Just the sheer number of stories that I have written has attracted many readers to the site. You just have to Google Bostonfictionwriter to read my stories in many languages.

Yeah Jim, that's quite a list you've got yourself on. Where most all of those stories except yours have been on this site since the beginning. For you to make it there, the only list you can seem to get on, all you need is time and a few hundred thousand clicks on the open close button for your story. How is that callous on your thumb by the way.

A read is nothing but a click of the mouse. Nothing more and nothing less. It means zip, jack, Nada. Any fool with to much time on his hands can rack up a million reads in a week or so. Keep believing it means money in your pocket. Everyone knows better.

But the “Blanche” stories were. A three part series that dates back to 2005 these three chapters (2 Non-Consent, 1 Group) have been read by some 130,000 people and have received some 600 votes. They were old friends who continued to draw 2500-3000 views a month (which ain’t that bad!).

Still I needed the room! Tough choices have to be made sometimes.

So six stories that had accumulated a quarter of a million views and a thousand votes are now being sacrificed for the greater good. Sent out into the wasteland of “out of print” fiction.

Thanks for the memories guys…

…And the sad thing is I have another six or seven more to do tomorrow…

I've covered this before. No matter how wise that old adage about ignoring trolls sounds, it simply doesn't work on an unmoderated forum. Scouries has free reign, and that gives him the ability to utilize any unconscionable attack he wishes to garner a response. He can stoop to any low without fear of repercussions, as can the rest of the little triad and their numerous alternate personalities. If it's not a regular, it will be a newbie that responds.

Someone is always going to respond.

Nothing short of moderator intervention can stop the likes of scouries, and even that has its limitations -- as if it would ever happen.

Since we have a village idiot standing atop a bucket of slop preaching brainless nonsense in a rambling manner, and there ain't no sheriff in this here town to lock him up for a breach of the peace, we may as well enjoy hurling tomatoes and other -- less savory -- objects at him for the sheer entertainment value.

Those who don't want to play have a rather novel alternative on this forum software. Not only does ignoring an ignoramus prevent you from seeing his or her posts, you also can't see any threads the human dingleberry starts. Drop scouries on the old ignore list, and this thread ceases to exist from your perspective.
