The Quiet Thread

Bunnies in the grass are quiet.

Snakes in the grass are quiet.

Lizards on the wall are quiet.

Pedicures are quiet (if I can keep myself from giggling)

Touching his face is quiet.

Smoothing his eyebrows with my thumbs

Kissing his eyelids

Stroking his cheeks

Licking his lips

Our lips closed, teeth clenched, our naked bodies thrusting and only the sound of our noses breathing heavily against each other is quiet

Waking up the next morning, staring into one each others eyes and smiling is quiet

While on vacation recently, I went canoeing on a lake with my son.
It was the middle of the afternoon, but a weekday. We pretty much had the lake, or at least the part of it we were on, all to ourselves.
Of course we chatted and stuff some. But he's my quiet kid.
So, we just paddled. Nothing but the soft sounds of the paddles moving through the water. The gentle breeze on our faces.
Being with him.
Quietly.

Kneading dough is quiet
Planting a garden is quiet
Meditation is quiet
Laying in a tub is quiet
