The Prayer room.

I'm starting this thread as a place for people of faith to gather and pray together. It's also a place to come and place prayer requests, updates, information and inspiration as well as actual, typed prayers.

This is my verse of inspiration for this thread:

Matthew 18:20 (this is the message version)

"And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I'll be there."


I'm going to be here a while, join me, type your own prayers or just sit and read.

Just spend some time in communion with God.


Anyone is welcome to add a prayer. My prayers will be addressed to God as that is my belief. Please feel free to add your own prayers according to your own beliefs

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this gift, for this way of communicating with you. thank you for the internet that means we can be with people the world over, right here in our own home.

My thoughts are filled with images of the damage caused by Katrina. I pray now for all people affected by this storm. I pray that the help that is needed reaches the people that need it.

I bring the aid workers to you, keep them safe, keep them healthy as they go into dangerous situations to help others.

Be with those who have lost everything, help the lost, confused and grieving. Give folks strength when they feel they can't go on. give them peace in the turmoil and comfort in this sadness.

I know many people will ask why? AndI don't know the answer, I just trust You do. Shelter these people, care for them, feed them. touch hearts to give and to help.

Lord Hear my prayer.

Father,

We ask you to hear our prayers and listen to our cries for help. We come to you tonight on behalf of the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Please be with those who are sleeping on concrete floors among strangers tonight, who don't know when they will be able to shower again or brush their teeth, much less return to a home that may only be a pile of debris. Reassure those who are separated from family and friends, and remind them that you are with them and they will never be alone. Comfort those who have lost everything. Remind them that as long as they have you, they are wealthy beyond measure. Give strength to those who are wondering how they will carry on, now that their lives are changed forever. For those who are overwhelmed, grant peace and clarity of thought.

Continue to be with those providing rescue and aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Give them the stamina they need in the face of seemingly insurmountable tasks. Help them realize the greatest impact they can have is by helping one person at a time, even if it's just a giving hug and acknowledging that person's pain, anger, and sadness.

Lord, only you know the outcome of this situation for each person touched by this disaster. Only you can answer the whys and what nows that are on the hearts of so many people. Until You are ready to reveal Your will, please open the hearts of Your people and fill them with Your peace.

Thank you for the dawning of another day. Thank you for my comforts, my family, my friends. Thank you for your love and caring.

I know you are working with those victims of the Katrina disaster, I know you are there, caring and loving. I pray for all those who feel helpless, lonely, dispairing. I pray for the grieving and the distraught. Send those people exactly what they need.

Enable the emergenecy services to continue to do their jobs effectively, letthem overcome all obstacles in their way.

Dear Lord,

Thanks for another beautiful morning, a new day and new opportunites. Thank you for my friends and family and that I have food and a house and other luxury comforts.


I bring those victims of the Katrina disaster to you Lord. Be with them. Enable the emergency workers to work efficently and effectively, give them strength to keep on going. I pray for those still trapped by the waters, provide for them Lord. I pray for those who are missing family memebers, bring them news soon, so they can know Lord, reunite familes Lord.

My heart goes out to these people, I think of them at every turn, let my prayers help Lord, as I am desperate to help. Your hands are working there, I pray that the people doing your work, all the people there helping, are kept safe.

I pray that aid can be sent through quickly to those who need it. Provide for the hungy and thirsty Lord.

Lord, let us keep our focus, let us pray unceasingly to you.

Today I'm feeling thankful, for my family especially my daughter. She lights up so many folks lives, including my own.

I'm thankful for so much, for my home, my cupboards being full of food, the meal I've just eaten.

I pray for those who have nothing. Nothing. Especially those still recovering from Katrina, be with them lord, look after them, cherish them, show them your love. Be with those poor children seperated from parents, especially those who's parents are no longer living. Be with all who are grieving Lord.

I pray for Christians world wide, as at some point today they prepare to visit church. Let your workers be inspired, let people hear messages to touch their hearts and ease their burdens. Let your people hear your word and be thankful. Motivate us to show your love, fill us with your spirit,

I'm seeing the irony in when i seek out time with you, I come to a porn to do so. I do believe others in church would not be so amused, but it just says to me you are in everything, you are everywhere and I am comfortable here, conversing with you.

I bring the Katrina survivors to you once more Lord, and pray your arm to be round them all, comforting and protecting them.
