He arrived early to work once again. Wanting to get away from his mate who had been trying to get a quickie. He hadn't been amused nor did he appreciate that hot coffee that burned his neck. Eureka (better known as Ryo) was the youngest head doctor in the history of the whole hospital. He graduated high school with a bachelor and went straight to medical school. Needless to say, he had done very well for himself. Financially and work wise. In the relationship department, he had absolutely gone downhill.
Letting out a sigh, he sat down in the waiting room, crossing his legs. He didn't look like his doctor self, he looked more like someone who was waiting for something or someone. Two toned violet eyes scanned around, enjoying the fact it was early morning and no one was in. Hopefully, they weren't hurt. He leaned back and closed his eyes, his tired body enjoying the few moments he had off his feet. Today, there would only be one other doctor in the ER, the rest going to a conference. Which he had no idea about.
A sigh escaped through his lips. Eureka was never the tall type, and his body looked as though it had never fully growing into itself. He looked more awkward than the handsome men as scene on TV. His eyes were a rarity, but it was due to a mutation in his DNA, along with a few other abnormalities. But they weren't as prominent. Only when working biologically. He had scars gracing his body from the rowdy patients and was not only tone deaf, but nearly completely deaf in his left ear. His eye sight was too sharp for him and he was extremely sensitive to the sun.
… he was not pale because he liked vampires. (He was a part of an anti-Twilight club. He was strongly opinionated in this matter. His minor was in cryptology.)
Still, he had to admit, he loved his job. He loved his job more than anything. This gave him pause. Why did he ever hook up with that man anyway? It was clear the two weren't compatible. It was probably because the doctor didn't want to be alone-- or perhaps, he wanted people to think he was alone. There was a difference in being alone and being lonely. Personally, the young adult didn't mind have his private time. If only they weren't interrupted by a one sided passionate kiss. He felt nothing. He never really did. Not even in bed. Nope, he faked most of the time, easily arched (he had worked with a dance troupe that used circus style tricks) and even at times, used pills to help him. If one got the drift. Yes, perhaps he was one of the cruel kinds. The kind that didn't want to lead a person on, but once they did, they didn't know how to break it to them.
Wait, actually, he did.
He would go home, pack his bag, leave a crappy bull shit note and find a new town to live in. Surely his mate wasn't-- Eureka sighed. It was impossible. As much as he wanted to be a cold hearted bastard, the other man wasn't all that bad. Besides, it wasn't though he was physically burdening him. Just emotionally. His mate was a sweet heart, out going, cheerful... the opposite of what he was. Shy, soft spoken and introverted. Raking his hand through his black hair, he growled. Soon work would start. Soon he could put his problems aside and just... be.
Thinking, he wondered about one particular patient. He had arrived... well, Eureka couldn't remember, but the man had talked on and on about his lover. The doctor found that to be a bit cute, if annoying. The man had said... he frowned. What had he said? The blackette shook his head. Ah, he couldn't remember. It was amazing he remembered the annoying and cute bit. His memory wasn't what it used to be. Not any more at least. Well, it wasn't as though he suffered from short term memory loss. That was horrible as his twin was suffering it. (His twin also lived with him and his mate. It was hard on Eureka to see his brother forget everything over and over. But still it was nice to see him smile.)
"Oh, please, please, please let this day be busy. The good kind of busy."
