is "Sex and the Single Girl from ________." Use your imagination regarding the from.

QUOTE sack Speaking of the little(?) devil, were you being tongue in cheek when you listed him as your hero? Hell, you could do worse. I still say it might be refreshing for both of you to try a non-erotic story, or nonhuman, or first time, or just something different from the incest theme.

Dear sack, I believe we had much the same conversation a couple of years ago. At the time I believe you were urging me to write Gay category stories and to be more flowery in my descriptions of my characters underwear (the latter not a terrible idea).

A few points: 1 – As I’ve told you and many others over the years – it’s not the category that matters, it’s the story. ‘Write well and readers will cum’ is my motto. There are good, bad, awful and excellent stories in every category on this site. The quality of a story bears no relation to the category it’s published in!

2 – I’ve yet to hear you make this complaint to other authors. You haven’t said to Elianna – “Dear girl, you’re only blowing one note – Nonhuman – why not try an Incest or Anal story”. Nor asked Sourwitch why she only wrote Romance stories. You didn’t ask her to “blow” a Lesbian or an Exhibitionist. Wouldn’t it be refreshing for them to do something different? Or does this only apply to authors who write in certain categories?

One of the things I’ve learned reading SURVIVOR contest authors over the years is that no one here can write effectively in every category. I can think of three or four authors who I once enjoyed reading who lost me forever with poorly written stories in categories they clearly didn’t enjoy writing in (and no, I’m not referring to current SURVIVALISTS, instead I’m referring to authors I encountered in my early days on the site).

There are exceptions of course- rgjohn and freddie :D spring immediately to mind.

And of course out in the ‘real world’ popular authors are notorious for sticking to the same genre.

3 – As to the scourian output – So far over the years I’ve published stories in eleven categories on this site (Incest, First, Erotic Coupling, Mature, Celebrity, Group, Exhibitionism, Non Consent, How To, Romance and Loving Wives) as well as stories in Interracial, Erotic Horror and Novels that were placed in the Incest category by persons unknown after I’d submitted them (In fact only one of the first twelve stories I published here was an Incest one and that was almost by accident).

Many of my earlier stories are now gone as I cull my story list pretty regularly (I’d prefer to have no more than fifty stories up at any one time and am in fact due to take five or ten more down before the end of the year)

So which ones to cull? Generally I remove those that receive less votes, less comments and less reads. I presently have only one story on my list with less than 200 votes (it’s not an Incest story) and it will have to go if it doesn’t hit the magic number soon (I demand a minimum of 400 votes for Incest stories).

Similarly stories with low readership are in danger of being removed. My ROYALTY contract allows very little room for laggards! Best Seller or Bust!

4 – But yes the majority of my stories are now Incest (and will likely remain so in the future). For a quite simple reason – LITEROTICA’S readership prefers Incest to any other category. By a long shot! Numbers don’t lie.

And an author of course has an obligation to his fans, to his readers.

Fortunately I’m popular enough here on this site to stray from time to time… I’ve earned some latitude because my readers know I have the utmost respect for them…

Finally, as to my trumpet I’ll simply say that many, many notes have been blown on it over the years…

My dear sarahhh :rose:You could make it a series!

"Sex and the Single Girl from Kalamazoo ."
"Lack of Sex in the Upper Penisula."
“General MotorMouths – sucking America dry.”
"Sex and the Detroit Lion Cheerleader – she never cums."
"Going Down on the Detroit River :p – a tale of Lesbian lust in the big house."
“Anal Automobiles – there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”
“Wolverines – female rapists run wild?”

Once Congress gets the Michigan auto industry bailed out maybe they should turn to Michigan’s sexual shortcomings!

I’m james r scouries, and I approve this message…

What a wonderful idea! You never fail to muse me, Jim.

Why, a multi-chapter epic tail like that will have readers forsaking family, friends, sex, and everything else in their lives waiting in rabid anticipation for the next chapter. I’ll get public comments like “Please, please, please post the second chapter. PLEASE” and “keep it up you have best seller written all over this story.”

Go Dolphins and Steelers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m in the fantasy football playoffs, and I need Downtown Ronnie Brown and the Dolphins defense to come up big, not to mention some Steelers players on offense. Unfortunately, my opponent has Peyton Manning against Detroit. Something tells me the team from Michigan will continue to suck big time and not in a good way, just like that other “team” from that state we know too well. I can’t figure out why the Lions can’t learn to cheat.

so how about them Dolphins …

Now 9 - 5

and did you see the Dolphins cheerleaders today?

Ohhhhhhhh Baby…

p.s. and good luck you steelers...

Dammit, no fair teasing. I was looking forward to your frothing at the mouth about the contest results.

Thank you for the compliment. You're too kind to mention me in the same sentence as RGJohn."

Actually, writing in different categories has made me a better writer. For me, there are some categories that are difficult to master, such as gay, anal, BDSM, lesbian, fetish, and cross-dressers. Yet, I think my Emma series worked realistically as a lesbian piece and my cross-dresser stories have garnered attention from cross-dressers, so much so that I've been asked if I cross-dressed (lol).

Writing in categories that you are unfamiliar stretches you as a writer. You must be sensitive to what it feels like to be a lesbian or a gay man or a cross-dresser. Nonetheless, it's fun to write in different categories.

He has been too busy celebrating the Dolphins victory with the cheerleaders to be bothered so far. I'm sure we'll hear some words of scouries wisdom soon. In the meantime, we always have the "Holiday contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!" thread in Story Feedback with the lead post "Wow, what a freaking joke! Does anyone besides me, think that the contests are fixed?" to ponder.

Yes, the thread posted by the guy who tried to post two chapters to a contest that no longer excepts chapters. And a day after the contest closed also.

Can't you just taste the sour grapes?

Oh sorry, I forgot, those are your favorites.

QUOTE LAUREL :cattail: 1) The winter holidays contest is a "Readers' Choice" contest - not a "Contest Judged by a Panel of People of Whose Opinions I Approve". This is the case with all Literotica contests - and has been since the site began 10 years ago.

2) If those looking for 'transparency" in the voting are waiting for us to publicly discuss how the fraud vote system works - so that every troll and troublemaker can get tips on how to circumvent it - then they will have a long, long wait. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all who participated!

First off I’d just like to welcome you to the discussion. While we don’t always agree I feel any of these discussions about the site are always better and more informative for your presence.

As to your point #1 – Nonsense! A so called “Readers’ Choice” contest implies that our readers choose the winners. It demands that those running the contest publish the results for every story at the end of the contest.

I’ve repeatedly asked over the last two years that you publish the number of VIEWS and VOTES as well as the RATING for every story entered in these contests. You refuse to!

Why? We all know the reason – Once you publish the figures the whole sham will be exposed. No one who sees that a winning monthly contest story only received 25 votes and 3,000 views or that a Special Contest story received 52 votes and 4,200 views will believe the winners are “Readers’ Choices”. Not when they see them compared with stories that receive hundreds of votes and tens of thousands of views.

Just publish the results ma’am – all of them. For every story. Every vote. Every view. Their ratings. If the winners are the “readers’ choices” it will be obvious to all. And if the winners aren’t that will be obvious too.

As to your point #2 – I assume this “transparency” line is directed at me so have no hesitation in answering. You’re clearly trying to misstate my position.

I have no interest in (nor would understand) how you detect so-called “fraud” votes.

Instead, what interests me is what the site defines as a “legal” vote and what it defines as a “fraudulent” one.

Any voting system under which those in power can throw out any vote they disagree with without even explaining what the basis for their actions is illegitimate. LITEROTICA simply emulates the Banana Republics, the Haiti’s and Zimbabwe’s of this world.

You’ve lost all credibility with this last minute tossing of thousands of votes with no explanation.

Furthermore I hate your use of the terms “troll” and “troublemaker” in characterizing people who you think should be disenfranchised. In true free societies we don’t disenfranchise “troublemakers”. Names like “trolls” and “troublemakers” almost invariably are applied to those not in power – those who disagree with the elites - in our case at LITEROTICA they’re used almost exclusively by the small inner coterie of smug AHers to describe almost anyone who disagree with them.

You seem unwilling to even tell us what a fraudulent vote is my dear QUEEN. FYI here’s my two cents worth - I believe every single “READER” should have the right to vote – ONCE and only ONCE. I believe he or she should have the right to vote whatever they want – 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5. And have their vote count! ONCE!

As to the winners of this contest I’m sorry I can’t join you in congratulating them. I have no idea how many votes or views they received. I have no idea what rating they received. Only you know. I know you kept some votes and threw out others. I have no idea if you favor your friends or not when you massage the vote totals. But I do know that ninety percent of your winners over the past two plus years bear no relation to what are our “readers’ choices”. And you know it too!

I’m james r scouries, and I approve this message…

Dolphins count all the votes, not just those of their friends …

No, this was obviously directed at me, as I had used "transparency" in an early posting.

But it is curious. I have a winning story whose score has consistently fallen with every sweep SINCE it won. Votes that were considered legitimate when it won are now gone. It no longer even rates an H.

*shrug*

I don't understand.

*shrug*

I don't understand.

It's happening to all of us. And no explanations are forthcoming. And, no, it doesn't boost incentive to write/post--nor does it foster trust in the system.

I must say, though, that in the "why is this still happening after many-times-swept?" sweeps, my ratings tend to go up rather than down.
