Feeling slightly nervous about the way the man looked at me but quickly brushing it a side. "Well perhaps we can help you with that you will need to check with our foreman. His name is George and he should be back at the Renolds Ranch soon, I’m Samantha Renolds by the way and I am part owner of the ranch up ahead.”
Giving the stranger a welcoming smile, as I indicate the ranch before us in the distance. “I’m sure we have enough room in the bunk house and I know for a fact that we are still needing the help.”
Noticing the accent and the way the man held himself I got the feeling that he was sizing up the situation before making any kind of commitment as to what he wants to do. “If you don’t mind I’ll just walk with you. Its a nice day and well I am not in a major hurry.” Even though I was actually wanting to get to the ranch to see if George had made it back yet or not.
But it would have been rude to just leave this man out here walking to the ranch when I could keep him company. The vet would just have to wait, besides I was more curious then anything. His accent was from Texas so what had brought him all the way to Montana and here to the ranch.
